We arrived to the Vulcano hotel only to find a sparkling, immaculately clean hotel. Magnificent food and very friendly and helpful young and older staff. Cannot be faulted.
I would recommend this hotel to other friends and we will definitely be returning ourselves next year at some point. The pools are lovely and clean and if you go to the pool and the beds are all taken by people leaving their towels on them the pool. The attendant will remove the towels for you so that you can make use of the bed, which is something I have never come across before.
The entertainment in the hotel was very very good and only found it naff one night out of seven. Hotel computers were available for me, to be able to talk to my kids on m.s.n as this was a child free holiday.
Excellent time, thank you. Chris and Mick.

Vulcano hotel was definitely the best hotel I have ever stayed in and the rest of my family are there now, they love it that much! The food is fantastic and of the best quality and the actual hotel itself is great.
The rooms are kept clean and tiny on a daily basis and there is a fab mini bar in the room. The pool is great too! Overall, couldn't ask for any better!

This was our second visit to this hotel and we could not fault a single thing in the hotel. The staff are very polite and friendly, the food is exceptional, if anyone is not satisfied with the food they should not be staying in any hotel; there is a massive choice of food every night including show cooking which is also different every night.
It is a very busy hotel but within a few days the restaurant staff would know your drinks order without much prompting. The only downside is lack of space around the sun beds but you can move them around a bit, there was also plenty of them.
The reception area is breathtaking when you first enter the hotel. All in all a very good hotel and would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone.

Had stayed at this hotel about 10 years ago and thought it might be a bit shabby now but it was even better than before. We were allocated a room on the bottom floor and stayed there for 2 nights and then asked if we could get a room on a higher floor.
This was provided with no hassle and we had a lovely view out to sea and also got the nice breeze. When we checked in we were given an application form for a Spring Card which would give us discount on all drinks and extra food in the hotel or any of the other hotels in the group. We were told this would be sent to our room within a couple of days.
After 5 days we still had not received the card and were given various excuses at reception for this. After a further 4 days we were eventually told it would be sent to our home address which was of course not much good so we asked to see the Manager and he was very apologetic and the card was given to us there and then. It is a good idea to charge all drinks to your room therefore once you receive the card you will get the discount when you settle your bill. This was the only complaint we had with this hotel.
Food was really good, different carvery every night and freshly made omelettes at breakfast. The area around the hotel has been very much improved since our last visit and bars and restaurants were only a short walk away and the Safari Centre just round the corner with the waltzing waters every night.

Fabulous location 10/10
Room Facilities 9/10 - only drawback was that there was a mini bar but you couldn't use it for own drinks. Great size rooms with big balconies. Air con worked very well, not noisy. Loads storage space. massive bathrooms, clean and modern.
Food 7/10 Great choice for breakfast, no queues for drinks etc. Evening meal good but very poor choice of veg and most food had onions added, even the cauliflower and peas were mixed with onion. Fabulous salad bar and desserts. Good service.
Evening entertainment 7/10 - not bad at all for hotel entertainment. Best shows were the Mama Mia show and drag show - fabulous
Pool area 5/10 - main problem with hotel. All beds squashed together, couldn't be moved. No individual parasols, just long parasols the length of the sunbathing area so if your a sun worshipper like me, a real problem so had to go to beach everyday!!!!
Hotel facilities 8/10 - great reception area, games area, internet area, large entertainment bar (no smoking), small piano bar (smoking), mini golf etc.
All in all, a great holiday with first class hotel in a fabulous location. Wouldn't return again, only because of the pool situation.

I have traveled quite a bit and have to say that this is one of the best hotels I have stayed in!
We got a really good deal with first choice for half board and I have to say the food was very good. There was an excellent choice of your standard buffet type food, but also fresh fish, a carvery and a barbecue where they would cook steaks etc to your liking. They even catered for people with special diets, e.g. gluten free bread.
The service was brilliant, the staff were so friendly and couldn’t do enough for you. We found other visitors friendly enough also and made a lot of friends when we were there of all ages. Yes there are a lot of repeat guests but that is because the hotel is fantastic. I have only been once but would recommend it to anyone and everyone and wouldn’t hesitate to return. And as for the previous comment that it is only the older people that are treated well, I am 23 and thought the staff were great!
There are a lot of seating areas, e.g. the atrium with its plants and pleasant seating, the lounge bars, downstairs near the restaurant there is an area that resembles a library with card tables and comfy seats, so you can always get away from it all and sit peacefully with a nice book and a drink
The average age in the hotel was quite old and this was perhaps reflected in the evening entertainment, but it didn’t matter for us as we would only head down to the bar for a cocktail at happy hour before we ventured out
The hotel is situated in the nicer area of playa de las Americas. The resort itself has changed so much over the last 5 years or so and is now really pleasant. There were quite a few lucky, lucky men etc but I felt safe walking around, there are loads of nice bars and restaurants nearby, as well as designer shops. Cosmetics and perfumes are dirt cheap over there
The pool area was a bit crowded and like everywhere the beds were reserved early in the morning, and if it were up to me, if people hadn’t come down by 10 in the morning I would employ someone to throw the towels in the pool like I have seen done in other places! The only negative thing I could say about the hotel is that a lot of the sun beds have shades over them which you can’t take down. I think they would be better replacing them with parasols where you can have them up or down
All in all a brilliant holiday - the rooms were spacious and they had minibars in the room at quite reasonable prices, though there is a supermarket just round the corner to the right.
This hotel is also suitable for those in wheelchairs - there are lifts and ramps everywhere and even in the dining room they keep the tables far apart to allow access. You can also apply for a loyalty card at reception which gives you 10% off food and drink bought in the hotel (e.g. pool bar, lounge bar and even min-bars in room) - it adds up if there’s a few of you
They were also kind enough to let us swap our evening meal for lunch on one occasion so we could go out for a special occasion and not feel like we had wasted money paying for half board which we weren’t using. I think you could even eat at the sister hotels.
Recommend this hotel 100% without a doubt!

Positive.
Food of good quality.
Reception area impressive
Negatives.
Sun beds reserved at 6.30 in the pitch dark, I observed this for 28 days.
Pool area laid out in rows under weird canopies, therefore did not use.
Avoid room numbers 93-95-97-99 as the hotel next doors generator whirls all night, at 2.30am each morning they deposit all their bottles in the bottle bank, this goes on for at least half an hour.
Make sure you get a top floor we were very unlucky changing rooms 3 times, and still not getting a top floor, I think they are reserved for the privileged few! Selfish people who come in during the early hours in high heels and walk up and down the room for 20-30 minutes what do they do? We had 4-5 nights good sleep out of 28, and on three occasions returned to bed after breakfast as we were so tired from the noise of others. You can hear every word that is said in the adjoining rooms, even tooth cleaning. Then the cleaners are around from 9.00am until 3.00pm, so continual bed moving. So no peace in the day either- I would hate to be unwell there!
There are many repeat guests of the late 70 early 80 age group who think they own the place, it was unusual to get a reply to our good morning-good evening when meeting in corridors and lifts.
The hotel has a feel of a pre- care home guests old ill -mannered and selfish ( we ourselves are 62 and 69 and felt young!
We also noticed towards the end of our stay several tables at breakfast with a glass of apple juice reserving the tables- 45 minutes later still no sign of the guest, guess these are the people who deposit towels at 6.30 on the sun beds, reserve their breakfast table, return to bed and breakfast at 10!!
The dining room is very busy we never sat in the same place twice in a month.
In a nutshell this hotel is run for the benefit of repeat visitors, they need to remember a lot of them will meet their demise soon, and need to take more interest in newer guests who might replace them.
Would we go back- NO- the noisiest hotel we have encountered the world- and yes we have traveled, those who have been here 42 times (yes that was the record) 42 could not have had any time to have tried better.

My wife, myself and 4 of our good friends decided to holiday in Tenerife for the first time and picked the Hotel Vulcano on the recommendation of friends. We were certainly not disappointed and have decided to return again for our next annual holiday.
The hotel is four-star and exceptionally clean, with excellent food, a heated outdoor pool, good position with a five-minute walk to the beach, quiet and comfortable. The gardens are especially lovely.
The best thing is it is virtually childfree and everything, including the evening entertainment, is geared to the more mature guest. There are no rowdy lager-louts ruining the atmosphere.
We made some excursions. Mount Tiede on the cable car was lovely, but chilly at the top.
Be warned that timeshare touts and ‘looky men’ selling watches and things can be annoying.

I went to the Vulcano with my boyfriend, sister and her two children, we all had a fantastic holiday, plenty for the kids to do through the day, rooms were as clean as clean can be, the food was really good, plenty of choice for all.
The hotel is in a nice area in-between Los Cristanos and Playa De Las Americas, very nice restaurants, bars and shops.
I would recommend this wonderful hotel.

Having read the very favourable reviews about this hotel, we decided to go for it and it surely lived up to the high standards almost all authors have spoke of.
This is indeed a beautifully appointed hotel, well worthy of its 4 star rating with the reception area decked out as a lush sub tropical garden with a waterfall and an abundance of international flora, labelled for the horticulturalists amongst us. First impressions count for an awful lot and this area exudes a warm ambiance at night with comfortable seating, strategically placed lighting, running water and recorded bird noises, but without the flying insects which would plague such an outdoor setting.
The accommodation itself is exceptionally well appointed, roomy, clean and comfortable but with one small downside namely the double bed. Although large, it consisted of two mattresses butted together, which meant there was an uncomfortable ridge in the middle of the bed. This may well of course suit those couples who argue a lot and require distance between each other, but we found it a little annoying and uncomfortable.
Sound insulation between rooms was good and the provision of carpets in the hallways meant that noise levels were relatively low during the wee small hours. The air conditioning was just adequate in the rooms but was far from noisy which perhaps suits those amongst us who hate ticking clocks.
On the positive side, the food was of high quality, plentiful with a varied and wide choice at all sittings with several dishes being cooked continuously on the grill, which ensured their freshness. A nice touch was the microwave in the dining area for those who like their food very hot and there was never a queue for its use either. Unfortunately you cannot get even a glass of water at dinner unless you pay for it and I felt this detracted a little from the excellent service/food, which was always on offer in the restaurant.
The hotel is situated in the nicest part of the resort between Playa de Las Americas and Los Christianos with good bars/entertainment close by and barely a ten-minute walk to the sandy beach. The hotel itself caters in the main for shall we say the more mature guests amongst us and the 'in house' entertainment reflects this and was not to our taste, but then again you cant please all the people all the time.
Lager louts were noticeable by their absence and we are sure the hotel would actively discourage any rowdy behaviour in the unlikely event of it occurring. We can only conclude by saying ' enjoy ' as you will be hard pressed to find a better hotel without paying a small fortune for the privilege. (Uxbridge)

Our second visit to this resort but our first to this fantastic hotel! Everyone and everything in this hotel was fabulous! We spent one week here and we couldn’t fault it at all. First impressions - fantastic! The entrance lobby is spectacular with a large range of tropical plants from around the world. The rooms are a good size and well furnished. The restaurant is spotless with varied and plentiful food. The pool area provides ample sun beds. The staff were always polite and very helpful. The position of the hotel is great, within easy walking distance of beaches, shops and bars. Within two days of our return home we booked two weeks in August in this hotel! Need I say anything more? If you are looking for a memorable and fantastic holiday this is this place for you.

A very good hotel, but we were rather disappointed after having read raving reviews. I really believe that a lot of people are blinkered by the fantastic reception area with tropical plants hanging from roof level. That is the lasting memory.
Easiest to enumerate points:
Bad first:
1. The dining room is massive - no atmosphere whatsoever, very noisy, just like a canteen. The nicest, quietest area, is for smokers!
2. Some of the rooms (level 0) never get the sun morning or evening. However, these are ground floor level, and would be excellent for disabled, of whom there were many staying in the hotel. We asked for another room, but were told that they were fully booked, yet later found that we could have moved rooms during the week.
3. Satellite tv did not work in room. Were told that reception was poor. When we were given a changing room on departure in another part of the hotel, that tv worked perfectly!
4. The swimming pool is far too small for the hotel. We were there in February so it didn`t matter, but in summer it must be horendous.
5. The usual British towel brigade were in full force, despite it being February, and rained on some days. The hotel should make arrangements to remove towels from beds.
The good points:
1. Excellent position in Playa las Americas, I`d say it was nearer Los Christianos, but certainly convenient for either.
2. Food was excellent, albeit after a few days, rather monotonous
3. Staff were generally very pleasant and helpful
4. The reception/ground floor lounge is superb.
All in all, we had a very enjoyable holiday, and if visiting Tenerife again in winter would stay there again, but don`t think southern Tenerife will be on our agenda again.
