Jul 2008, Mrs F Lafferty

We have stayed at the Levent twice now in 2004 and 2006 and are booked to go back in 2008. We has a fantastic time in Turkey and the hotel suits our needs, quiet with a pool and we are really looking forward to meeting the new owners when we return in August.

This is the first time we have been to this hotel but we found it to be very friendly, clean and comfortable. There were four of us and when I booked the hotel I asked for two rooms with balconies and when we arrived and was shown to our rooms we were all very pleased with... more

May 2008, Mr R Blakemore

Having holidayed in the Fethiye area many times I was aware that the Levent Hotel suffered from a declining reputation. At the time of my booking the only vacancies near to the town centre were at the Levent'. However upon my arrival I was greeted by the new management... more

A total Gem of a Hotel
I have stayed at this gem of an Hotel, 3 times this year (2008), during June and July. There are NO words that I can use to sufficiently express how superb a job the new owners are doing in making this hotel probably the nicest and most homely Hotel I have EVER stayed in in all of my journeys around the World as a Diver. No time of night or day do you not find the most wonderful reception by either Lynda, Jakob ... or more probably BOTH!!!!! This remains true even if your arrival is at 5.00am. I am so saddened to read the... more

just stayed for two weeks with my partner had a magnificent stay, food excellent staff fabulous, going again in october so the clues are there
Such a pretty hotel!
We were originally staying in the Atapark Hotel but after a number of unpleasant issues we checked out early and ended up in the Levent. What a godsend, Lynda and Yakup ( the new management) took us in and made us feel so at home. The accommodation is basic but extremely clean, why spend your time in the room when you can be around the pool or sitting on the terrace with a cold beer just staring at the beatiful views absolutely stunning. The menu was very comprehensive and reasonably priced, Linda's specials were a real treat... more
Never Again
Having booked to go to the Levent Hotel in June we thought it would be ideal for a good relaxing holiday with no children allowed at the hotel.(as advertised in the brochure and at the hotel). However half way through the 2 weeks children appeared. When my wife asked Lynda (the proprietor) about it she was told "TRADE IS TRADE". We contacted the Thomas Cook rep who said she was out of order having children there and she would be asking Lynda to sort it out. Lynda initialy stated that she would not ask them to leave so... more

I am disappointed by this review. As the new owners of the hotel and having little input into a pre existing contract between the tour operator and the previous owners, it had been my understanding that we, as owners of the hotel made the decisions about whether children were accepted or not. We had told the tour operator that the hotel was not suitable for children and since it was a small hotel, with a small pool we felt that lots of children would be a disturbance to older guests. At no time up until this incident was I aware that I could not exercise my own descretion as to who stayed in my hotel. There are several inaccuracies in this reivew. The writer states that it was halfway through their holiday - in fact they had just four days left of their two week holiday. The writer states that I allowed 'children' into the hotel, in fact it was just one child. My exact words to this reviewers' wife was that I 'made a commercial decision to allow the child to stay'. The word 'trade' is not part of my business vocabulary in relation to guests! The word 'trade' does not co exist with the ethos of home from home hospitality which we endeavour to foster in our hotel. The adults accompanying the child had been booked into the hotel by another business with whom we have an arrangement to provide accommodation and they were also not aware that a child would be coming. When the family arrived they had been driving for many hours and were exhausted. We are after all running a business and turning away guests who are tired and hungry is neither good business sense, nor particularly humanitarian, particularly when they had no where else to stay. This reviewer's wife complained to me about the little girl within ten minutes of her arrival. This child had done nothing disturbing, noisy or disruptive other than to exist on the terrace of the hotel. I expalined that I had not expected the child, but that I had allowed them to book in when they arrived because a) they had no where else to stay and were exhausted from their long drive, b) I had not had a chance to discuss with the parents how long they planned to stay or that the hotel was unsuitable for children and c) as we had very few guests at that time felt that we were in no financial position to turn away three paying guests. It was in this context that I made my 'commercial decision' comment. I also apologised profusely to both the reviewer and his wife for the distress this single child had caused them during the course of my explanation for her arrival and endeavoured to assure them that they would not be troubled by her presence. When the tour operator contacted me and explained that they had effectively sold the holiday as 'child free' and that they were now in breach of their contract with 'their' guests I went immediately to the childs' family, explained the situation and said that they would have to find accommodation somewhere else. Which they did. They were naturally disappointed and distressed, but have since been back on several occasions for dinner. In relation to the comments about our menu, I can categorically state that apart from the odd occasion when something is 'off' the menu (usually because it is so popular that it all gets eaten quickly) all of the dishes on our comprehensive menu of home cooked food is always available and as far as I can recall was available when the reviewer and his wife were staying. We do have daily specials, which are in addition to the normal menu and it is highly subjective to call this 'what is to hand'! We are a small family run hotel, our food is home cooked and the daily specials are made from fresh ingredients bought in for the sole purpose of offering our guests something 'extra' to what is on the menu. Our daily specials are often requests coming from the guests themselves, Steak and kidney pie and fresh fruit crumbles to name but two! Clearly this reviewer felt very strongly that we as hotel management let them down and somehow spoiled their holiday. I am much saddened by this, since it is our aim to ensure that all of our guests enjoy their holidays and go home with happy memories of their stay in the Levent Hotel. As a business we want people to return and we want people to recommend us to their friends. The hotel upgrade enjoyed by this reviewer and his wife appears to have made amends for their disatisfaction.

LOVELY WELCOME!
I arrived in the early hours of the morning to find Lynda and Yakup waiting up for me with a lovely cup of Rosehip tea! This was in April and for a few days I was 'The Guest' and felt very special. The Hotel is small but lovely, very clean, very welcoming with a lovely personal touch. I stayed 3 weeks and feel I have left some very real friends behind. The views are magnificent and a short walk or 'Dolly' ride takes you into Fethiye which is lovely and not too 'touristy' I would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a peaceful... more

nightmare at hotel levent fethiye.
when my partner and I arrived at the hotel we were shown to a very basic room{the hotel was advertised as being air condtioned}when I asked about how to use it I was told it would cost me £40.The food and drink prices were extortionate through exploring Fethiye we discovered the prices were 3 times less than what the hotel was charging. The managment seemed to be very arrogant and ignorant. The staff seemed to only show common cursity to the guest who was buying food and drink from the hotel. While there we witnessed two of the managment... more
Management response from LynLevent

I am the new English owner of this hotel. My Turkish husband and myself will be opening for the 2008 season in May. We have noted all negative (and positive) comments about the hotel and have certainly endeavoured to address all the problems. We have decorated and updated some of the furnishings in the hotel and have a new English/Turkish menu which we consider to be competitively priced. We have made many changes which we believe will make the hotel more comfortable. As a family run hotel our aim is to provide our guests with the best possible service. We welcome returning happy guests are invite the disgruntled to give the hotel another chance.

Good Value For Money
The Hotel was very clean with bedding and towels changed daily. The staff were friendly and helpful and the pool was a delight. There were some steps which could have been a problem for my mother who was on holiday with me but the staff helped in every way possible. The food was good and as alot of the guests were repeat bookings I think that says something about the quality. We would happily stay there again.
Very Very Basic
Having been to Fethiye many times, and had some great holidays at the Hotel Mediterran, then at the Hotel Fethiye( now apartments ), we are quite used to accommodation being basic, but we were not prepared for the no frills approach this place offered. Luckily we had paid a little extra for balconied rooms and as we were with family and had great weather it didn't spoil our holiday. Without a doubt the location is its forte. Fethiye itself has so few hotels and if you prefer to stay in town rather than at Calis there are fewer and fewer... more
The worst hotel I've ever stayed in
This hotel was absolutely filthy. In the two unfortunate nights I stayed there I saw two cockroaches. The floor was stained and very dirty. The beds were small and uncomfortable, and the bathroom was so dirty that I did not take a shower in the room. Further, the hotel staff were unnecessarily rude and there was a US$40 charge to use the air conditioning, even though the rooms are advertisied as "air conditioned." I have never been treated so poorly at a hotel, nor have I ever seen such a dirty hotel room.
