In my oppinion this hotel deserves to have at most 2 (if not 1) stars. Rooms are very small and dirty, service and receptionists are somewhat make you feel that you disturb them in their very important work ;) By the way, they don't have clean towels (!!) and the food is the worst I have ever eaten in a hotel (!!!). The only two things nice about this hotel is that the view from the seventh floor (beach side) is magnificent and that they are organising nice performances (brazil show, some musicians, etc) every evening. Though, there is one bad side of this: hearing Simon Grant ("Specially from Englang! Only tonight!") every two days isn't the best thing I could imagine...

Oh, one more thing - staff know mostly only Spanish language, so it's quite hard to meet someone, with whom you can communicate in English (which is the commonly used language in most of European countries...).

All in all I strongy advice you NOT TO GO to this hotel!

This is by far the worst hotel I have been in! Like others we arrived to a huge line of people waiting only to be told to keep our bags in the bar and wait for a room!

When we finally got into our room the curtains were glued to the wall, so as we tried to pull them back they ripped! We were at the back of the hotel so our view was of a car park - we actually saw the chefs fighting in it one night!

Talking of chefs the food was disgusting! Chips for breakfast, dinner and tea! We ended up eating out for every meal. Don’t get me wrong we did check to see if there was anything edible everyday needless to say they catered for Germans everyday, which is all well and good but we were not the only British to complain about this!

There is a pub around the back does a lovely full English and cheap!

Apart from that, the hotel is dirty, the entertainment is rubbish and the drinks are overpriced! I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone!

Food terrible. Hotel very clean, rooms cleaned every morning. Clean towels every day.

Staff very friendly swimming pool great for kids the only bad thing was the food. No English food at breakfast.

The only English food there was were boiled eggs and that was every day, so it was either sugar donuts or horrible ham and the bread was horrible. Not worth getting up for.

Dinner and tea were the same chips every day.

So my over all conclusion is the food was terrible but the hotel its self was clean.

The Hotel Reymar is without a doubt one hotel that I would never consider staying in again. It began when we arrived, about 9 a.m local time on a Tuesday morning, having just disembarked from a coach that I had been travelling on for some 25 hours previously I walked through the front gates and by the side of a glorious swimming pool. The outside was packed and the bar seemed fairly pleasant. 'Great' I thought, 'Let's just check in, get up to the room and get changed to go swimming.' Errrr... no. After waiting for half an hour in a queue of many people I was told that my room wouldn't be ready for 4 hours and that the suitcases could be dumped in the bar where we must wait to be called.

That was where it began. The drinks were astronomically overpriced, not to mention for the week I was there I had 1 glass that wasn't chipped at the rim. We managed to get early access to our rooms as we had a very ill 2 year old. My first impression was that I was in a prison. Everything that could be white was, with the exception of 4 horrible green throws which I think came from 1973. The paint on the bathroom was chipped beyond belief and the remaining paint had a tinge of dirt about it. I made many new friends on the second night of staying there, and many wound up in my bed, the thing is they were ants and the room was crawling with them, as was the corridor outside.

The cleanliness of the room was on a negative gradient and I suspect that this was because from the time we got there to the time we left the room wasn't really cleaned. The beds weren't made, the sheets weren't changed all week, the floor was in whatever state we left it in, the balcony stayed dusty and the bathroom appliances weren't cleaned. To quote the woman in the room next to mine, 'It is the only hotel that I have had to wipe my feet before leaving it.'

What the cleaners did do was to change the towels, replace any used glasses with what I think were supposed to be clean ones and have the nerve to ask for €9 when my brother accidentally stained the sheet with a henna tattoo.

On that last point I was called back into the room (you see if you're in the room they won't clean it for you, I failed to see the difference) and told off by somebody who spoke no English. Halfway through the monologue I asked if there was anyone who spoke 'Ingles' but she ignored this and carried on. I was then taken downstairs to reception where I had what the woman said translated to me. In German. They basically wanted money for sheets that had probably been superglued to the mattress to save money.

My room (508) had pipes running through paper thin walls probably for the two floors above it so when the guy upstairs from me decided to get up in the middle of the night to have a crap not only did I hear his thudding footsteps along the ceiling I had the authentic cinematic effect of him doing so and flushing toilet on the other side of my bed. In two rooms that I know of (mine and a friends) there were three headboards, none of which were the same as another and so I am tempted into the belief that they were in fact carefully selected from a roadside skip.

The hotel had a number of rules:

1: Shoes must be worn at all times. Trust me, see the state of the floor and you'd be scared not to.

2: You must be dry when entering the hotel.

So basically if you, like I did, needed the toilet when the cleaners were doing the outside toilets you must first stand outside trying to simulate the shape of a star to make sure that you have removed every drip from every orifice, for half an hour. The pool I have to say was pleasant, not amazing but quite a nice place to be when you're bored of being crawled over by ants.

The food was fine if you enjoy mystery meals (a classic, and I'm not joking, is squid that looks exactly the same as onion rings.) If you are a fussy eater there is a nice bar around the corner or you can have cold, stale chips and bread and that's it. They also give you near cold hot chocolate every morning but if you want a drink at night be prepared to part with €1.80 for what is basically a can of pop. I have cleaner cutlery I use to mix polyfilla and they flip the table cloth every other day to keep it clean.

The location is good, at the end of the main front of Santa Susannah and if you like dance music from the club next door until the early hours then you'll love it. And if you get a back room, which is a high probability, You get a lovely view of the car park, another hotel and a block of private apartments.

I would say the final problem with the hotel was the entertainment. here is the schedule:

Monday: Singer

Tuesday: Singer

Wednesday: Singer

Thursday: Singer

Friday: Singer

Saturday: Singer

Sunday: Singer

I am deadly serious, this is what you are in for every night at 9, unless you choose to stay in your room, which you won't because of all of the ants.

The only one I found really worth seeing is Simon Grant who also plays the guitar but don't go here especially for that as he plays in many other hotels as well.

I am disappointed with the hotel as it could be good but it is simply not looked after. I was tempted to go and have a look inside the other 3* hotels along the front but I'm sure that would only have given me more to complain about.

I, my wife and family friend go to the Reymar every year.

We find the hotel to be very clean, food is of a very high standard, the staff always have time for the clients staying there.

We have even got very friendly with them. We send each other e-mails, send Christmas cards and phone each other every month.

The staff always make our stay one to remember and we are going back this year!

This was a very good holiday for me staff all very friendly, Santa Susanna is a beautiful place to visit. I would recommended to any one of any age. There’s alot to do locally.

Markets restaurants and very good night life .the Tropicana disco being my personal favourite. The hotel is very clean and food also very high standard. The beach is very close to the hotel and Barcelona is a short train journey away, also a very good market at night along the prom.

Santa Susanna captured my heart and i will return very soon , and hopefully stay in the Raymar.

I recently went to the Hotel Reymar, note that it is NOT the Hotel Reymar Playa. We got confused about that one.

We got there at ten, and we had to wait until one for our room, it was a boring morning, but when we finally got to our room it was great, it was room 233, but seriously at night time you have no chance of any sleep, one because of the disco over the road, and two because of the ants in your bed, at about 6 o clock in the morning there is non stop noise of motorbikes and mopeds, and then at about 7-8 there is breaking bottles, and bin men, from the hotel kitchen over the road for the Hotel Cartago Nova,

I hate to be miserable, but if you go to the restaurant check the glasses and cutlery, seriously they’d be cleaner if u nipped over the road and washed them in the sea. I hate to sound like I’m moaning, I’m not the moaning type, honest :-) but the truth has to be told sometimes.

Staff were friendly and always made you laugh, but the hotel owner was there, and no joke, she WAS MAD. She told holidaymakers in her hotel to move sunbeds off the wall because it might scratch the paint, and then she had the sunbeds chained down in a row.

Also the food is great if your not bothered about what you eat, OR if you like chips for breakfast dinner and tea, you will also like the food if you eat custard for pudding after every meal. Seriously, I wouldn't recommend you don’t go there, but I wouldn’t recommend that you do.

I do recommend the excursion to Rupit and Besalu though it was absolutely brilliant. I also recommend the very popular trip to Barcelona as well, we got to see the fountains and shopped at the Ramblas, by the way we were in KFC and had our dinner, before you would even get to the front of the toilet cue in McDonalds, save your time and go to KFC.

We also went to the Nou Camp stadium, it was ok, but we’re not really into football :-) but altogether, we had a lovely holiday with lots of happy memories, but I recommend the hotel Maripins which is just a five minute walk away. Look it up :-)
