Lindos Athena Apartments

Please, please dont go here. The male owners were very unfriendly and positively rude to us. The experience was so awful. To sum up this week of hell would be, unfriendly and extremely dirty - beyond basic.

The appartments here are the usual basic Greek standard. Most rooms have a great view especially the balcony view which mostly covers the Accropolis.
The service is very warm and welcome and the staff are ALWAYS happy to help and engage in conversation.
Pool is never too busy and with the bar opening 9am-3am it's hard to to make a night of it at the pool bar.
BBQ's are on Sunday for 15 euro's and is well worth it!
The local shop is literally at the entrance of the appartments.
If any negatives perhaps the price of air con - 120 euro's for 2 weeks is a bit steap I think.
Overall these appartments are really worth staying in and because of the friendly staff this makes it all the more worth while.

we have been to the apartments on three seperate occations and have had a fantastic time, i have read some of the reviews and cannot believe people are being negative.if you compare the customer service from all staff especially theo and alex {see you soon lads} the value for money,the location,and the friendly nothing is too much trouble attitude then for me that adds up to a great holiday.we will be certainly revisiting athena again and visiting soccraties bar whenever possible.

Feel a bit of 'odd person out' here - my husband and I spent a week ( our first holiday to any Greek island) at Athena Apartments in Lindos and definately cannot recommend this holiday. The studio apartments are very, very basic ( eg 1 teaspoon, one small glass and one larger glass) We did pay 60 euros for air conditioning and 20 euros for use of a safe, the air conditioning was essential or I'm sure we would have fried. The cooling unit however was placed above the door and hardly reached round the corner to where the beds were. Linen and towels were changed most days and the apartment was clean , the shower had little power indeed one evening the water was finished by the time my husband tried to have a shower.
Pool area was untidy and dirty with cigarette ash and certainly not suitable if you are not a cat lover (many of them roamed around pool area and bar all day )
Although we are fairly agile, active pensioners we found the walk down to the village to eat a very steep almost dangerous descent and had to get a taxi up every time. (4 euros a time) No place for wearing high heels !!!
We spoke to our holiday rep and his answer was 'this will be a bit of a culture shock if first visit to Greek Islands '
Some lovely scenery and reasonably priced meals but we will definately not return.

This is a holiday destination and a half you cannot fault lindos itself magical ,the Athena is the ultimate in chilled, the staff Theo and Alex Lock up your daughters !! are brilliant mostly nothing is too much trouble the rooms are clean the grounds are lovely look out for David the gardener (he has the dreads) also he runs a bar in town called Karma its a Reggie bar just the ticket in that heat check him out!! and his chill out room Its a must go for couples Enjoy

We got married in Lindos in Jun/Jul 06 and stayed here. Alex and Theo (staff) were brilliant so friendly and made are stay so enjoyable. The apartments were clean and tidy. The pool was very clean and it was so relaxing. On the night on the wedding Alex threw us a party with lots of food and cocktails. I would defo go back.

wow lindos athena what can i say..............
*** the staff are friendly and kind happy to help but in there own time! ordering food from there all day snack bar can take time!!!!!!!!
*** the pool is not massive but big enough to enjoy!
*** u may of heard about the unfinished building sight next to the athena - i did before we went and were very worried but it's only small and there was never any noise nobody working on it for the whole stay and heard the same from many other people!
*** there is a gr8 shop right next to the athena and has the same prices as all the other shops in the area!
*** make sure u keep young girls away from alex!!!!!
*** the day after arrival there is a meeting with ur rep but booking trips with them are more expensive than buying them from little shops in the town!
*** the walk down into the town is fine and no problem not reccomened in high heals!!
but the taxi back up for 4 euros is well worth the money but many people manage to walk but late at night with the taxis wising up the rd can be dangerous!!!
*** if ur looking to go to rhodes lindos is simply the place to stay on the island!!! the athena is one of the gr8 places to stay in lindos but there are a few better places for the money athena is simply fab!!!!
*** if anybodyis getting married in lindos u shud hope that ur wedding co-ordinator is effie coz she is simply the best!!!

*** we went last year to the athena and our currently booking our holiday to go back this year but will not be returning to athena as there are now better places to stay in lindos for less money!!!!
