Myself and family have just come back from this Hotel and I can only describe it as Paradise! No Idea what the bad reviews are about!
I am very fussy when it comes to Hotels but I could not fault the place, its huge every apartment block has its own private pool but you can go in any, we always got a sunbed and the food areas were perfect! Ive never seen such hard working people. The place was just fantastic!

This was mine and my fiance's first holiday together, and although we came back a few pounds heavier and it rained for 4 of the 7 days we had a fantastic time.
The room we had was emaculate and when you opened the patio doors you walked straight onto the pool. it was amazing.
The food was delicious and we favoured the chinese, greek and italian for our evening meals but we enjoyed the buffet style restaraunt for most of our other meals. At breakfast, there were chefs cooking omelttes and pancakes fresh and we were always served with pleasent staff.
The entertainment was more appropriate for children however we joined in with the music quiz and it turned out to be quite fun. For entertainment in the day we took a taxi into town which the reception staff were happy to order for us and we rented quad bikes and did some shpping. We also hired equipment from reception and went playing tennis (in the rain) but it was really fun.
I have been to five star all inclusive hotels in a few countires and i went with the attitude well its in greece so it wont be the standard as it is in England or Dubai and we were surprised and content with the level of service and quality of everything we were presented with.
My only concern was that another couple that we met had to move rooms due to ants in their room but the reception seemed to find them a room quickly.
I would recommend this to anyone.

I haven't stayed in a 5 star hotel before so I can't really comment on that aspect but when I studied the hotel brochure on their website I knew that I should take it with a pinch of salt. How wrong I was! The brochure doesn't do it justice. The resort was massive, the hotel was very clean and beautifully decorated and the views form the beach were stunning! My room [superior double] didn't have a sea view but was conveniently located. The food was very tasty and I found all the staff to be eager to help. It was the end of season but almost all services were available.
TOP TIPs:
DO
*Check the salt and pepper pots before using as the staff often put the salt in the pepper one and vice versa.
*Book a free 1 hour slot in the spa indoor heated pool. Heaven!
*Take a fly swatter - quite a few wasps and flies by the outdoor bar areas [but I never got stung!].
*Ask and you will get! I often asked to sit by the window in the restaurant and the staff were happy to oblige. The views from there were amazing!
*Take every opportunity to grab a cuppa from the bars, there aren't any tea making facilities in the rooms.
*Try the Greek, Chinese and Italian restaurants for a change of scene.
* Oh,and if you drink spirits ask for an extra coke/lemonade with your drink as the bar staff tend to the mix spirits in a 80/20 ratio [80 being the spirit!].

We stayed at the Mitis and the staff were great and the room was lovely and clean but the only problem was the lack of entertainment especially when the weather wasnt that great. The entertainment staff were great with the kids and organised stuff during the day but there wasnt a lot for the adults to do except eat and drink, the acts didnt start till nearer 10 at night, there was no access to telly except BBC news and a Discovery Chanel so when it was pouring down with rain it could be a bit boring. The food was fabulous and I dont know if this was just the case because it was near the end of the season or what - if the weather had been good everyday there wouldnt have been a problem - watch for the wasps in October - they are nasty!!

We have just arrived back from Corfu having just spent a week without sleep, Our room 317 was at the end of a corridor which was adjacent to 2 - pool tables 8 driving machine simulators and 2 toy grabbers. The noise from the machines plus the people operating them was horirfic plus the noise from the bar area was unbelievable, this was all amplified by the volume of the area in which the machines were situated. We were supposed to have been given a superior room with veiw of the sea all we got was kids playground and when we went to the reception to ask about the room we were met by the reception giving us a very aggressive answer & told to come back next week.
if you had young children the hotel is fine in most cases as there is entertainment for the children. as for Adult there is No entertainment whatsoever either in daytime or evening and only TV to watch was BBC News Channel, others in either Greek or German. The staff were very arrogant and gave the impression that everything was really too much trouble for them,Unless one wanted to drink themselves stupid every day there was nought else to do.
We never saw a manager the whole time we were there or if we did we never recognised him/her there was no photographs telling us who was in charge at all.

This is a long but honest review.
I have been to Corfu on many occasions, and this was my first all inclusive holiday.
I have always found the Greek people to be very welcoming - helpful and friendly...........until now.
This was a special family holiday for which we paid over £9000.
The good points: It's a very clean and generally well constructed and maintained hotel, with very good, albeit basic food.
Most of the staff were friendly and helpful.
The saltwater swimming pools were nice and clean, but with the caveat regarding the steps below.
The bad points: We had booked for our party of 13 to be in 5 rooms, when we got there they only had 4 rooms available for us for the whole holiday. One of these had to be vacated the next day, and although they offered another room we were still left with several people sharing who shouldn't have been (children / teenagers of both sexes).
We had paid for mostly 'superior' rooms which I doubt even exist.....we will be tackling our tour operator regarding all of these problems.
There are not enough sunloungers both at the beach and the pools, and the hotel do not enforce their own "you cannot reserve a lounger by leaving a towel on it" rule, you would have to get down to the beach / pool by 7:30 to stand any chance of getting 1 let alone the 13 which we needed.
Watersports........that is just a joke.
I'm saving the best (ahem worst) till last.....the holiday was a double birthday celebration, on their birthday, one of them took a tumble over the 'really' badly designed and implemented steps that lead down from the main hotel and broke her wrist and is now in plaster. The steps in question have a drop of around 6" at one end with around 12" at the other end..........I have never seen anything like it before. There are no painted edges to any of the steps around the complex or in the pool where just about everyone stumbles on them.
And finally, when we checked out on the last day, the manager announced that we had stolen about 12 towels from the room we had just vacated and wanted to charge us 40 euros for each of them, unless they could search our luggage......I was absolutely fuming at this point but had no choice but to let them do this because they threatened us with the Police if we didn't pay up or allow the search.
Of course we hadn't had their towels, but even after their search they didn't see fit to offer any sort of apology for this totally arrogant act on their part, they just said it must have been a mistake by one of their housemaids.
I would love the hotel to respond to any and all of my statements made above.

I was in three Mitsis Hotels (tour operator-Neckermann Poland) already: Rinella in Kreta - the worst one -, second - Narida in Kos - so, so, but the Roda Beach in Corfu is very good one (food-O.K. in , accomodation-O.K., staffs- O.K.)

Well after searching and going through all possible reviews we decided to go for Mitsis Roda beach Hotel.
Well reception staff are just plain rude and do not want to know any concern you have they just fob you off, we booked a superior room there is no such thing they get you to pay an extortion amount for a superior room and you get a mini bar and the usual shampoo and body lotion which if you use on sun burn stings the hell out of you. I have read a review by someone saying not to bad mouth you must speak to the manager well that is impossible you get the head receptionist and that is that, 5* my a**e.
The entertainment is a joke all the shows are the animation team prancing around on the stage miming to silly songs no originality whatsoever, then through the day you will get them coming round bothering you trying to get you to join in the pathetic activities in I might add the hottest part of the day, same thing for 10 days, boring.
Water sports HA!!!!!!!!!!! there are 3 pedal's on the beach which you need the legs of a Russian shot put to pedal them, that’s if they get back to the beach without something going wrong with them, there are 3 canoe's for over 400 people, no jet ski's which are advertised !!!There is a boat which comes along with a few inflatables and charges anything from 10 to 15 euro’s for 90secs!!!!!!!!!!! That’s the water sports.
The bar staff and the restaurant staff are the most pleasant and courteous people I have ever met it’s a shame that the French and Germans don’t reciprocate the same in return. Mohammad the life guard is also a very hard working man taking care of all ages on the beach and at the pools. There is very much a nationality divide in this complex. The three restaurants on the beach are a night mare to book we tried for 7 nights to get into one without any luck but 20 Euros with the reception and you can get into anyone you like at any time. The pool bar is a great substitute for the sauna! If you have small children and like playing cards in an evening this resort will suit you fine as there is nothing for adults.

We have been a third time to Roda Beach Hotel(2006,2009,2010). I advice all famlies to ALWAYS bring meds for the stomach bugs, sunburn, and blisters on the feet.It has nothing to do if a Hotel or Inn is good or bad to get food poisoning, never had this problem in Roda Beach hotel!!Very warm countries like Greece can have potensially food poisoning problems no matter where you eat. There is such a variety of FRESH veggies and fruit in Roda Beach,do not take the risk of eating meat products in the dinner buffets in the main dinningroom that was cooked(logically) already in the morning.
My one boy has a very sensitive skin and always get rushes from pools and the sea, in Roda Beach Hotel he swam in the main pool with no problems, but I always avoid pools with many people, go Sept/Oct or May/June, prizes better and not too many people.
The staff are always trying their best, learn a few greek words, like Please and Thank you,it always put a smile on someone's face.I am sad to read the bad reports on Roda Beach Hotel, I have been in many places in Greece and Europe and Roda Beach Hotel is by far one of the best to have a family holiday!!!!!!If you encounter a problem, go and speak with management, they are always willing to make your stay the best. Do not 'bad mouth' a place if you did not talk FIRST to the Manager of the Hotel.

I have just spent a week in this beautiful hotel with my partner. We stayed in a family room (even though there was only the 2 of us) away from the main hotel with a small pool just underneath our balcony. This was heaven !! we spent all day around the main pool - but went for a cooling "dip" in our quiet pool and had a relax in the sun before gong back to our room.(which had a fantastic view) The only down side of this pool (and of all the other pools inside the complex) was that it was that they were all filled with salt water
The food in the hotel was plentiful, tasty, and of very good quality. The staff were always welcoming and very polite and we never had to wait for long before a table became available.
We booked our holiday through teletext holidays just 3 weeks before we went and although we had a fridge in the room - it was empty!........when we asked a reception we were told it was because of our booking (we mustn't have paid as much as some guests)? This however was not a problem as we had adequate drink from the many bars in the hotel and filled water bottles up from the restaurant to put in the fridge for night time
The staff seem to work very long hours to make sure that all the clients are well looked after and nothing was too much trouble for them. The entertainment staff in the hotel and around the pool during the day are good fun and get everyone involved (if the guests want to that is) with poolside games and the afternoon "Coffee Quiz" !!
We went down to the beach only once during our stay, but I found the sea not deep enough to swim in (fantastic for families with small children though), although we did book to go to the Chinese and Greek restaurants which were at the side of the beautiful sea with fantastic views.
We took a torch with us (thanks to trip advisor) and in the evening walked up the beach to Roda for a change (Smileys Bar is fantastic for Greek Dancers on Wednesday night) and we booked our boat trip to Corfu town whilst we were there (thanks again to trip advisor) this saved us 11 euros each for the same trip booked through the hotel.
We had a great day out in Corfu town (an hour and a half on the boat) but the weather was so hot we spent the 3 and a half hours there flitting from bar to bar to keep cool. Another hour and a half sailing back to board the coach back to the hotel.. but a great day out just the same.
We thoroughly loved our week long stay at the Mitsis Roda Beach Hotel and Spa and would definately recommend any of our friends and family to book a holiday there
