superb! rooms are fairly basic, very clean, someone was changing the sheets and cleaning but we never saw them so we were never disturbed, very clean pool and all the staff were very friendly and helpful, I would certainly recommend this hotel and hope to be going back soon.

Just got back from Katerina. Even better than we thought!! Room on B&B basis quite roomy, faced the new crazy golf, although bath a bit small!! Breakfast very sufficient. Food around pool bar excellent & staff all within the hotel are very friendly. Hotel very clean, beds made every day & room cleaned. Hotel is situated in the right spot for easy access to everythng within the resort, but not noisy. We weren't getting enough for our euros whilst we were there but i think it's pretty much the same everywhere at the mo. Only snag we found was that there is NO beach, only tiny bits( no promenade) nearest is a free bus ride away or local train. Plenty restaurants & bars, for all ages. Must admit though entertainment is much needed as resort wasn't busy whilst we were there, expected to get busy towards end june til sept. Overall, well worth going for a relaxing break!!!! Met some lovely people.

I have just returned from a stay at...

Oct 2007, Miss V Hewitt

I have just returned from a stay at the hotel, it was my first time to Zante and won't be the last. The hotel is lovely apart from the hard beds, the rooms have air con, a t.v and a hair-dryer. The location of the hotel is good, near to all of the shops however there isn't much of a beach in Argassi. The staff at the hotel are really nice and the rep, John was brilliant.
There is loads to do in Zante and I would recommend the island hopper to Kefalonia, Simply Zante and Sunday night live excursions. The Sunday night live was excellent and we had a brilliant night. As it was nearing the end of the season, Argassi was quiet but it is a lovely place to go and have a relaxing holiday. I would recommend staying at the hotel and certainly recommend going to Zante for a holiday.

Oct 2007, Ms Debra Scott

My partner and I stayed at The Katerina Palace from 8th to 15th Oct '07. Found hotel rooms very basic but clean. The beds were hard and squeaky. We were staying on the bed and breakfast option, the breakfast ok but not worth rushing up for! No fridge or kettle in room (think they should be provided even if you are not staying in studios). No shower fixing on wall so when showering you have to hold the shower head and wash and the same time, no shower curtain/screen so bathroom floor ends up really wet and dangerous when getting out! Cleaners in most days and do good job.
Nice pool area although I can imagine in high season it would be extremely difficult to get a sunbed as nowhere near enough space if hotel is full.
We hired a quad bike for the day (Euro15) and visited Kalamaki, Laganas and Zante Town which was a great day! Nice places to eat are Ethnic and Zorbas (both serving traditional Greek and English food) or the Chinese Restaurant on left at bottom on street. The Beer Academy (to left of hotel as you walk out) served good cocktails at very reasonable price (Euro 3.50) and had good atmosphere despite its name! Avoid the Factory unless you like very loud music and drunken teenagers! Not much of a beach at Argassi, but travel to Kalamaki and decent one there and at Laganas.

I loved this holiday!
Hotel is really nice and staff even nicer especially the night porter who will have you chatting all night.
Rooms are basic but what more do you need? You’ll spend all day by pool and nights out. If you go here, go to Beer Academy best bar by far. Staff are lovely and there’s a great atmosphere.

Hotel was clean, new towels/room...

Oct 2007, Dr D G Morgan

Hotel was clean, new towels/room cleaned everyday, however basic (hair dryer not the best, shower without curtain and hand helded). Air con at extra charge, safe boxes in reception, not in your room.
Pools are excellent, sunbed space is cramped and pool bar food is very good. Apartments are in an excellent location. Beach is not a beach! Entertainment in the resort is poor, pubs/clubs are limited, always seemed to end up in beer academy, and Magic mushroom club is the locals place.
We ate at most places, turns out the cheapest produces the best pasta called Lovely Snack, check out the in the oven pasta. Would also recommend the place with the open oven (for pizzas) and the one next door to Lovely Snack, to the right.
Don't bother booking 2 weeks, there's nothing to do, unless you plan on relaxing in the sun, reading some hobo's life story in week 2. Airport transfers are the quickest I've ever had.

Me and my boyfriend just got back...

Sep 2007, Miss N White

Me and my boyfriend just got back from a week stay at the Katerina Palace, the hotel was lovely, very clean and staff friendly. Two good sized swimming pool's, the poolside snack bar served decent food during the day and was open late for a drink or two. We were at the bottom pool mostly just because it was quieter.
I would have given the hotel 10/10 except the first night we got there we had no water for a few hours when we were trying to get ready to go out, and the breakfast wasn't up to much was just cereal fruit and toast (try the snack academy just over the road for a good full english).
The location was really good as well except there's not much to do in Argassi and not much of a beach, it was only 10- 15 mins bus journey from the airport. The mini golf next door to the hotel is worth a look, and the beer academy for a few games of pool.
There's some nice restaurants too Castaways rooftop restaurant is worth a visit or two (It rained the first time we went there so we all had to move inside but it was still really nice). Doubles steak house is quite nice too, and the funny man outside will do his best to get you to go in, Palmyra also worth a visit.
Overall the holiday was really good and I would go back to the same hotel again, its perfect for a nice relaxing week in the sun.

I have been to Zakinthos 10 times I returned as I made so many friends there.
The Katerina Palace is where I stayed the last few times, definitely the best hotel in Argassi. Katerina the owner is lovely and all her staff and herself make you feel so welcome.
The hotel is clean there is a lovely breakfast for the hotel stays and also a pool bar which also serves food.
If you do go to Zakinthos make sure you visit the Target Bar this bar has the best views of the island. It is at the top of the mountain but the owners Nicos and Dennis do free taxis up and down the hill daily. As requested.

Aug 2007, Miss S Miller

The Katerina is a very basic apartment complex; it has everything you need but needs modernising. The couple who own it are lovely though, really friendly and helpful.
The room was cleaned every day and clean towels every other day, and if we needed more we just asked and there was no problem. The bar next door is fab; really good. The one opposite is a nightmare, its really loud and music plays till 3 in the morning sometimes, so we brought ear plugs.
Katerina is close to the shops but quite far from the beach but once you get there is lovely. I would recommend using the pool at Ionnis and Danny’s next door there is two. The second one is hidden so not many people knew about it, in fact we had it to ourselves for about 6 days.

Jul 2007, Mrs P Lee

Lovely hotel, couldn't really fault it apart from hard beds.
Argassi rather livelier that we would have preferred. Hired a car for a few days which was well worth it and not expensive.
Air conditioning was available in hotel, payable locally and rather expensive, around £5 a night.
Plenty of places to eat and drink in Argassi but also worth visiting some other small places.
