My husband and I have just come back from a two week stay at the Villa cortes and we loved it.
We were on honeymoon and the staff made sure we were looked after. The room we stayed in was 299 and is a very peaceful room overlooking the pool and the beach.
The room was cleaned everyday and we had clean towels twice a day. We were bed and breakfast, the breakfast was a buffet style. You had a wide range of choice from Fruit to a full fry up.
I would deffinitely recommend it and we are thinking on going back in August.

Mt boyfriend and I stayed here for one week at the end of September 2006, this is a lovely hotel, the staff were very friendly and helpful and the rooms and bathrooms of a high standard. We had a room overlooking the pool which also gave us a good view of the sea. We had a very pleasant an relaxing stay in fact we are going to stay again in Feb (2008) over valentines day, looking forward to it.

Lavish hotel in Mexican hacienda style sets the scene on arrival at the lobby which is furnished with more sofas than a furniture warehouse, plus marbled floors, chandeliers, lots of exposed ironwork and random objects d'art in a quasi-Spanish style. Throughout the hotel this theme is maintained with decidedly eccentric paintings of fat women every few feet. Perhaps it's an Inca thing....
The hotel has no fewer than 6 restaurants. I visited 3, and the food was of good standard throughout. particular mention must go to the breakfast which is buffet style but immense. On an average day, you might start with unlimited Cava and juice of practically any fruit, followed by a selection of around 15 different cheese and the same number of cold meats. A griddle chef is always on hand to cook omlettes, tortillas or crepes to your order. Various breads, rolls and fresh exotic fruit is available, as are cakes and pastries which varied every day. For hot food, there was scrambled, fried or boiled eggs, with bacon, sausages and beans. This doesn't even mention the large selection of cereals, yoghurts, tea blends, coffees or water. Superb!
The hotel has a large pool with waterfall which is situated in well managed tropical gardens. There are a number of small bridges to take you over streams which wind through the hotel grounds all of which contain fish and wild water plants.
There is a newly opened spa complex which is still being fitted out. At the time of visit only one of the 4 planned pools was open. it was reported to be on the cool side, but until this is operating at full capacity expect some possible disappointments. The spa offers a range of beauty and relaxation treatments.
The hotel is located at the "quiet" end of Playa de Las Americas, and I noticed no external noise at night. It is directly facing the beach, although it is not a sand beach at this point. A key operated door allows private access to the beach area and hotel owned restaurant for guests.
Negatives? There appeared to be an infestation of ants or small insects in our room, which attacked the food that we had bought for picnic lunches,. Even when putting food in the hotel fridge, the insects managed to get in and survive there. perhaps this is inevitable in Tenerife, but I would have thought that it was avoidable in a 5 star hotel. The hotel managed to charge us for room service that we had not ordered but this was ironed out on checkout.
Internet terminals would have been a welcome addition to the in room access ports.
Overall, this is a very comfortable hotel in an excellent location with quiet and efficient staff. Recommended for a relaxing visit to Tenerife.
