I enjoyed my time at the Queen. The staff were all very friendly especially Jake (the chief) and the reception girl.
Pool very pretty and modern. Comfy cusions on all the beds which were free. If you asked the staff they could bring your drinks to you while sunbathing, which was very relaxing. The poolbar bar however does not deal with cash during the day but you can pay your bill daily to avoid big bills. Maid service daily. Room always kept very clean.
The hotel had different entertainment on everynight of the week so if you go for the 2 weeks its good because you can space them out. I would recommend the Turkish night as they had a female bellie dancer (blonde), a group of break dancers they were fantastic and then the male and female turkish folk dancers were also good and gave you the feel of turkey. The food was nice that night which was a Barbecue/Buffet and nicely presented and you could help yourself as many times as you want. Ladies night only £10 for everything!. buy one cocktail get one free and then the pool party to finsh it. Make sure you were ur bikini under ur dress if you are going.
The hotel was in a great location. The beach was close enough just a 4min walk you pass a really nice hotel on the way called the Royal Arsalik Beach. So its a nice walk and u can buy stuff for the beach on your way down. I would recommend sunbathing at the part called Bacardi Beach. It had lovely bed and had a special part you could go out on a pier, get a bed and catch the lovely sea breeze. And they offer waitor service. I found it quite romantic if you were there as a couple.
The nightlife in Gumbet is ok if you like to party but again getting the bus ino Bodrum is well worth it as the Clubs are really good some like Ibiza.
Plenty of supermarkets a stone throw away but some can be quite pricey for alchahol etc. I would recommend going to the large one which I was told by the rep Ritchard that it was a lot cheaper, its at the other side of the resort which you have to go by bus (dolmus) only 2lira £0.90 cheap as chips.
Small markets round about for clothes but I would recommend getting the bus in to Bodrum only 5 mins away and still only 2lira the shops were amazing.
Resturants at your feet, loads to choose from offereing different deals. Here are some below;
The Yucca next door has the best food and had live music so I would defo recommend it. Doormen very pushy to get you in there mind you but you have to just tell them you have eaten if you dont want to eat in there. They had good fishbowl cocktails and really nice wine.
The Manderine a couple of doors along was ok, good value but needed more entertainment. They also could do with a decorator or a total revamp.
There is also many other restuarants down the other side of bar street which are good and some nice fish resturants at the beach a metre from the sea, some tables on the sand which was lovley, never tried them though as I had a dodgey stomache and did not want to take that chance.
Overall would defo go back to Gumbet again and will be there in Sept for a week.

Just arrived from 2 week stay at the Queens resort hotel, the best holiday I have had so far !
As soon as we arrived at the hotel the staff were friendly warm and very welcoming , Murat and Yavuz being amazing all holiday and making the 2 weeks even more special. The hotel was very clean, the maids going in every day and the towels getting changed every 3 days. The pool area was small , but it was far better because there wasn't many people around and it was easy to get in and out of the pool. You easily got a sunbed, if people were not using them but towels were down they moved them straight away so it gave everybody a fair chance. The ladies night it a fantastic night, with half price food and cocktails for ladies, also fantastic entertainment with belly dancers break dancers and a pool party, were you and all the staff jump in the pool ! Also another great night was the Turkish night were you got all your food and entertainment for 10 pound.
The hotel was in a fantastic place , not to near bar street were there is loud noise , but only a five minute walk from there. Also the beach was only a five minute walk were the sun beds are free and free internet. A place i would not recommened is planet yucca the restaurant next door to Queens, were the people on the door are far to rude and pushy if you do not want to go in there.
Another amazing bar what made our holiday was a bar called Smiley's restaurant and fun pub and fun pub was exactly what it was. We happened to go in there for just a nirmal evening meal what was lovely. And after 9.30 that is when it turned into a fub pub. With all the waiters taking their shirts off and getting up to dance moving the tables back and you always ending up joining in. Theres to many of them to name but look out for Yilmaz , Marty , Phicco , Ali there's many many more and there all as fantastic as each other. All night they are dancing till after 3.00am they will have you break dancing belly dancing and the men on the bar with their boxer shorts on. We went their quite a lot on our holiday because it was that fantastic, if you are looking for a fun place to spend your evening then GO TO SMILEYS !
There ia lots of great restaurants out there in Gumbet and we had a great meal near enoguh every night, Cheers restaurant was fab , and we were full to the brim after going there.
The boat trip and turkish bath were both great days out as well, and you dont realise how mucky you actually are.
Overall we all had an amazing time at the Queens resort and in Gumbet , and would reccomend it to anybody going, very jelous of anyone going soon, was a very emotional fare well and we were all in tears because we really did not want to go home !

had a good two weeks at the queens resort even if a little tired after the airport visa saga and the interesting bus commentry from the rep even though we arrived at night and you couldnt see anything.
loved the hotel, toilet rolls in plentiful supply for my mate andy useful not having to pay cash at the bar even though there were some big beer bills to be paid at reception
reccomend yucca bar for food and if you go there regulary you can get anything up to 50% discount of the bill

We have just returned from a week at the Queens Resort Gumbet, there were a party of 8 of us ages ranging from 15 to 63 and there was something for everyone.
The apartments were spotlessly clean and staff very friendly, the only person there that didnt speak excellent english was the receptionist which is a bit unusual for Turkey. Some one has mentioned that you cant pay for your drinks as you go along which we were not very kean on at first because they dont give you an itemised bill but after a cople of days we discovered you can pay it every day if you want which was a lot better and easier to keep on top of what you were spending - you just have to ask at reception and they print that days bill.
Air conditioning quite expensive - 10lira per day but in line with everywhere else in Turkey. Another little tip, a bit cheeky (but so is 10lira a day for Air con), we had 4 rooms and 2 were next to each other, my niece and her friend were next to us so we just shared a remote between us, 1 remote worked any apartment.
Although the rooms were lovely and very clean they were a bit on the small side. They were perfectly fine for 2 people but i wouldnt have liked to have any more than that in there. Again, the kitchen was lovely but not very big. Fine for knocking a sandwich together at lunch or boiling a couple of eggs for breakfast but not for much else.
The turkish bath on site is lovely and again very clean and cost us 40lira which was about £16.00 - beware though, if they ask you if you want a face mask this is not included in the price and was an additional 15lira.
The ladies night was a really good night and this is the only night the loud music went on quite late, other than that the music was turned down quite early.
All in all a very enjoyable week and would deffinately go back again - all 8 of us agreed.

I have been to the Queen resort a number of times and I'm never dissappointed. The staff are lovely and will do anything for you, nothing is too much trouble for them. The bars and restaurants are close by but not close enough to get all the noise. The rooms are cleaned daily. They have a ladies night and also a turkish night which offer a meal and entertainment at a reasonable price. The food is of a good standard. Have already booked for september. Hope you enjoy your time there as much as we do.

me and a friend stayed here july 2008 for two weeks. it was my first time staying in gumbet but i stayed in bodrum the year before and always got the bus here.
the staff were very friendly and funny i miss them!! are room was lovely compared to what i had the year before! although we did ask for a pool view and didnt get 1 but we didnt need 1 we was always out. the pool was nice but there was an issue with sun beds! people would put towels down the night before on really ealry that morning and we were the first people out once and there was no sun beds! luckily are rep came that day and took all the towels off! loved her for that! the entertainment was brilliant i had so much fun on the turkish night! there was belly dancers and breakdancers who i saw the year before so that was nice. they got most people up to join in. then we had a pool party. me and my friend was dressed to go to bar street and they threw us in the pool! it was really funny though. the only thing that us and other guests had problems with was if you had food and drink there you had a tab and paid it off when you left. didnt like that. the location was brilliant!!!!!!! a 5 minute walk from the beach and most importantly for us 5 mins frm bar street! we meet loads of great people out here turkish and english. this was my best holiday ever and i cried so much on my last night! i would definatly recommend this for people who want the beach and night life. the hotel is also a good place for couples and families with children. there is also a turkish spa underneath which is really nice. we didnt use it but they was making new fliers to advertice and asked us to do it, so we got to look around all of it. music is played all day long and quite loud, we loved it but some people might not. it can be noisy at night so don't plan on any early nights! oh and a few times we had to ask for clean towels and are bin to be changed. overall it was excellent and i can't wait to go back!!!

My girlfriend and me have just returned from a 2 week stay at the Queen Resort - Gumbet. We are in our 20’s and this was our first visit to Turkey. Many people had recommended Turkey as a place to visit so we thought that we would give it a go.
Flying from Bristol on a late flight we arrived at the apartments at 4:30 am (Local time) very tired. Our first opinion of the apartment wasn't great, we had one on the ground floor, which prevented us for leaving the windows open when we were not there. The rooms were nicely decorated but they were extremely tiny, I couldn't picture more then 2 people sleeping in them. Your kitchen facilities are 2 hobs, a kettle, a fridge and a sink. If you are planning on doing any catering yourselves then these apartments are not for you, you don’t even get a toaster or a grill.
After a short sleep we were awoken by some kids screaming and shouting from the swimming pool at about 7:30 in the morning, the pool bar then begins blaring house music at 10 am and that music doesn’t stop until around 3 am in the middle of the night. I think a lot of people complained about this but the staff didn’t seem very bothered. I believe they played music during the day to cover up the noise from the building sites next door.
Also the brochure said that you receive a welcome hamper on arrival with things such as bread, tea and coffee, we didn’t seem to have one so we spoke to our rep who checked the brochure to confirm and asked the manager to prepare one. Half an hour later we were delivered a tray with 2 tea bags, a cup of sugar cubes and 1 single serving of butter and jam. So it wasn’t a good start.
You also have to pay 10 lira a day for air conditioning, over a 2 week stay this would cost around £56.
Now out on the streets of Gumbet you can't go anywhere without getting hassled to eat at this restaurant, drink at this bar or come into a this shop. This became very annoying, by the end of the holiday we were crossing the road to avoid getting hassled by these people. This really spoilt our holiday.
That’s most of the bad stuff out of the way, but it wasn’t all bad I have to say.
There are some great places to eat in Gumbet even though every place does every dish you can think of, which makes it difficult to choose one but everything is cheap! A meal for 2 with a bottle of wine will come to about £25-£30.
I thought that it was great that all sun beds on the beach are free and the buses between Gumbet and Bodrum run 24 hours a day for 65p per person.
I did enjoy the pool party on a Wednesday night at the apartments, it felt lovely going for a dip in the evening. The Turkish Night was also good but please be aware that they will try to get you to join in to everything.
To sum up I don’t think that we would return to Gumbet, perhaps we would visit another part of Turkey if we were to go back. I’ve heard that other parts are better. Gumbet never seems to sleep, but perhaps we are just to old for our age.

We stayed at the Queen Resort in June 2007 & had a fabulous week, can definitely wholly recommend the place for cleanliness, value for money, location, general comfort and a whole load of fun.
The guys are absolutely fab & really looked after us the whole week, they like to make sure everyone is ok and happy etc. They work hard and play hard!
Gumbet is a lovely place, plenty of things to do and excursions to go on etc. or just lounge by the pool/on the beach.
My best mate and I are both going back in September and October this year with our respective mums for another week of fun in the sun and I can't wait! Top class.

We went to Gumbet for the very first time. We were a little bit apprehensive about going to turkey, what with all the stuff that had been going on there over the past few weeks. We even considered cancelling our holiday and changing it to somewhere else.
We are so so so pleased that we decided to just go for it. Gumbet was amazing! We stayed at Queens resort, which is a new complex. The presentation was first class. The rooms where beautifully decorated and even had plasma screen TVs. The staff were really welcoming and we have made some great friends there. Umet, Mustofa, Eddy, McKenzi and of course Abidin were such a laugh and made our holiday very special. We have never partied with the staff from a complex before, but these guys were different.
One of our highlights was the Turkish night, held at our apartments. This is every friday and was a great night. If we had any advice to give to someone going to Gumbet, it would be that you should not book up many excursions with your rep. Things like the Turkish bath was great, but other things like the Turkish night that they offered was not so good. Have a look at what is going on in your hotel before you book your trips.
As for Gumbet itself, there is a lot to do. Not only at night but through the day. At night we would suggest, Siesta Soccer Bar on the main strip and also The Roxy. Both of these were amazing nights out. They are the type of places that are good for singles and for families. If you're looking for a bit of a funky night out, we would suggest anywhere on Bar Street. It’s top. Also the Hallikarnos or the Catermaran (maybe not spelt right).
All in all, we had the best holiday ever and can’t put into words how good Gumbet is. We got off our plane in Manchester at 7am and by 12pm we had already booked our next holiday back to Gumbet...only 37 weeks to go!!!!
If any of you have decided to go to Gumbet and are going to be there between June 4th and June 18th give us an email and we will hook up.
Over and out,
Jenny and Vikki
