2nd time we have stayed at the blue rainbow and thinking about going back next year. The rooms are kept clean, towels changed daily, sheets changed now and then, food is average but we cannot fault it the soups are very good, two hot options and there is always cold buffet to choose from, pretty good for a three star hotel in turkey.

Bad Experience
After reading reviews about this hotel booked a week starting 10/05/09. Arrived at 23.15 to find no food ,no drinks available and a surly receptionist. Given our room key and was disapointed in the sizeof the room , a double bed taking up most of the space. no drawers for storage only a wardrobe which was not deep enough for the hangers. Room was clean and with a good view, very good cleaning every day. The food was acceptable but well below what we had previously experienced in Turkey. We were all inclusive but the drinks available were rather limited and the only decent drink was the coffee. On our last day the identity tags to signify you were all inclusive were taken off us at noon and we were told that we could have no food or drink .This was diabolical as we had paid for 6 nights all inclusive and were being denied one days board. We complained to the manager but was told to take it up with our agent (Globespan) Never ever will I go back to this hotel, poor poor customer relations.
Great time in Icmeler
BLUE RAINBOW-ICMELER Stayed for 2 weeks beginning of July 2008-first time in Turkey. Hotel spotless all staff very obligeing and friendly Pool great always very clean. All pubs noisy but silence at midnight on the dot-but they stay open till you leave. All you have to do is say no politely to traders and they will respect you. Will definately go back next year.
Lovely relaxing holiday
Just got back from our stay at the Blue Rainbow in Icmeler, Turkey. I had read reivews before I went, and didn't expect the hotel and food to be up to much. I must say that we were all surprised. The hotel although old, and in need of updating, was very clean and friendly. It was a good size, quiet. The best bit of the hotel was the pool. it was a nice size and very clean, and outside area was very relaxing. The hotel staff were great, special thanks to Ozzy the young bell boy, and the pool bar staff. Food at breakfast was the same thing every day, but the evening meal was good. Everything looked clean. The location was very good, with the beach a 1 min walk away, and restaurants and bars just outside the door. Music bars stop playing at midnight, but the bars stay open until you leave. The resort is very pretty, and clean. The Blue Rainbow bar just beneath is fun, with dancing waiters. You must visit the Stella Show, which is a drag artist from Blackpool - very funny. The only thing I didn't like about the resort was all the hassling the local barmen and traders did, it drove me mad in the end. This put me off from going back again. Denise & Lauren Francis
top place
We stayed at this hotel end of june for two weeks and found at to be really good clean hotel, bedding changed every day ,staff super friendly from the owner down to the chambermaids, special mention to bar staff at the pool bar who where there or all your needs.needs a spot of paint here and there just that a small point. Hotel central for every thing beach ,bars, shopping. We are going back next year but just B+B,as there is a lot of fantastic places to eat at night. The bar blue rainbow underneath the hotel was tops for a night out if you did not like to go to far staff fantastic ,really helpful
Perfect for the beach
Blue Rainbow is perfect for the beach, about 3 minutes walk away.If you get a room at the top you will get great views, either of the sea or the mountains. It has a lift which runs up the outside of the building so you get great views of the sea on your way up.The rooms are a good size and are kept very clean We were half board for two weeks but found the evening meals a bit repetitive after a few days so would go B&B next time. Pool is nice and so is the pool bar.I I would use this hotel again but only for B&B. RON.
Nice, clean and friendly
We've just come back from Blue Rainbow, Icmeler. After 7 years in Alanya this was so relaxed! The hotel is OK, the rooms are old, but clean and the staff was very friendly. Since May 1st there is also a bar next to the hotel, called Blue Rainbow. Very nice people over there, the entertainment was OK and the food also. If you ever go there try fish in salt (order 1 day before because it needs to be in the oven for 6 hours), really delicious. At first it was a bit disappointing that all the music in all the bars finished at midnight, but after 2 days I was used to it. I really recommend the Blue Rainbow Hotel and the city of Icmiler.
Not What Expected
Me and my family stayed in this hotel on last week in August 2007, on a half board basis. Having been to Icmeler 6 times now, and having tried a new hotel each time, I was very disappointed with the standard at this hotel. after being delayed for 12 hours in the airport (although I no nothing to do with the hotel), all you want is a good meal down you and a nice cool room to have a sleep. but none were possible, as unless you will eat anything that is put in front you, I would not stay at this hotel on a half board basis. The food was not very nice, as it was chicken one night, fish the next and beef the next, and then it would start over again. Although a large choice of salad and deserts, not much for your main meal. Also would not recommend for vegetarians as my dad did not get one good meal. Ate out 4 times, in the 7 days we were there. Also be warned drinks not included with evening meal. Breakfast was ok but the same everyday, boiled egg and cut up sausage. You get tea, coffee or orange juice with breakfast though. Also don’t plan on any early nights (by early I mean before 12) this is not possible as the three fun bars underneath compete for the loudest music, although music does have to be turned off at midnight. Want loungers by the pool, I would set your alarm for at least 6 in order to get a one. Pool loungers were always full, although no one was on most of them. You can use the beach which is a 1 minute walk away for 2.5 Lira a day, but myself I would sometimes prefer to lie around the pool. This was not possible. Room was big enough, and nice view from balcony. Room cleaned everyday and cannot fault the hotel staff, but the bathroom was really really small. Air con does not really cool the whole of the room as in other hotels I have stayed in but only right underneath were it is blowing. Having stayed in 6 different hotels in Icmeler I would not recommend this one to anyone.
A great base to stay
Never having been to Turkey before we thought we would give it a try. We were not disappointed with Icmeler which we found to be just what we had been led to expect. It is a lovely pretty resort, although purpose built. It benefits from still having an old village and retains a community feel as a lot of residents work in the hotels and bars. When we booked the Blue Rainbow we knew that the rooms were not very big and the hotel was quite 'basic' compared to other hotels we have previously stayed in. However, it did not disappoint! The room was perfectly adequate and spotlessly cleaned every day. The maids are lovely and twice during our stay our beds were decorated with fresh flower petals which apparently is a Turkish custom. The beds were extremely comfortable. We needed to change our room because of faulty air conditioning, this was done wth no trouble. The Bell Boy who is lovely helped us to move. The food was fine, a bit repetitive but very well cooked and piping hot (which is important. The waiters in the dining room were really nice and enjoy talking to the guests (when allowed). The hotel has a wonderful large pool and there are plenty of sun beds available as a lot of guests prefer to use the beach which is only a few minutes walk away. We liked the Amalia bar across the road (underneath the Hotel Alinda) during the day for a fabulous pub lunch. We did not use it at night as it becomes a fun pub. We liked Romeo and Julier's at night which is a little further up the same side of the street. Very friendly and a bit quieter. Other places to recommend are : The Cactus Bar (has traditional live music every other evening); next door to the Magic Garden. It really is magic and has to be seen! May need to ask directions to find these although they are quite central but both worth seeing if you fancy seeing something different to the usual bars and both have great music. Champions in the centre is a very good and reasonable place to eat if you fancy a change from the hotel food. We walked up to the old town during the day which is a nice walk and found Guys and Dolls. The owner is very friendly and his restaurant is a good place to go if you fancy something a bit more upmarket. He offered us a free taxi back to the Blue Rainbow after the evening meal. Icmeler is a lovely place and the Hotel Rainbow is an ideal place to stay.
loved blue rainbow
Stayed at the Blue Rainbow for 2 weeks in July family of 4 2 adults 2 teenagers. Stayed in Icmeler 6 times before but always self catering, was not sure what to expect from this hotel but was really surprised. Hotel was in an excellent location and of a very good standard. The hotel Elif bar & resraunt (Abraham and elias) was really good they could not do enough for you free drinks ice creams melon fixing suitcases etc etc and the Havana bar was also very good say hello to za za when you go in. Hoping to go back next year will definitley try and book this hotel. No getting up at 5 for a sunbed we strolled down at 8.30 and got a bed for all 4 of us no problem. The only downside to this hotel is on the last few days the people from the hotel alinda decided they were giing to use the pool .so beware if you cant get a bed this is why.
lovely place
me and my hubby went to icmeler last year and stayed in the blue rainbow hotel, the hotel was really lovely and MOST of the staff were really pleasent, i must admit it was probably the best holiday that we have been on (upto yet). the only problem was that our room was over looking 3 'fun' bars, and every night all 3 of them seemed to want to compete with 1 another, who had the loadest music!! the food can get a bit repetative but as i have come to realize, we stopped in a 5* hotel in belek this year and the food was the same there too, so it just must be a turkey thing! icmeler is by far the best place we have been and u only no how good it is when u go to another part of turkey (like belek) where there is absolutely NOTHING to do. for a 3* hotel, it was wonderful, and where it is situated so close to the beach and the hotel pool was brilliant i would recommend this hotel to any1. we ill curtainly be going back there.
