I have recently just returned from a great holiday at the Blue Rainbow Hotel in Icmeler. The pool is absolutely wonderful as it is quite private and very enclosed. The hotel staff are very friendly and great with kids. They really do make your holiday. The food in the Blue Rainbow bar is lovely and I ate there most lunch times. Although the rooms are quite small the view from our balcony was brillant. We had a sea view which overlooked most of Icmeler. I would recommend this hotel for anyone travelling with small children. I loved this hotel and am definately booking it for next year!

We would not recommend this hotel to ANYONE! When my husband and I arrived at the hotel, we found the balcony door broken. Mohammed, the guy on night duty, was really miserable and made us feel guilty for notifying him about the balcony door on arrival.
That evening we ordered a £15 TV package for unlimited movies. There were not many movie choices and certainly not worth the money. To make things worse, the hotel adjusts the TV volume so that we could barely hear at all! Total disappointment!
Few days after checkout we were charged £40 on our credit card with no advance notice. When we called to enquire, Steve (the duty manager) said we had broken a vase on the table!! We could not believe it as we did not even sit at the table! For all we know, it could have been housekeeping that broke the vase. He was very unhelpful and refused to give contact details for the regional manager. We knew at this point that the hotel was DODGY!
We finally got hold of John (the regional manager) and he was worse. He told us that the maids found it broken and they have photographic evidence. We asked John to send this evidence (with date and time recorded) to us...it has now been nearly 3 weeks since the incident and we are still waiting for the evidence that they obviously do not have!
We have now reported this to Trading Standards - the hotel staff are totally unprofessional, and have no shame...5 STAR??? What a joke!

Hotel room small for three people but adequate and cleaned on a daily basis. Seaview was wonderful. Pool was a great size, and definitely the biggest we saw during our stay. Breakfast was fine. Small bar by side of pool and bar / restaurant at corner of hotel. Bar/Restaurant only opened this summer and we found staff, food and entertainment excellent.
Icmeler is a small resort with plenty of good restaurants and bars. People are friendly and we can't wait to return next summer.

we have just returned from a 4-day break in ichmeler, turkey - our first time to turkey and away without the kids, yippee!
Ichmeler - what a lovely resort! there are loads of shops & a market (weds) and a lovely beach with plenty of beach bars with waiter service.
there are dozens of bars/restaurants, (children welcomed) which makes this a lively resort at night (but dont worry all the music stops at midnight), many of the bars have entertainment which is generally the barstaff showing off their dancing skills. our favourite for this is Leons but its spelt Noels (?) and you must go see 'the stella show' dragartist - avoid it if you're a bit prudish, though!
we stayed at the blue rainbow hotel & went half board. the rooms although small are clean and adequate for showering & sleeping, lets face it you dont go away to spend a lot of time in your room. please note: the balconeys are not private just a low wall between each, so no topless sunbathing on an afternoon girls!! as we were half board and just on a lazy chill out break we didnt take a lot of spending money, that was a bit of a mistake as the hotel food does leave a lot to be desired - no reflection on the chef or kitchen crew who are lovely. we've decided that as there is so much choice in the resort that guests must decide to eat out and that has created a downward spiral, as in whats the point of providing lovely food to throw away when guests are probably going to eat out. and because the food isnt great people eat out all the more. really thats the only thing thats lets it down, yes its past its best, but the staff are lovely & work very hard keeping it spotless, and they cant do enough for the guests. all in all we will definately go back but next time, room only.

i stayed at the blue rainbow on a half board basis with my wife and daughter,on the plus side the hotel is in a great location right on the beach and amongst all the bars. The hotel is basic and functional with a great sea view and clean enough. The staff were friendly and rooms cleaned regularly. However, the food was unimaginative and repetitive.Orange squash for breakfast and they charged extra for fresh orange juice which was miserable of them! One night for dinner it was fish and brussels cabbage on the menu!!my wife enjoyed this but my daughter and I had fresh fruit of which Imust say theres plenty. The pools of a good size and pool bar adequate. The air con good too. What really made our holiday was the Amalia bar across the road from the hotel where Gail and the boys make sure you have a holiday to remember. We are in the process of booking for this year and are thinking of returning to the blue rainbow only this time it will be B and B instead. You get what you pay for.Highly recommend The Amalia for their meals and entertainmnt you must visit!!!

We returned from The Blue Rainbow on the 22/9/07. What can I say about the hotel, well I would not go back again. I am not a fussy person but do expect a certain standard when I paid what I did for the 2 week holiday.
The glass lift kept breaking down, and when we used the service lift they were not amused. I am disabled and can not use the stairs. The room was very small and basic, the bathroom just as small, you had to shut the bathroom door to use the sink. When you sat on the loo the loose seat used to shoot you into the shower tray if you were not careful. The room was cleaned everyday, in a fashion. It was never dusted, and I cleaned marks up off the floor 3 days after we arrived. The sink was never cleaned apart from by me. The pillows had blood on them, yes they had clean covers on, but we slept with our towels over the pillows.
The meals. Well, I don't know what to say. Breakfast was very Turkish, which I love, but the stale bread buns were not appetising, also the flies on the food put me off. As for the night time meals, we did not eat them. Don't get me wrong we did try them a few nights, but ended up leaving them and going out to eat. It was like a mass exodus every night at meal time, as more left the hotel to eat than what stopped. We even tried lunch around the pool but the food turned up cold. We did complain to our rep in the first week, nothing was done, apart from the receptionist refused to speak to us after it. Apart from all of this complaining, I would go back to Icmeler tomorrow as it is a fantastic friendly place, but would stop else where.

My girlfriend and I have just returned from a week half board in the Blue Rainbow.
The Hotel is clean and tidy and the staff are friendly enough.
The rooms are very basic and the bathrooms are tiny, the toilet is almost in the shower!
Although we stayed half board, we only used the restaurant twice as my girlfriend didn’t like the food, though I have to say it wasn’t that bad!
The pool is a good size and there are plenty of loungers. The hotel is in a very good location and we had a great sea view.
Overall we enjoyed our holiday in Icmeler and the Blue rainbow didn’t spoil it.
If you are looking for a clean and basic hotel in a good location then this place is for you.
Would I return?? If the price was right then yes I would, though my girlfriend would probably disagree.

We just got back from a 2 week fantastic holiday at the Blue Rainbow.
The rooms were very clean and maid service every day. I travelled with my 12 yr old niece who had a fabulous time. We had half board and the food was very good, well presented and a good selection of fresh salads and fruit etc. All the staff were very friendly and helpful.
We had a large pool and plenty of loungers. We couldn't fault the hotel, or staff in any way.
I will be certainly going back next year, as well as recommending to family and friends. An excellent central location and a good selection of bars, our favourite was the Amalia - family friendly and good value for money.
Definitely our best holiday in years.

The Blue Rainbow was such a lovely hotel. The first night we got there, they told us there was no room that night but they would put us in their sister hotel. It was very basic and I can only think of the word dismal, but it was only for the night. The next day we went for breakfast (this was lovely lots of variety) and we were greeted by a man who'd take our bags to our new room!
The room was great - lovely see view. Everything was so clean, even the towels were in shapes of hearts. The pool is great, so relaxing and big too. The poolside bar is handy with a variety of drinks as well. Dinner at night is relaxing with some Turkish music and again so much choice of foods to eat hot and cold - a lovely spread. Overall great hotel, great holiday and we would definitely go back.

We just came back from the best holiday we have ever had to Icmeler. Blue Rainbow hotel was clean, tidy and the pool was immaculate, plenty of sunbeds and facilities.
The rooms however, are very very small. We shared three girls (all in mid 30's) and it was the tightest squeeze we've ever had. That said, the air con was good (it's free for everyone so don’t let your holiday company make you pay extra for it or tell you they'll take it off the price to entice you!), and bathroom was exceptionally clean. No plug in the sinks, but you can work around it with cotton wool or a flannel! Beds were changed three times during our week stay, and the maid came every day and was lovely.
We went half board and would not recommend it - the food was basic, almost hospital food and miss matched, nothing seemed to go together - eating out is so much cheaper and hunt out the local haunts for almost free meals (2 Lira compared to 8 or 9 tourist prices).
Breakfasts were poor with meats; yoghurt, bland cornflakes, and bread only, no fruit, dinners were a little better with fruit on option for dessert but only with a wide variety of jelly and blaming! We tended to eat breakfast at the restaurant directly opposite the front doors of the Blue Rainbow over the road (for around £2).
Safety deposit boxes are located in reception area so very handy. Lifts to all floors. We had sea view which was spectacular and you can request this free of charge.
The hotel is situated around 3 streets full of bars, restaurants, and cafes, there is life, but everything is switched off at midnight which makes for a peaceful sleep when needed. This personally didn’t bother us as we were generally out later than this anyway.
Head down to the beach at least once - discounted beds with parasol for hotel guests at 2 Lira for the day - Osman runs the beds and he is fabulous - will wash your feet with water to cool you off and is so funny - he loves everyone "more than spaghetti Bolognese"!
Our favourite bar was Yacamoz down the side of the hotel the last bar on the left before the beach. The guys in there could not do enough for us, cute magic tricks, dancing baby who was adorable and clearly loves the guys there, great food, excellent attentive service without any hassle. Ali, WC, and Ferit were absolute stars and we would recommend this place to everyone who goes, please visit at least once to see for yourself.
Scenery beautiful set in front of pine forest, people kind and attentive - girls you will get a lot of attention, but no real hassle, just be polite, or ignore. We heard bad things about hassle in Marmaris though which is bigger.
We will be going again! But probably to a self catering apartment next time. Can’t say anything bad about Blue Rainbow though.

My husband and I stayed at the Blue Rainbow for 2 weeks in August.
I can honestly say we had an excellent holiday, the hotel was spotlessly clean, the staff very helpful and polite in every aspect of their job. Hotel location was fantastic, a minutes walk to the beach, close to all amenities, and the views were beautiful.
We will definitely be returning to Icmeler and the Blue Rainbow next year, an overall 10/10.

Just back from Icmeler and the best holiday my wife and I have had.
The Hotel was excellent, clean and tidy. Friendly staff and good food. We were only B & B because there are so many great restaurants around and really cheap. The room was cleaned every day, towels as and when you needed them. Free Aircon and a cheap mini-bar. Balcony with a sea view, and to wake up EVERY morning to the sun shining put the icing on the cake. We will definitely go back.
Special thanks to Rami at I.C.R. travel and all his staff for making the holiday so trouble free.
