Greenbay Apartments
Green Bay apartments are located in one of the best areas on the Protaras coastline in the area called Nissia. A path lined with palm trees leads you from the hotel to a beautiful secluded sandy cove. Rooms offer twin beds, living room, private bathroom, shower & W.C, fully equipped kitchenette, air-conditioning, central heating, direct dial telephone, radio and private balcony. Most rooms are with a sea view.

My girlfriend and I stayed at the Greenbay Apartments, in August this year. It was our third visit to protaras in two years as we had fell in love with the place on our first visit!
It was our first time staying at the Greenbay Apartments and wasn't to sure what to expect with it being 2*, as we had only stayed in four* hotels on our previous visits, in which we stayed at the Capo bay hotel right in the heart of Protaras.
To be fair to the Greenbay apartments, I pretty much agree with everyone else's views. The staff were friendly and it was clean and tidy but it was very basic, and quite a distance from the main resort and top beaches in Protaras!
Although, I would recommend this hotel to families and people on a tight budget, as it was quite reasonably priced.

I think our stay at the Green Bay was most likely a little unique but brilliant.
You see, nobody had told us that Protaras or at least the end of it we stayed in, had closed for the winter!
We arrived on 5th November early in the morning after flying through the night and went straight to bed for a couple of hours. We thought it was just a bit quiet because it was 7am, when we woke up at 11am we thought it a bit strange that we couldn't hear the usual hustle and bustle you find in hotels.
On enquiring, we found out that we were the only people staying in the hotel!
We walked down the road to find a restaurant for lunch and it was empty apart from a few cats, all the shops, bars, hotels and restaurants around us were closed up. There was hardly a car on the road or a person in the street, it was bliss.
We found one restaurant which was still open "Americanos" the staff were tripping over themselves to serve us as we were the only people using it for the whole week - in fact they stayed open just for us and told us they were closing the day we went home, by the end of the week we were like part of the family - and the food and drink were great.
The hotel itself was quite basic but clean and comfortable. Our rep was fantastic and visited almost everyday to check that we had everything we needed. The staff in the hotel were friendly and helpful.
One of the nicest things about the hotel was its own little bay. I enjoy peace and quiet on holiday, which is one of the reasons that my partner and I tend to go away out of season. But, to be able to sit on this beautiful little beach all day long and swim in its crystal clear shallows waters, without meeting another tourist the whole time was just beyond my wildest dreams, we couldn't believe our luck!
I would definitely recommend hiring a car and driving into the mountains. The view from the top of Mount Olympus is stunning and we were standing in snow - a total contrast to our other excursion.
A 24hr long trip to Egypt (1 hour flight) where we went into 3000 year old pyramids, papyrus making places, cruised the Nile at dusk, ate in a 5* hotel and haggled in the Bazaar by night. Cairo is quite an intimidating place but we had our own bodyguard and the whole experience was awesome.
Our experience of the Green Bay was a very happy and friendly one - I have just got a Christmas card from the owner, which is a nice personal touch as well.
I cant say what it would be like in the height of the season but for anyone wanting to get away from tourist packed resorts, full of unruly drunk tourists and noisy nightclubs then I think I would willingly pay twice as much again, to stay on this lovely, friendly and inexpensive Island.

My husband, 16yr daughter & myself spent 2wks in Protaras. We flew on the 21st July 06, & was the 1st time we had been in Cyprus. We stayed at the Green Bay apartments, which were 2str.
The apartments were very basic, so basic that they didn't have a kettle or a toaster, however we were able to hire them at a shop nearby. The maid service was excellent; the apartments were cleaned 6 ays a week, & towels & sheets changed every other day.
A lot of families were staying which was good, so our daughter (& ourselves) made lots of friends. Evening entertainment was 3 times a week, bbq with karaoke, singer & bingo with karaoke. A lovely beach was a 2min stroll away. A walk into the town took around 20mins, were there are restaurants in abundance.
We were self catering so ate out every night. Food & service was excellent. Taxis are available day & night, you can even flag them down whilst walking. Plenty of water sports at the beaches. The Cypriot people we found to be very friendly & trusting. The weather was beautiful & we had a great time.
