Reviews of The Sea Life Hotel, Antalya

The accommodation was spacious, clean and convenient. It was situated very close to the pool, the restaurant and allowed good views of the grounds and out to the sea. The staff were always extremely friendly, overly friendly at times being that they all expect tips and could sometimes be quite smothering.



However a little tip we received shortly afterwards was that whilst every member of staff might expect a tip it is fine to just leave a tip for all of the staff at the end of the trip in the reception rather than constantly handing out notes. The only exceptions to this would be the baggage handlers (at the hotel not the airport!) and maybe the room cleaners who do a fantastic job.



The entertainment offered was of good quality, with a constant stream of either sports or dance activities to keep you from getting bored by the pool, and the night-time entertainment was surprisingly good. In addition to organised events there are also good facilities for volleyball, tennis and table-tennis should you feel the need, you might even be lucky enough to meet a group of like minded individuals to take part in a kick-about just down the road from the hotel like my party did.



The reps are all extremely friendly and helpful and if you're going for any length of time you might well find that you know them quite well by the end, there's also a very friendly guy called Aiman at the sheesha cafe that you might want to call in that, haggle hard on the prices through people!



Haggling is course part and parcel of the local culture and whilst the shops in the hotel will not start to high you might find that sellers on the streets of old shairm or Cairo if you visit will times their cost price by around ten times to reach their first offer!

The outside excursions were excellent also if you are going with Thompson, although I would give the Cairo museum a miss unless you enjoy being quickly herded past interesting things like cattle.



Finally the food offered by the hotel is quite brilliant, there must have been around ten different dishes offered for each course and whilst some of the things dished up were typically odd-tasting local cuisine there was so much variety that it would be difficult for even the most fussy person to find something they liked, I would definitely advise going all inclusive if you are not a fussy eater! Not only was the main restaurant impressive but the additionally costed attached restaurants (Lebanese and Japanese) were amazing value and gorgeous meals, albeit that you only really get the choice of a couple of dishes.



Overall the holiday was fantastic and I was really impressed with everything at the hotel and would advise trying snorkelling and camel riding etc. as all of the excursions we made whether through our tour operator or not were great value. A note of caution when shopping outside the hotel though that you are likely to be bombarded by calls of come here etc. incessantly so if you are someone who doesn't like to be hassled it's best to go around saying that you are from a country that the local people don't speak the language of.
