The hotel is gorgeous marble floors, exquisite furnishing and lighting and exceptionally clean. The cleaners come in the room everyday and provide clean towels, bedding and a couple of bottles of water in fridge. there is a hairdryer in bathroom, little bottles of shampoo and conditioner, cotton buds, shower cap, soap, sewing kit and shoe horn. we stayed in a family room which also inc double bedroom, two singles and 2 chairs and tv which could access a couple of english channels. There is also very good air conditioning which only comes on when your in room though as you have to insert door key for lights, electric, fridge and aircon to work. We paid extra for a balcony so was disappointed when we had a view of the carpark and sat right above the hotels generator. We arrived in the middle of Turkeys christmas (which apparently happens 10 days sooner every year) and for first two days concluded that this was the reason for the lack of entertainment but there was 2 shows for the whole week which we missed as they had done by 10pm when we returned from Kalichi. This is the main town and is about an hour walk away but about 15 mins in a cab but will cost approx £10 each way. You can catch a bus near hotel and then catch a tram up to the top (which will cost less) walking down though the narrow streets which are lined with shops plenty of clothes, shoes, bags souveniers etc but do barter as they start prices extremely high. The harbour is at the bottom full of boats waiting for you to haggle the price of a boat trip out, the price of drinks in harbour are extremely expensive so check prices first. We went on trips through rep scuba diving and to turkish bath which worked out cheaper than one in hotel but they do offer longer massages and facemask for more money. There is also a market a short bus ride away (festival bazzaar) all under cover because the largest market in turkey trip offered through rep is 2 hour bus ride away. These are all worth noting as there is nothing to do around the hotel, there is a couple of local shops thats about it. Another tip keep your shoes on when visiting the beach as there is no sand just pebbles/shingles. Hotel also provide towels for pool side and beach, sunbeds are provided for free in section 17 of beack for hotel uses but you have to pay for bar. also all inclusive in hotel doesnt include all sprits as they have 3 separate tiers at extra cost. Food was lovely, lots of choice and al e carte restaurants can be booked once each one per week. Had a lovely holiday despite lack of entertainment, not many english guests in hotel seemingly more favoured by russians, middle east and germans whichg is fine apart from their inability to queue.

I read the resort descriptions and a few reviews and thought most were very good. The truth is that at the end of October the hotel was almost closed with only one bar and the buffet open. No entertainment for children or adults, no disco, no water sports not a lot to do full stop. Food was absolutely awful and not fit for consumption by western standards. Quality and variety was very poor. If you like bread, eggs, salad and humous you are in luck. Do not eat the meat - it could be cows tongue or worse. Fish is sometimes ok but the smell of the friers is overpowereing. At the bar expect a choice of cheap vodka, gin, raki, weak beer and awful wine. No rum available, no tonic water for the gin and no diet coke. We bought our own drink to the all-inclusive bar and it was worth it! Local restaurants are ok and check out the Irish Bar for late night bands. The hotel spa includes sauna, steam room, turkish bath and small pool slightly heated. The charges are about 3 x what you pay outside the hotel and the nearest turkish bath is less than a mile away. Air conditioning means opening the window. The beach is not sandy and not private. It is pebbles, dirty and very public with some very unsavoury locals about. You get to it by crossing a dual carrigeway so watch out for the traffic - especially if you have kids. The staff are ok if you give them tips, otherwise they ignore you. One told us they do not get paid but that was probably to get a tip. If everthing was open I would say 3 star but what we got was 1 star treatment. So bad it was funny, so in true British spirit we grinned and bared it. This hotel is best left to Eastern Europeans, Russians and Middle East guests - and there are plenty of them.

The accommodation was spacious, clean and convenient. It was situated very close to the pool, the restaurant and allowed good views of the grounds and out to the sea. The staff were always extremely friendly, overly friendly at times being that they all expect tips and could sometimes be quite smothering.
However a little tip we received shortly afterwards was that whilst every member of staff might expect a tip it is fine to just leave a tip for all of the staff at the end of the trip in the reception rather than constantly handing out notes. The only exceptions to this would be the baggage handlers (at the hotel not the airport!) and maybe the room cleaners who do a fantastic job.
The entertainment offered was of good quality, with a constant stream of either sports or dance activities to keep you from getting bored by the pool, and the night-time entertainment was surprisingly good. In addition to organised events there are also good facilities for volleyball, tennis and table-tennis should you feel the need, you might even be lucky enough to meet a group of like minded individuals to take part in a kick-about just down the road from the hotel like my party did.
The reps are all extremely friendly and helpful and if you're going for any length of time you might well find that you know them quite well by the end, there's also a very friendly guy called Aiman at the sheesha cafe that you might want to call in that, haggle hard on the prices through people!
Haggling is course part and parcel of the local culture and whilst the shops in the hotel will not start to high you might find that sellers on the streets of old shairm or Cairo if you visit will times their cost price by around ten times to reach their first offer!
The outside excursions were excellent also if you are going with Thompson, although I would give the Cairo museum a miss unless you enjoy being quickly herded past interesting things like cattle.
Finally the food offered by the hotel is quite brilliant, there must have been around ten different dishes offered for each course and whilst some of the things dished up were typically odd-tasting local cuisine there was so much variety that it would be difficult for even the most fussy person to find something they liked, I would definitely advise going all inclusive if you are not a fussy eater! Not only was the main restaurant impressive but the additionally costed attached restaurants (Lebanese and Japanese) were amazing value and gorgeous meals, albeit that you only really get the choice of a couple of dishes.
Overall the holiday was fantastic and I was really impressed with everything at the hotel and would advise trying snorkelling and camel riding etc. as all of the excursions we made whether through our tour operator or not were great value. A note of caution when shopping outside the hotel though that you are likely to be bombarded by calls of come here etc. incessantly so if you are someone who doesn't like to be hassled it's best to go around saying that you are from a country that the local people don't speak the language of.

CHECK IN
Immediately pressured into a room upgrade which we were told could only be paid for in cash (£20.00 per night for a Family Room). We then paid a price in Lira that bore no resemblance to the Sterling price quoted. The following day we requested a receipt and again each day we stayed at the hotel and got fobbed off by their surly reception staff most of whom struggle with basic English. On our last day we asked a new receptionist for a receipt who checked the system and told us we hadn't paid for an upgrade. We finally got a receipt, as we were on our way out to our return taxi transfer, on non-headed paper that had obviously just been typed-up to keep us quiet. Other guests were told they had no record of their room reservations on arrival so could not have a room unless they paid £200.
ROOMS
The rooms are basic and fairly drab with non-existent air conditioning and double glazing (to block out the noise of the dual carriageway that runs between the hotel and the beach) making them very hot. I went down to reception to ask for a fan and was told to go away and open a window. I requested a fan a second time and, to the hotel's credit, was given a different room on the 6th floor with independent air conditioning. The bath in the room on the 6th floor leaked whether you showered or bathed but we got bored of complaining and being fobbed off so if you get Room 640 you will need to use the hand towels to stem the flow of water out of the side of the bath.
POOLS
There are four pools at the hotel. An indoor (non-heated) pool which we used on our first day but were told to leave because or three year old was laughing too loud. There are two outdoor pools which don't have shallow ends so they are both 1.4 meteres deep at both ends. There is also a small pool with two slides which are turned on sporadically. Be very careful on the smaller slide because you get on the slide after climbing onto an asphalt roof which is incredibly slippy. The bigger slide seems safer until you reach the last bend which catapults you back into the base of the slide rather than the pool.
Each of the pools is surrounded by marble tiling which is absolutely lethal when wet. One woman broke her leg walking back to her sunbed and another smashed her face on the steps after slipping on the floor and trying to grab the non-existent hand rails ont he stairs. Another young girl was nearly blinded by the parasols which all have protruding metal supports at face height. Injuries are a daily occurence at this hotel and the bar staff are well versed in providing bags of ice for injured guests.
FOOD
The A-la-Carte restaurants were all closed when we were at the hotel so all the guests and daily coach trips fought it out for seats in the buffet restaurant. However, coach trippers are given preferential treatment with reserved tables so All-Inclusive guests queue up outside before 7PM so they can have warm food and don't have to sit at tables in the lobby next to the toilets. The food itself is repetitive with little choice for children and the menus appear to be on a two day rotation. One evening we complained about stray cats in the buffet restaurant climbing onto the tables to eat leftovers and were laughed at by the restaurant manager. We then complained to the Duty Manager in Reception at which point the Restuarant Manager (Tuncil Cetin) sprinted out of the restaurant to scream at me which astonished the packed reception and scared my wife and son. We escalated this complaint to the hotel manager but no apology was offered, nor was anything done to resolve the problems. Each day after that we were glared at by the Restaurant staff and complaining to the Hotel Manager made no difference whatsoever.
DRINK
All-Inclusive drinks choices are very limited with Lager, Gin, Vodka and Raiki being the only choices. The soft drinks are dispensed from branded (Cocal-Cola, Fanta, Srpite) taps but are cheap copies. The spirits are diluted with new bottles being retrieved from cupboards with broken seals. All sorts of drinks regularly ran out and would not be replenished until the following day.
ENTERTAINMENT
The advertised entertainment is non-existent. None of the advertised facilities are open/available including the kids club which is opened unsupervised for an hour each day. There are lots of staff walking around in "We Love To Entertain You" T-Shirts but no entertainment is forthcoming apart from a couple of hours of someone playing Turkish dance music each afternoon. Most guests resorted to entertaining children with DVD Players or laptops they had brought showing films for the kids or playing music for the adults.
STAFF
The majority of the staff are dismissive and/or rude until you start tipping them and be aware that very few of the staff speak English so it can be very hard to make yourself understood. Our queries always went unanswered an we just got the overriding impression that unless you were handing over cash they weren't interested.
OVERALL
Please be very careful when booking this hotel. The only thing that made our 7 days bearable was the weather and the other guests (of all nationalities) who seemed to adopt a siege mentality in attempting to enjoy their holidays, despite the best efforts of the Sealife Resort staff to make guests stays as unpleasant as possible. This is nowhere near a 5 Star hotel with staff dismissive of any complaints and Manager (Suleyman Gurpinar) unwilling to take any action. This is definitely not the place to go if you are female, under 18, black or disabled.
