Fantastic hotel, entertainment was great, good selection of food, friendly staff made this holiday a memorable experience, rooms where very clean with regular cleaning, and rooms can only accommodate 2 adults and 1 small child. Hotel runs kids club, with 2 swimming pools, and also in a very good location. Definitely recommend.

We have just come back from a week’s holiday at the Hotel and have no complaints with regard to hotel staff, all very polite and helpful. Food was all ok and something for everyone including kids, room was cleaned every day and towels changed. Pool area excellent for kids and the kids club available. There was entertainment every night out by the pool and some activities going on in the day. My husband and I did have the 'bug' but would not put this down to anything in the hotel just the other people who had it and were still walking around instead of keeping away for 24 hours. I was dreading going away after reading some of the reviews but we have honestly had a great week. Hotel in good location as just away from all the noise but near enough to walk to.

Stayed for a week, came down with a "bug" 2nd day of holiday.
I don't think it was the food though if more people followed standard hygiene routines then maybe others wouldn't come down with this so called bug! The staff were great though offered to get the doc or any medications we required. 4 people in our party ate the same & 2 didn't come down with anything?
The hotel itself was clean to a fairly high standard and the majority of staff were pleasant. The location was just outside of the lively nightlife but if taking kids be aware of which bars you go into as adult content rates high on the island!
Overall an enjoyable holiday and England won!

The rooms were quite small, okay for a week but would be cramped if you stayed for 2 weeks. Me and my boyfriend have became very ill along with others that we spoke to that stayed in the hotel. Beware, a few food items were wrongly labeled and some had no labels.
I think I have had an allergic reaction to something I have eaten there as my face has completely swollen up and both me and my boyfriend are still very ill. The location is good but I wouldn't recommend the food at all. A lot of people are very ill at the Regente.
The rep was useless and the staff were not very friendly. No smiles with the service just tuts and huffs. Would definitely not recommend. P.s the walls are really thin too.

Just stayed in the hotel for 1 night, would thoroughly recommend it. Staff were all helpful and polite. Rooms are quite small, but okay if you are a couple, do not recommend putting 3 people in a room unless you are very friendly.
A bit noisy in the morning when the cleaners are moving furniture to clean, but hey that means the rooms are cleaned well. I did not expect the food to be up to much as we got the hotel really cheap but we were more than happy with the selections on offer.
Hotel bar has a happy hour 3 times a week but reasonably priced without it. Would def stayed again if can get really good priced deal again.

Having recently stayed here would not recommend food. Very poor and there was we were told an "airborne" bug in the hotel both husband and I very ill in fact, husband lost a stone in weight. Many people ill especially the old and young children.
Entertainment poor. Also glasses in bathroom were covered in a plastic bag which stated "Infection control." We booked this on an arrival and were told this would be a 3 star. It is a very poor 2 star.
Would we stay again "No" neither would we stay in Benidorm. We are not fuddy duddys just in our early forties and did not know what to accept. If you have booked this hotel - please change your booking.

Just returned from our second trip to the regente. Vincente has retired and a different manager has taken over, who is not as friendly. Does not seem to like teenagers. My daughter and son thoroughly enjoyed it although this is down to meeting friends. Well done Shaun and lee for making Lorraine’s holiday one she won’t forget too quickly
Food not so good either this year, both myself and mum came down with a bug, which most off the hotel had had. Pool and pool area was great. Would go back but on a self catering basis.

I have just returned from a brilliant holiday at the Regente hotel, I rate the following out of 10: food 8 not much for vegetarians. Bedroom 9, towels were changed and room thoroughly cleaned every day, air conditioning was a bonus! Pool 7, clean but crowded. Bar 7, friendly but expensive. Entertainment 5, not aimed at young people. Staff 8, friendly and willing to help.
Over all a fabulous holiday, would recommend to everyone.

David (40), Lisa (35) and Megan (5).
First of all, ignore any reviews that have been made on this hotel before the 2004 summer season as it has had a considerable amount of refit work done over the winter in order to keep it listed as a world of TUI Holiday(thomsons, sky tours).
The rooms:-
The rooms are pretty standard package holiday issue, separate bathroom with bath/shower, toilet, and bidet and washbasin with mirror. they have all had new fitments and have been re-tiled black /dark grey. Perfectly adequate.
The bedroom itself has twin beds , built in wardrobe(mirror doors)dressing table ,TV on wall bracket(it’s 20 euros to hire the remote and it won’t work with out it). A sliding patio door takes you to the balcony . The patio door operates the air con -when it’s open it turns itself off and when closed comes back on. The temp is controlled via a panel on the wall .
The towels are changed every day and hotel cleanliness overall is very good.
Hotel facilities:-
The pool has been totally rebuilt and is now two pools ,one for the little kids and a deeper pool for older folk . It is very nice with a Jacuzzi in one corner of the big pool and a tall "mushroom" style shower in the little pool. There is a pool bar which serves drinks in plastic glasses, ice lollies etc. also around lunchtime a few tables are put aside for a cafe style snack /lunch service.
There is a large sundeck up a few steps from the pool and this is adjacent to the main bar. This bar is spacious and air conditioned.
There are 2 lifts to all floors(9 floors ,20 rooms to a floor)with this amount of rooms patience is required at busy times such as breakfast, evening dinner ,etc.
The restaurant is on the lower ground floor .meals are buffet style with two main course/salad buffet bars and one dessert bar.
Food:-
The food is also standard package holiday issue. English style breakfasts are available -sausages ,bacon, eggs etc. Also cereals and fruit .croissants, toast etc are also here.
On an evening there are normally 3/4 main course choices and a selection of vegetables, also salads and soup.
On the dessert bar there are cakes ,fruit and ice cream (4flavours).
The food is ok and some nights very good depending on your tastes. two nights a week there is also a carvery with either a joint of beef or pork. at best you’ll enjoy it, at worst you won’t starve.
Location:-
Location is good , not to far from beach or main centre (5 mins or so to each)but far enough away to be quiet on a night.
There are shops all around and straight over the road - a sports bar(all sky football)two more bars ,a kebab/Indian takeaway(kebabs were nice) . Just up the road a couple of Chinese restaurants(I recommend the "china garden" just up the road. all in all you don’t have to stray far if you don’t want to.
Resort:-
This resort has been compared to Blackpool, and in certain areas I can see why. There is a huge amount of entertainment in the club/ bar district and the inevitable puking and fighting that comes with young people and copious amounts of alcohol, But away from here there are plenty of types of nightlife to suit all tastes -quiet bars/cafes on the promenade , sports bars and the old town is very continental with tables on the pavement and a lot of sights and smells. Yes all in all Benidorm is all things to all men, and there is something for everyone here.
A word of caution though, if you have small children the entertainment becomes very limited as a lot of it has a very adult theme. Do go and see Phil the clown at Panchos bar, the kids will love it and so will you.
Beware:-
Potato shell game, 3 potato shells and a pea ,guess which shell the pea is under, while you’re watching ,your pockets are being picked.
Free scratch cards . You are guaranteed to win and a taxi ride out of town to collect your ‘prize’ means they won’t bring you back until you buy a timeshare.
Watch the roads ,the driving here is atrocious , much worse than any other Spanish resort I’ve been to . Red lights .zebra crossings and the green man flashing mean nothing to these people so take care.
Summary:-
A decent hotel only let down by the quality of the evening ‘entertainment’ the turns are simply crap and wouldn’t get a gig in the local pub.
Other than that I was satisfied with what I received for what I paid. It gets a respectable 8 out of 10.
Have fun
Regards
Davy Robson

This Hotel as been refurbished, it is a very good hotel, the food and service is very good indeed, the staff are very helpful and speak very good English . The pool area as been refurbished and is in very good order , you can have excellent snacks and drinks around the pool at a very reasonable price. The entertainment in the hotel was very good. There is air conditioning in the hotel and bedrooms and Sky TV at a reasonable rate, it is in a very good location near to the many shops and bars, the reps are on hand very regularly and are most helpful. All in all a very good holiday for Families, and all ages.

Just arrived home early this morning and although I thought Benidorm was undesirable this hotel was definitely highly recommended by my family. Well situated for shops and beach plenty of restaurants surrounding it. Entertainment was good was there 10 days and only hated 1 night who was a transvestite comedian. Aaaargh!
All the rest were good. Victor the entertainments expert was a god send to the hotel. Can’t fault the maids or the food. Rooms were spotless but small. Staff were ok not over friendly but not ignorant. Wouldn’t have survived long without the air conditioning that was heavenly in a 38 degrees heat. Overall a good hotel.
