Hotel Castello Di Rodi had everything my wife and I needed for a relaxing holiday to recharge our batteries. Reading the other reviews, I think it is unfair because things have clearly changed since! We were greeted with a smile everyday and there was always at least one... more

Overpriced with few facilities, the web site does NOT to my mind give a true picture of this establishment. The pool - agreed, is lovely; though the windy roof top means there is no shade and parasols would just blow away. There is no children's pool nor more shallow area... more

Whilst an extremely pretty small hotel it is showing signs of neglect and really needs an overhaul. Especially the bathroom, although I know that these are hardly luxurious at the best of times in Greece. The breakfast was bread, jam, coffee and orange juice, not a hot... more

Hotel with a difference
I would highly recommend this hotel. The owner Beatrice provides a personal service second to none. Nothing is too much trouble and her knowlege of and advice on Rhodes was invaluable. The hotel is a peaceful and secure haven; the front door is always locked and every guest has their own key. This is a truely small and friendly hotel. To be fair, some rooms overlook a busy road, ours did, but 1. There are lots of trees masking it, 2. It was 90% cars, 9% buses, and 1% lorries 3. It quietened down on a night 4. If you live next to a road like I do you don't notice it. If you are susceptable to road noise then ask for a room facing away from the road. There are two beaches nearby, Rhodes town is a 10 minute bus ride away, and try the Medusa restaurant if only for the Nikos greeting! All I can add is this hotel made our holiday.
Returning to our home at the Castello Di Rodi
Lesley & Gerry have been coming back each year to the Castello Di Rodi because we love it so much & it feels like our second home. It is a family run hotel.lovingly decorated in a castle theme with beautiful fauna, superb grounds & magnificent pool area. This is our 5th year & looking forward to many more;2006 cannot come quick enough,& this is all down to Beatrice the lovely owner & her team, who have made us so welcome from the very first year back in 2001,& since then have built up a real friendship. The beautiful courtyard is where you can sit, relax & have breakfast with friends & have a chat if you like, sampling Beatrice's lovely marble cake which is homemade & one slice is always not enough. The yoghurt with honey is also especiially nice. All the rooms are very tastefully decorated with a medieval theme, with many having air conditioning, fridges, televisions & balconies with lovely views & very comfortable. The position of this hotel is ideal for quietness, just to chill out & have a really peaceful holiday,or just down the road you can sample the more traditional Greek style of restaurants, bars & shops. We always hire a car just to see more of the island & its magnificent beaches. Nothing is too much trouble at the Castello & Beatrice is a wonderful host,& of course to us now a very good friend. It says a lot for this lovely hotel when people like ourselves & many that we have met, keep returning year after year. You can keep the larger hotels, where you become just a number & they can be so unfriendly. The Castello Di Rodi must be in our view one of,if not the best family run Hotel on the island. Thank you for many lovely holdays Beatrice.
Beatrice's Beautiful Castello
Castello di Rodi in Kalithea must be one of the most beautiful, small, friendly hotels on Rhodes. Unlike the larger hotels this one has more of the personal touch with Beatrice, the owner, and Alexandra ready to welcome you and ensure that your holiday is enjoyable. Have breakfast in the lovely courtyard surrounded by flowers and trees and with the magnificent 40ft high bourgainvillias and jasmines climbing up the walls. The hotel is situated close to two beaches, restaurants, cocktail bars, various shops and mini-markets and is within walking distance of the village of Koskinou and Kalithea Spa. Rhodes Old Town and the now much quieter resort of Faliraki are just a short taxi or bus ride away. We've already booked our 'white room' for 2006.
Castello di Rodi
I really enjoyed my stay at the Castello di Rodi. The hotel has a very pleasant atmosphere with a lovely courtyard setting, where I was really made to feel at home. The hotel is also not too far from Rhodes Town and there are also two beaches nearby. The hotel's pool setting is also very pleasant, and I found my stay here very relaxing.
Castello Di Rodi (Heaven)
Myself and two other more mature ladies stayed at this Hotel from the 31st August until the 7th September 2005. Beatrice and her staff could not have been more helpful. A delightful hotel with a fantastic courtyard where you could sit have breakfast or just chill with a drink or two, and the pool area divine don't be put off by some adverts stating rooftop as it's not as such, you do go up a flight of steps, but the pool is set high within the grounds. A nice quiet area and only a short taxi ride to Rhodes Old Town the taxi cost 7 euros. I would certainly recommend to other. Regards to all that read this review.
castello di rodi
Great place ,very confortable and friendly.Nice persons, the rooms are with all confort. We are really happy for the week spent here.
Delightful Boutique Hotel
These days most hotels are like airports, you have to check your tickets to find out what Country you are in, everything has the same corporate stamp on it – all very slick but exceptionally boring. Well the Castello di Rodi is anything but mundane, it is a breath of fresh air in the hotel world and is far removed from the “all inclusive” packages of the surrounding hotels in Kalithea. The rooms are beautifully decorated, modern, airy and exceptionally clean but where this hotel stands out from the crowd is the design, you are transported into a medieval castle with the all the drama and finishing touches of a stage set. So if you fancy playing a damsel (not in distress) or a knight in shining armour then you need look no further. The hotel is wonderfully situated for visiting the Old Town of Rhodes, which is just a short bus ride away and yet you have the relative quiet of a small resort if you just want to chill by what is the best hotel pool I have ever seen, with stunning views of the surrounding countryside. To describe it as a roof top pool does not do it justice, it is set in the hillside gardens that overlook the courtyard of the hotel. I visited as a single traveller on a bed and breakfast basis and was made so welcome by the owner Beatrice and her lovely family, I have no reservations about recommending this little gem.
Oasis of peace and tranquility
The hotel is small and quite enchanting with a beautiful courtyard garden where breakfast is served and you can sit all day and play backgammon listen to music or just chat. The swimming pool is on the roof and has to have the most amazing views. It is secluded yet just 10 minutes from Rhodes town by taxi. The family that own and run the hotel are wonderful and catered to our every need. We had the best and most relaxing holiday and cannot find fault with this little corner of the world. We will definitely revisit
live it - love it!
Were they expecting us? when we arrived, having book ed through a travel agent, no one was around - they seemed surprized to see us! When we were finally directed to our room - it wasn't cleaned! There were wonderful dark hairs in the bed and the bathroom was not ready. a great start! However, this matter was soon dealt with. Where was the kettle, mini bar, tea and coffe making facilities as listed in the brochure? Lucky we took our own kettle as the bar never seemed to be manned and no other snacks were available let alone afternoon tea as the webe site had suggested. However, if you accept that this is Greece and just enjoy the relaxed and generally peaceful atmosphere you will experiece a piece of real greek culture! Enjoy!
A Wonderful Find
We stayed at the Castello Di Rodi in Kalithea in July for 5 days and had a wonderful stay. In researching our hotels, we found very little information on this hotel but were impressed by its website. When we arrived, we were not disappointed. The hotel is family run, and is essentially run by Beatrice, we was terrific. The hotel is impressive, has a lovely property and roof top pool with a fantastic view of the town. We stayed in a "white room" which was very clean and really added to the feel of our trip. Breakfast was served each day in the centre courtyard and was great way to start the day. The location of the hotel is perfect. It was only about 6km from Rhodes Town and therefore quite central as we travelled to Rhodes and Lindos. The hotel is situated in Kalithea, a somewhat smaller town compared to Faliraki (which we thought was way too touristy and busy). We would certainly stay there again and had a great vacation!
