Well, I' am Polish and I have spent 7 days in this hotel in the beginning of August 2010. I rate is really low, definetely below the standard of 4 stars. The only 'plus" were nice pools and decent hotel area. The drawbacks were a poor cuisine, the filthness and low standard... more

Stayed at the Luca Faliraki for two weeks, and had a brilliant time, although it was very, very hot. Rooms were big with air con. Food great with loads of choice. You need to get up early to get a sun bed during high season as this hotel is full of germans. The only... more

I took my sister on this holiday to Rhodes; we were looking forward to it all year. We stayed in Faliraki. We were told that it was the end of the season and things would be closing... unaware by 6pm everywhere was shut, and the place looked like a ghost town! We had a good... more

We have just booked for another two weeks all-inclusive in May/June 2008. What a superb location it is being based on the hillside and, because it's just outside the main nightlife area, there was no undue noise after 11pm. That was our only real concern but any fears were... more

would go back
i stayed at this hotel with a group of 6 girls and 2 guys aged 18. we all thoroughly enjoyed our stay here from start to finish. the location was great for us as it was in a quiet area but was only a short walk away to the town for shopping during the day and clubbing at night. the food was good but slightly repetitive but as a fussy eater i always found something. we had 4 rooms and they were all really good - spacious, clean, quiet. however on the last day we requested to keep the room until midnight as we had a night flight. unfortunately we couldn't keep the same room and had to move. the room we were provided with looked as though it was an old room and was not pleasant at all. if you have a room like this i suggest asking you move to another as it will make your stay much more enjoyable. all the staff were very friendly especially at the pool bar and the guy at reception who we often chatted to when collecting our key after a night out! i would recommend getting a taxi into rhodes town and taking aboat trip. we walked to the beach in faliraki town on the first day but it was very crowded. we then found a beach just by the harbour which was much nicer. overall i would definitely go back to faliraki and this hotel
very friendly hotel
we were a party of five adults and 12yr old and 14yr old stayed for two weeks in july. The food was good plenty of it although not a lot of choice in the afternoon just sandwiches and cake and if you were on the 8pm sitting for evening meal and had missed dinner you could be quite hungry but a very good selection at mealtimes. we had a pool view accomodation after a mix up with our booking but the manger could not have been any more helpful. The rooms had a bit of character to them and were kept very clean. all the staff were friendly and helpful. There are several pools and you do have to get up early for a sunbed. the only thing I can complain about is that the entertainment is in german so we went into the town every night where there is plenty to do. You can walk to town in around 20 minutes. Near the hotel there is a bar called alabamas with english staff and it is very reasonable prices there. I would go back to this hotel as we had very good service.
We would go back!
Hello, We stayed at this hotel for one week and it was great from the moment we arrived until the moment we left. We loved everything about it, the location was quiet or you had a 20 min walk to the banging town. The pool was great, food was good and the staff couldn't do enough for us from when we arrived until we left. We have since looked at going back to this hotel and have found out that it has had some major changes which also look fantastic. We can't remember one bad thing about this hotel, just give it a try.
romantic break
my partner and myself stayed at this hotel as part of one of our first holidays togther, and from our opinion it was a much enjoyed one. although the food range proved to be limited., we usually found something to enjoy although we did realise when it was good it was good, but during a bad evening we were left hungry as sometimes meeting satisfaction was far from. we always found it possible to find a lounger by the pool despite when we left our rooms, however only being 2 of us probably made this easier. the pool did seem to be over chlorinated which after a while begin to sting the eyes and skin. we enjoyed spending evenings in the bar and the views over Faliraki was very nice, it was good to enjoy the sights yet not be too far if we wanted to enjoy the nightlife. the beach was a good ten to 15 minute walk but there was a small bus available and a taxi only costs around 5 euro. booking a boat trip is highly recommened as it gives the opportunity to see a new quiter side to the island. we also visted the water park and this is a must as it was a great laugh all day. at 20 euros to get in for the day it was money well spent, more enjoyable in the afternoon as queues were reduced however arrogant germans did always manage to push in in front so be wary of them- especially the small ones!! overall, we enjoyed our stay at luca and found the staff very helpful, although we did notice most were deutch orientated, espcially the kids entertainment, however this did not affect us as we had no children.
sprachen sie deutch ? I HOPE SO FOR YOUR OWN SAKE
Overall pretty poor. definitely not a four star rated hotel. I always stay in 4 star or greater and this def. is not. ants everywhere that seem to drag cockraches back to your apartements in their little work teams. standards of rooms are 2-3 star at a push. and no air con - approx 37deg. c. when we stayed and kept waking up cos of dehydration. this eventually led to my illness and was bed ridden for 3 to 4 days. the food was limited and did not help my cause. all tasted of olive oil - even the soup. ice cream selection during the afternoon is just a joke as kids are allowed to help themselves - imagine the mess. over run by germans - only 1 other english couple at the hotel the week we stayed and a bunch of english guys who were obviously enjoying the nightlife of faliraki as 3 mornings in a row at approx 1-2am they came in and woke us up. we were on ground floor after requesting high floor and needless to say the walls transmit the sounds of adjacent rooms wuite clearly. this group of lads were eventually ejected due to noise and fighting amongst themselves - so that was good. only 2 english tv channels and this is worth remembering when the entertainment put on by the hotel is all in german and of poor "butlins" style quality. lack of real variety. kid based enterntainment really. also a good 15-20 mins walk from the centre. and is up a gradual incline. sunloungers around the pool were, as usual, claimed by the arrogant germans / dutch early in the morning and this really gets up my nose. needless to say they are not happy when you throw their towels to the ground in disgust and they turn up approx 2 hours later looking for them - i mean where were they for all that time - in the pool - i dont think so. C'mon Brits stand up for yourselves - it is in the hotel handbook that they are not allowed to claim loungers. fixed sprinklers come on first thing in the morning and drench the balconies so beware if you have towels out to dry or are out with your moring juice on the balcony. pools are over chlorinated and after 60 min session in the pool i had to go to the chemist for anti-histamine as took reaction it was that bad - so be careful in there. but i would say that this level of chlorination is essential as the toilets are not well signposted and in my opinion were not used all that frequently by users of the pool and pool bar. not many actually seemed all that bothered to get out of the pool to use these. all inclusive is not worth the money at this hotel - the food is of poor variety and quality and there were NO traditional greek meals on the menu for the whole 7 nights we stayed. no mousakka or stifado or anything ??? poor poor poor. will not be staying at any of the luca hotels again in my life.
Lovely memories from Luca
Me and my two friends stayed in Luca a year ago and we'll always remember the great time we had. It's situated a 15 minute walk from the bar street in Faliraki, which means it's far enough from the noise, but close enough to walk home after a couple of drinks! We stayed in a two-bedroom apartment which was OK, not perfectly clean (the windows were dirty actually), but very pleasant. The staff was great, friendly and polite, although I must say our friends back home never received the postcards we left to be sent on the reception desk (but maybe it's the greek post fault??). The food was great, there is a buffet for all the meals of the day and you can find something you like and eat as many as you like. There is also an entertainment every eveninig, which was ok to start the evening before hitting off for the bar street. I would like to reccomend this hotel to families with children, but also to young singles. We were very sorry to leave last year. If you need more info - ask!
I had a holiday of my life!!!
I was in Faliraki at the beginning of June for 2 weeks. It was fantastic time for me. The hotel is great- it's not in the center of the town which makes it more attractive. There are a lot of exotic trees and big swimming pools. Rooms are very clean and well- furnished. Housekeeping's ladies are very nice. Food is delicious. There are many dishes that you can try, a lot of salads, deserts and fruits. The waiters, waitresses and barmans are very nice and helpful. The best is entertainment team. They filled my time with many active games, great shows etc. They have so much energy, they always smile. In Faliraki you can find beautiful bays, nice beaches, good discos. I think that it's fantastic place for spending holiday.I hope I will visit Luca Cypria again one day.Lots of hugs for all entertainment team Luca Faliraki 2006 and all staff of the hotel.
fantastic holiday
on arriving at this amazing hotel we were greeted by well spoken staff able to converse easily in our language, who took us to very clean, basic rooms, cleaners were available all days but sunday. The restaurants were clean lovely settings with views over the bay, the food was plentiful and a good variety, the pools were clean and spacious, help on hand at all times. The only concern was that this hotel is not used by many english speaking people. therefore we felt a little bit in the minority when socialising or joining in with the evening entertainment although you couldnt fault the staff and as we were not in the hotel much it would have been good to have known this beforehand.Have to say though that all things considered we had an amazing holiday in a lovely resort and hotel Went on several organised trips and some alone all were well arranged and showed many sights and sounds of the greek culture reccommend the jeep safari for everyone excellent fun and good company. No air conditioning available in the hotel until june as it was a lot hotter than expected for that time of year was uncomfortable at night but it certainly did not spoil the holiday
No entertainment unless you speak German!!!!!!!
The hotel is nice enough, I would say a 4* hotel if you dont count the rooms. The rooms are very small, very basic and more a 3* from my point of view, it was around 100 degrees during our stay and NO air conditioning. Very, very hot, hard to sleep. Had lots of ants in our room and a big cockroach. That said, the pools are lovely, the maid service good, the food is really lovely and the staff very friendly. It does state entertainment and kids club but this is run by 123 Fly who are a german company and ALL the entertainment and kids club is ENTIRELY in german with no english translation at all. My children would not go back to the kids club after the first time they went, despite our asking the kids club staff if they could speak english to the kids this did not happen. All the traditional night, bingo, disco etc is all in german. Also if you go with sky or libra, please beware: the rep told us that the transfer to the port of Rhodes for the Lindos boat trip was half an hour - we sat on the coach for and hour and three quarters both ways to pick up people from remote hotels and missed our dinner sitting on the way back despite being told that we wouldnt. A warning about Faliraki itself - if anyone stops you, mainly from a moped, and offers you scratch cards saying you have won t shirts, video camera, free holiday or beach radio, WALK AWAY! Despite what the girl says, this is a timeshare con and they promise you it will take 60 mins of your time - we were there for 5 hours of hard sell and at the end they wanted £3295.00 out of us for a timeshare which is when we promptly made our exit (after getting our cheap t shirts and our "prize" of a free holiday which is one of those you see on eBay where you get a week for 4 people inc flights and accom but you have to be a home owner, earn a certain amount and be prepared to go when and where they put you and pay £32.50 per person, a bit of a con. So if you want to save yourself an afternoon of hard sell and boredom, walk away from the scratch cards!! Overall, we had a great holiday because we made our own entertainment and never really rely on hotel entertainment, but if we had, as a lot of the english people did, we would have been very, very disappointed, as they were.
Brilliant
We stayed at the Luca Cypria Faliraki hotel from the 13th May for 1 week. When we arrived we were greeted by 'Are you English or German?' We soon found out that we were one of 6 parties that were English staying that week. However was never seen as a problem, we all interacted and each person made every effort with you, wherever you came from. It was a different kind of experience, but it was nice to speak to people from other places. As the week progressed more English, Welsh and Scottish parties arrived but by that time it didn't matter because you just spoke to everyone. The bar staff were very friendly, we would head to the main bar at the beginning of the evening before our meal and then later we would go to the pool bar near the small theatre where all the entertainment happend. The bars were open from 9 am until 1 am and entertainment was a children's disco from about 8 and then the show would start at 9:30 until around midnight. The animation staff tried hard although it was very amaturish. They worked all day and would come around the pool and try to get people involved in the activities. If you didn't want to, they weren't persistent, they left you alone. There are two pools, the 1st pool is the quiet pool and has it's own pool bar and then the 2nd pool to the rear of the site was more lagoon style and much bigger with a jacuzzi and pool bar. We stayed at the 2nd pool because it was much nicer. It looked like the property had been added on to and the 2nd part had much newer buildings. Our room was loacted in the original part of the hotel. It was always clean, a little small but for it's purpose it was nice. The restaurant in the evening had a selection of food. Im very fussy so I didn't find the food great but most people enjoyed it. The meat was lovely and there were chips and pizza and potatoes and chicken and lots of salad and cakes morning noon and night. The staff were friendly and helpful and I had such a relaxed time on the complex. Faliraki is not what it used to be. It is nice and I had a great time when I went into the town. I would say it is pointless to get a taxi, just walk. You can have a great time without getting stupid. We went at the beginning of the season and I'm going back to Faliraki in 3 weeks so it might have livend up a bit more when I return. I won't be staying at the Luca Cypria on my return because I booked another hotel before I had visted this one but I would definitley return to this hotel in the future.
