Myself and my partner went for a chilled out wk end, the rooms where basic with no toaster and only two toilet rolls. If you decide to stay in these appartments do not stay in block d and e as the road to the side as a night club very near it with what i can describe as very noisy spanish people. Smashing glasses fighting you name it. Other than the fact of the noise the hotel was ok
- Advice: Get better windows fitted to block the noise

just come back from blanes. The hotel was OK... there were problems
no maid service for 7 days, therefore dirty apartment.
. we cleaned as we left and I suspect that's the only clean it gets!!
. fleas in the sofa - got some lovely bite marks
. the cafe keeps loud music till last person leaves-usually 1 - 3am.
parents go to the pool and drop off the kids while they swim, expecting you to supervise the kids. Told the hotel but it continued for 4 days.
- Advice: take your own bug repellent

We were made to leave a 50E damage deposit when we arrived which is pretty normal however other people were made to leave 100E. We were also given information which states that if you use more electricity or water than needed they will charge you for this on departure. The safety deposit boxes are not located in the apartments as advertised they are in the reception but are reasonably priced. Our apartment was dirty and very smelly of drains and sewerage. The water from the taps and shower smelt bad. Our cooker hob did not work however the apartment had a microwave and toaster. You have to buy your own toilet roll as they do not supply any and empty your own bins. The towels are changed once during the week but the apartment was not cleaned or the sheets changed. On our last day we had had to clean our apartment which was checked before they return our deposit which I expect is the only clean they have between guests.
The area is not picturesque and there is very little to do in Blanes. There are a few restaurants by the beach and the main shopping area is a short distance back from the beach. There is 1 bar\club which was open during our stay, it was full of locals but they played current music. It was 10E to go inside which includes 4 free lagers. There is an Irish bar around the corner which does good English food. The bar at the Europa is nice and the cocktails are highly recommended. There are lots of sun loungers around the pool which are very comfortable. We visited Loret De Mar which is only a 10 minute bus trip where there are many shops, bars and restaurants.

Having just read the other reviews about these apartments I am wondering if we holiday in the same place!
I travelled with my 16 year old niece,
These apartments were awful. Dirty with no maid service for the whole 7 days. Buy your own toilet rolls and empty your own bin.Never got clean linen/towels all week
The noise level was terrible, our apartment backed on to the only disco in Blanes. There was very loud noise until 6.30 to 7 am every day and we could not sleep. Also people shouting and banging doors in the complex all night. This left us feeling unsafe.
After 1 shower the hot water ran out his was not much good.
Only one english speaking family there. the complex was full of young dutch who just wanted to party .
we met lovely staff at the irish bar down the road, they were great and give us plenty of advise, we were going to take a train to barcalona but they advised us that the trains were not very safe for 2 girls traveling on there own.
Our apartment was broken into and a purse stolen, when we informed reception he did not want to know he said we must not have locked our door right it was our own fault.
The staff were rude and unhelpfull except one english girl working in recption.
we were so glad to get home, we even thought about just booking flights home half way through our holiday as we felt so unsafe.
Don’t go in peak times is my advice or don’t go at all!
- Advice: if you are going for a party holiday then great other wise forget it.

People people beware. It seems the Europa Apartments, and the Europa Hotel are 2 DIFFERENT PLACES!!! 1 it seems is a tacky dirt hole that rats wouldn't go near, the other is a nice set of clean apartments. Hence the price difference. Europa Apartments are double the cost.

We just came back from a lovely holiday in Blanes. Europa Apartamentos was a real bargain, we paid 160 euro for a 2 bedrooom apartment and we stayed 9 nights. The hotel and the apartment was clean. Towels and linen were included in the price and they changed the towels 3 times during the holiday. We paid 50 euro deposit and it was no problem getting it back the day we left the hotel. The pool area was really nice with threes and flowers and the sunbeds were free. The location are ok, near the beach and shops just around the corner. We went shopping to Mercadona supermarket 3 times during our holliday, a short walk just 10 minutes up the hill from the hotel. Busstation is just 50 metres away and we went to Lloret de mar twice (bus every 15 minutes). We also went to Barcelona once and to Port Aventure (all family loved it)......i can recommend Europa apartamentos to anyone....Linda from Sweden travelled with husband and 3 children 3, 10 and 16 years old.

We were delighted with our apartment, for the price paid. By far the most appealing building in the area, and the pool was great too. We had no problems with cleanliness, and found the apartment amply spacious and cool. The location was excellent for the beach and the shops. Being 'mid-beach' we walked to either end of the resort on different days, and even walked to the top of the mount to take in the breathtaking views from Castle de St Joan's (no facilities up there, so don't plan lunch there as we did!). Other attractions are the Botanical Gardens, or a glass bottomed boat trip, or a short walk to the train station can take you into Barcelona for the day. For evening meals you must seek out Bier Express Bar and Bistro (just down around the corner) for fabulous food and friendly service (the ribs were sensational). Just above the seafront is Les Voltes XXLV, which we considered to be the best lunchtime food in the resort area. On Monday mornings there's a huge market along the seafronnt at the marina end for an endless choice of leather goods, clothes, jewellery, etc. In the resort square is a daily market for a massive choice of fresh produce.

we stayed at the Europa this october for 7 days, we had a clean apartment (although cupboards slighty musty)well equiped kitchen, towels changed 3 times and found the staff helpful, the only let down being 1 person who worked in the bar (supervisor we think) very rude and extremely miserable towards the english tourists,,,,, but 1 person was not enough to ruin our holiday. We really enjoyed our holiday and will definately be returning next year..... what we will say is for a young couple out of season blanes can be a little quiet during the week days buses run good from just outside apartments to neighbouring towns ie Lloret de mar... we would advise the bar next door to Europa called Bar stadium fantastic people very friendly and good quality low priced food.... if you are wanting authentic spanish food the bar europa is not ideal... take a walk to the near by bars and restaurants....but do not listen to the negative comments i think you will really enjoy these apartments .... Please remember you are self catering and not staying in a 4 star hotel..yes you are required your own toilet roll after using the one provided and no your beds dont get changed but after paying only 140 pound each what do you honestly expect for your money... hope you enjoy us as much as us xxxx

Hola,
Please disreguard the negative comments about the Europa apartments from some of the posters on this site.
I've been going here for the last few years with my girlfriend and you get what you pay for.
I'm afraid it's a shame that these insipid complainers that have a crap life love to take their troubles on holiday and are determined not to enjoy themselves.
The apartments are clean and well looked after, the staff are efficient and friendly and i would go to far as say they will go beyond the call of duty to make you happy.
Yes you have to buy your own toilet roll when the apartment's supply runs out, and yes you don't get your sheets changed every day, and yes a maid doesn't come in every day and clean up YOUR mess. ( You're in a "self catering" apartment duh! )
The noise from the bar can be a little intrusive if you are right above it, but it only lasts to 12 midnight then all goes quiet, there can be occasional noise from the disco round the corner if you are in on the apartments that join on to it, what you need to remember you are in a Catalan HOLIDAY resort.
Would thougherly recommend Europa apartments to anyone going to Blanes, great price, good location and friendly people.
To those people that posted about unfriendly staff, maybe you should take a look at your own attitude on life. Treat people the way you wish to be treated, things might work out better for you.
Happy holidays
Adieu.

Just back from a relaxing week in Blanes with my wife and two friends. We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived. First impressions were very good and reception was friendly. We stayed in block c overlooking the pool bar and our friends were in block e overlooking the road to the Lotus on the other side. Neither of us could fault the apartments in any way. Basic but spotless and spacious. Nice big balconys and a lovely clean pool. You do have to pay a 50 euro deposit on arrival, and you do have to buy your own toilet roll, but it is self catering. If you want your sheets changed you only have to ask at reception. I can't understand why anyone would complain. I am 50 and holiday a lot, and these apartments are right up there with the better 3 star resorts I have stayed in before. Location was great with large Condis supermarket 2 mins away, beach 5 mins, plenty of great restaurants and bars nearby. All in all we had a lovely holiday in Blanes and will be returning to the Europa.
