We read many bad reviews before we went to Europa Apartments in Blanes, and were pleasantly surprised when we arrived. Very clean and spacious, good swimming pool, bar serving snacks/meals, and nightly entertainment. Reception staff were friendly and helpful, and all in all, very good value for money. Plenty of bars and restaurants in resort itself, good regular bus service to Lloret De Mar, train runs along front of promenade and bus up to Botanical Gardens, which overlook the Marina. A good family friendly resort, with enough to keep everyone occupied.

I and my girlfriend had a very pleasant week here. The rooms were very basic but they were clean with a fridge, microwave, toaster, coffee pot, plenty of pans etc and a hob, the hob was pretty useless, it took ages to boil the kettle and the bacon died of boredom before it cooked!
They could have provided fresh sheets every 3days but it was SC and there was a laundry. Of course you had to empty your own bins and there was no maid, it’s not a hotel!
The shape of the complex makes it a bit iffy for noise, if you’re at the back your right next to a nightclub but everywhere else is fairly reasonable, although our room got no sunshine at all.
There was entertainment provided every night, some of it was fine, some was poo, but that’s all down to individual taste.
Can’t comment on the reception staff as we only seen them when checking in and out.
Never tried the proper menu, was out all day, but the evening pub menu was OK
The noise factor in the hotel is entirely down to who’s there that week so that’s very hit and miss, we got woke up once in the middle of the night but hey ho it’s a busy resort in Spain, I’m sure I woke someone up on the third night as I may have been a wee bit tipsy.
Overall it was very good and, for the price, was above our expectations.

Worst place we have ever stayed at!...

Oct 2007, Mrs K Walker

Worst place we have ever stayed at! Went there with my husband and grandson for a relaxing break, what a joke! When trying to get to sleep at night there was fighting in the corridors, glasses smashed, we had to put chairs behind the door for safety!!
The noise was unbearable, the bar served drinks until the early hours with music so loud you couldn't attempt to go to sleep, they served drinks to guests until they couldn't even stand up!!
Don't go these apartments, especially if you have children, they never clean the rooms or give you clean towels, the pool is a disgrace, there is no security as the main door is propped open all night!
We had a power cut whilst we were there, the staff were not interested, in the end we checked out as we could not stand another night there, we moved to a hotel at the end of Blanes it was brilliant.
Please, please don't go to the Europa, it is a a terrible place - I wouldn't even put an animal in it.

Having just read the other reviews...

Having just read the other reviews about these apartments I am wondering if we holiday in the same place!
These apartments were awful. Dirty with no maid service for the whole 7 days. Buy your own toilet rolls and empty your own bin.
The noise level was terrible, our apartment backed on to the only disco in Blanes. There was very loud noise until 6.30 to 7 am every day and we could not sleep. Also people shouting and banging doors in the complex all night.
After 2 showers the hot water ran out and as we had 6 in our party this was not much good.
Beer cans and bottles thrown in the pool in the evenings.
The staff were rude and unhelpful. Don’t go in peak times is my advice or don’t go at all!

We had been advised to go to Europa by my brother-in-law; he has been every year for the last four years. Although Blanes itself isn’t very child friendly the hotel was.
The staff were very friendly and helpful in both the bar and the reception area.
The hotel was clean, the pool was lovely, and the entertainment at night was fantastic.
The food was very basic but still good.
We also met a lot of nice people while we were there. This is the first time we have been away for 8 years and the first time for us with kids, so obviously we were all worried about how it was all going to go.
It went that well we are all booking for next year at the same hotel.
There are also plenty of activities and outings all of which can be booked through the reception with coaches included. There was a very pleasant English girl there who gave us loads of advice.
Thank you to all the staff for making our stay an enjoyable experience!

My husband and I took 10 days at the Europa Apartments in May for our honeymoon. The booking was very inexpensive so we weren’t expecting a great deal but we were pleasantly surprised!
The apartment had 2 twin rooms when we had asked for only one so we used the other as a dressing room.
The beds were very comfortable and the apartment clean, with a TV and the usual kitchen facilities. The hotel was quiet, but maybe this was because of the time of year. The only night we encountered any noise was on a Friday when the locals drove in to use the clubs in the area.
The staff were very friendly and helpful and every night there was an offer of a 2 course meal with wine or bread for 6 Euros, very reasonable! The meals on offer were home cooked (not pre-packed) and not a burger in sight which was great!
There was entertainment in the complex every night, some better than others admittedly!
All in all a great stay! Would visit again!
