Miro Hotel

My husband and I just returned from a week in Spain. We started the trip in Bilbao and the Miro Hotel was the perfect place to stay. The room was sizable for European standards and the bathroom was well designed and functional. As an architect, I loved how close the hotel was to the Guggenheim. There was a building under construction across the street, but we never heard or saw anyone working on it. The Miro is a great place to stay. My husband and I stayed for our first night in Bilbao. We didnt see much because we were so tired from our flight from NYC. We practically slept through our first night of our honeymoon. It is very clean funky place. They have a nice bar downstairs also. They offer breakfast also but like i said we slept through that.

Our room (63) was comfortable, clean, modern and stylish. Bathroom was small but modern and functional - shower, no tub but with a separate toilet. Nice view of Guggenheim (& Puppy), will be even better when construction of the plaza opposite is complete. Some noise from construction during the day but relatively quiet at night. Wireless internet - was listed at 8 euros a day but no mention was made of charging for it on check out, so free! Valet parking for 13 euros/night. We stayed at the Miro Hotel in April 05 for a long weekend. It was so easy to get to from London (Easyjet). Taxis into Bilbao from the airport were really quick making it seem as if we'd hardly spent any time at all getting there. We loved Bilbao. Having never been to that region of Spain before we found it really "authentic". We loved all the little bars serving tapas/pintchos, pointing at things on the counter that you wanted to try - some of them for free - and tiny little glasses of wine or sherry.
