My partner and i stayed here for 1 week at the beginning of september, i would not recommend this hotel. On arrival we asked for the air conditioning to be turned on, which we then found out we had to pay £35 for, also another £14 for safe deposit box. We thought at first the recepionist was trying to con us, so we said no. Within 30 minutes we had to go down and pay as it was so hot, air con is a definate must have!
The staff were nice, especially the bar staff. The pool was a good size.
The location was ok depending on what you want from the holiday. Its a stones throw from the beach which is great, but its a good walk to the resort centre, between 45mins-1 hour. Theres plenty of shops and resturants and things to do nearby, but you can get a bus for less than £1 to the centre and they pass every 5 mins which is great!
Marmaris itself is fantastic i will definatly go again but just not at this hotel.
The food in the hotel was terrible, we went half board and ate out every night, which can be expensive, especially if your on a budget! Breakfast was ok, very basic, but evening buffet was disgusting, same everynight, very basic and not much to choose from! Ok if you like olives, salami, water melon and bread and butter!
The first few days it seemed there was only us and another couple which were english, the rest were german or russian, but towards the end there were more brits. Its basically a hotel for the german and russian. They were extremely rude and miserable, pushing past you and looking at you as if you are from another planet. They put their towels on the loungers at the crack of dawn every morning and then didnt use them til after dinner which was annoying. Next time i will look for a hotel where there are no germans or russians!!!
The drinks at the bar were a little expensive too, but many places nearby.
I wouldn't reccommend this hotel but i would reccommend marmaris i will definatley go again!

Me and my boyfriend have spent out first holiday togeather in this Hotel for one week in Aug 2008. We found the hotel to be great, with only a few small things that let the hotel down. For example we arrived to find a bottle of dodgy looking turkish organe vodka in the wardrobe! but on a whole the room was in good order and had a great view of the beach and the sea. I was impressed with the size, layout and furniture in room and the size of the balcony. The bathroom was also to a high standard, with the shower being one of the most powerful showers i have ever been in, but the water in the shower was rather salty and cold at certain times!
I cannot really comment on the breakfast in the hotel as we were never up in time to get it! but drinks from the pool bar were reasonablly priced.
All ther staff were friendly and helpful, espically the maid who cleaned our room everday and left us a nice note at the end of the holiday wishing us a safe journey home!
The hotel is in a good location and the mini supermarket which is next to the hotel is open 24 hours and they are great! the only downside to the location of the hotel is that it is a good walk to the real bar street and the good beach bars.
We would recommend to all got to the Icmeler market on a weds and spend the rest of the day ont he beach there as it is much better than maramis beahc and market!! just hop on the dolmus bus and it will take you right to the market. BUT MEN BEWARE DO NOT BUY BOXERS FROM THE MARKET THEY ARE RATHER DODGY, to say the least!
In Marmaris all men who are looking for clothes must visit BEDO COLLECTION shop on the road behind the hotel, for the best qaulity and genuine knock offs!
Also look out for Old Captin Mehmet who lives on his boat on the beach he is a legend!
Would recommend The Beach Club, Infinity Bar (esp for food) on the beach front but beware of the Threen Brother bar!!!!
Considering i really didnt want to go to turkey i cant wait to go next year!

I have just returned from this dump stayed there for 1 week was told that its a 4star with sauna, jacuzzi, fitness centre, steam room included but they weren't you had to pay for them because we were english the bar staff were ok but the rest where a wast of space cleaners never cleaned the rooms properly or gave fresh towels.
I paid £5 a day for the air conditioning and it didn't work at all conplained to the receptionist for 4days an in the end he told me its not his problem he's only the receptionist by this time i lost my ragg but there quick enough to take your money.
I would advise people not to stay at this hotel it should be given a 2star rating and i think the staff should respect english people a little more and leane how to provide a service which they say the do provide. This hotel an staff really p****d me off on my holiday had nothin but problems an i am easy to please but this time i just got ripped off by the hotel an my tour operator.

very friendly staff.Clean hotel, shower was a bit strange but it worked and eventually we got hot water! The cleaning ladies were lovely and came to tidy up every day and make the beds. jimmy was great and has since helped me book another stay at this hotel for august this year. i cant fault this hotel and will go back year after year. my dream is just a few yards from the beach. its not by any means a stunning beach though but if you just want to bask in the sun its perfect. i t was very quiet when i went there in may so i dont know what it will be like in august when i go again. i will let you know!

Well although we had no kettle, no iron and the hair-dryer only worked for a couple of minutes at a time, overall i would recommend this hotel to all.
Oh yes you have to pay for the air conditioning but its worth it. The breakfast leaves a lot to be desired but as my friend and I were staying on a b&b basis, it didn't bother us too much as we often missed breakfast in any event.
The staff were very friendly and helpful.
The location is excellent, a couple of minutes walk from the beach and the restaurants and shops and only a bus ride away from Icemeler and Bar Street (if your a clubber).
I would definately go back to this hotel - tomorrow if i could!!

Me and my partner are in our early 20s and stayed at My Dream Hotel early July 2007. Overall great - would definitely recommend it.
Hotel was clean, smart, in great location and had many services on-site. Get air conditioning as Turkey is very hot! We had a great view from our balcony of the sea - try and request this if you can!
We had lovely strolls along the beach promenade where there are so many bars and restaurants for all tastes. Beach is 30 seconds away. Watersports and free sunloungers right there. Only complaint is that the electricity cuts off when you're not in the room so stuff in the fridge doesn't stay cold :-(.
Recommendations of things to do:
Have a Turkish Bath and massage when you arrive to relax you and prepare you for the sun! Take the bus (from right outside the hotel) to the Market area and walk around the castle to the harbour, such nice restaurants there.
If you keep walking past the hustle and bustle over a little bridge you get to the really smart fancy restaurants at the marina where all the private boats are - this is the upper class part of town.
We caught the bus to Icmeler (next village/town) one day, there is a much wider beach here. Have a Sheesha on comfy cushions and enjoy a Turkish coffee. Go to the Bazaar (market) and get some bargains! Go on a boat trip, there are so many to choose from. Hit bar street and have some local spirits.
Have a genuine Turkish kebab! As you come out of the hotel, turn right onto the main road and walk for about 200m until you see the most amazing fruit shop on the right hand side with the biggest watermelons you have ever seen!
I hope you enjoy the hotel and Marmaris as much as we did.

Stayed at hotel My Dream, 25th June -9th July. B&B. Breakfast Turkish, good place to eat over the road, no name restaurant, hotel was clean, and rooms cleaned every day.
Lots of Russians and Muslims staying. More British coming in as we left. Arab families did lots of cooking in room, corridors smelt like camp site.
Staff didn’t bother you ,no noisy music, and shop on corner was brill, hotel didn’t mind you bringing your own drinks in. After all the rooms do have fridges. just make sure you have it plugged into right socket.
Overall very clean, relaxing.

I stayed in the My Dream hotel October 2006, I booked fully inclusive with Vision Holiday, it was meant to be 5 star with entertainment & drinks food inclusive, although the room I had was clean.
The food was awful. The breakfast consisted of melon tomatoes some cold meat & boiled eggs there were flies all over the food as nothing was covered we were charged for tea bags the evening meal consisted of a choice of fried chicken with chips or meatballs & chips for the entire week with melon or ice cream desert we had to pay for all our drinks.
The staff were of no help when we had any questions. The receptionist seemed to sit at the desk chatting on MSN. I would not recommend this hotel for entertainment food or even the pool, the only thing it has to offer is a bed. Please note we tried to contact our holiday rep to complain we saw him near the end of the holiday & he had said he would take note of our complaints & it would be forwarded onto Vision Holidays.
When we arrived back & contacted Vision holiday they said they had no notes of the complaints & as we did not have anything to back up what had happened & had not kept receipts we got no compensation. Beware Vision Holidays.

My family stayed at the My Dream Hotel end of June for two weeks and we had a lovely holiday.
The rooms were spotless, the cleaners coming in every day. My daughter and her friend never getting up till 11 o'clock, so the cleaners waited patiently for them to rise every day.
The breakfast was lovely; the staff were very polite and courteous.
It was about a 2 minute walk to beach and the great restaurants.
We have been coming to Marmaris for 10 years and stayed in different parts of Marmaris but we think this is the best so far.
My daughter has begged us to go back to My Dreams [she’s 12] so were going again in May.
Take a travel kettle there are none in the rooms.

Well let’s just say it certainly wasn’t "My Dream" hotel! I’m struggling to think of a positive comment about this hotel. We were originally supposed to be staying in a different hotel which apparently was over booked hence we ended up in this so called 4* hotel, let me tell you this was definitely not a 4* they'd be lucky to get a 2* from me and my family.
Our rooms was rarely cleaned, bedding was changed I think twice the entire time we was there (we stayed 2 weeks) we had to ask them to come clean the room and all they would do is come and take the rubbish bin out. They wouldn’t even replace the towels, their policy was to change them twice a week, which in our second week they didn’t even bother.
The breakfast was the same EVERY DAY, cereal, melon and water melon, olives, cheese, breads and boiled egg or scrambled egg, they only had fried egg twice whilst I was there. Oh and this revolting drink. Breakfast was till 10am, however everything was gone by the time we came down at 9, and they wouldn’t replace the things that had run out, they rarely had plain yogurt, no body appeared to care to do anything about it.
Everything was an EXTRA at this hotel! an iron wasn’t provided, you had to pay 1 lira (50p) per item of clothing, for the pool table you had to pay 7 lira for half an hour which works out at nearly £3 and for air conditioning you had to pay £4 a day! You werent allowed to bring any food or drink in to the hotel, even though you had a fridge in your room, which by the way didn’t even work properly.
The staff was very unfriendly at times and didn’t care to help, they all were on their high horse.
To make it all worse we met a girl at the hotel who was working there part time as the receptionist, she started the time as our holiday started; now she was truly lovely, but it appeared she was being discriminated against by all the other staff, eg. they wouldn’t let her eat food and would always tell her its finished or she cant have any now as it will run out for the residents. Although they would go and fill their plates up and eat right in front of her, this is just one of the examples, there’s many more but I would have to write a book to fill them all in, we found this out on the night before we left, as I went to reception to get my key to find one of the male workers was arguing with her when she threatened to go to the police, I could see she was upset so I took her up to my room.
It was only then a lot was revealed to us, she told us how she hadn’t been paid for her work and was returning to her country (Serbia) in 5 days, the manager/owner kept fobbing her off and then just disappeared, she was told he's left the country and won’t be back for her return, she then also revealed that all these extra charges are only for the English, for everyone else they’re free!
Anyway this review is turning in to an essay so I should stop now, don’t get me wrong the hotel didn’t stop us from enjoying our holiday we had a brilliant time, went on about 8 excursions all booked with Martin at No Name across the road. Marmaris wasn’t as cheap as we had expected the prices were the same as they are here in England, like a main meal would cost about £7 per person and that doesn’t include drinks starters, deserts, tea or anything.
So if you do go to Marmaris, make sure you don’t stay in this hotel or the chain of hotels owned by the same owner, the other two names I can remember are HERMES Hotel and THE ROYAL PLAZA Hotel sorry cant remember the other two.
Anyway hope this review was useful, take care and have a good holiday where ever you stay!
p.s. they also didn’t provide a kettle, tea or coffee in the room, they had no glasses for rinsing your mouth, and there was no room service...I think that’s everything!! :-)
