More Traveller Reviews of Aparthotel Udalla Park
Great Value

Me and my partner booked this hotel at the travel agent at the last minute and so were unable to check it out on TripAdvisor. When we did we were quite worried. However when we arrived we found the hotel to be more than adequate. The hotel reception was very nice and clean and check in took two seconds. We had a normal twin room that we felt was definately large enough. The only down points were that we had to pay for the TV (something that we have had before in budget hotels) and the balcony looked out onto a busy main road, however we were told this before we went at the travel agents. The pool area is nice, if a little small. We never ate at the restaurant/pool bar and only bought one bottle of water on the day we stayed round the pool, which was 1,50 euros for 500ml, which seems a little pricey. We did not see many guests around the hotel, but those we did see all seemed to be young and not English. There were especially atlot of Spanish groups who made a little noise at night but nothing I would say was over the top - especially considering they were on holiday and enjoying themselves. The location is good. It is a little further away from the beach then we were told (700m) but not too much further. The hotel has a supermarket but there is a much bigger one just round the corner that has everything you should need. During the day we spent one day round the pool, one at Aqualand, one at Jungle Park and the rest round the beach. The beaches nearby are all nice, and were not too busy when we went (3 Apr to 10 Apr). Aqualand and Jungle Park are definately worth a visit if you like them. I will write seperate reviews for them but they offer a nice alternative to just sunbathing. As for eating and drinking - there is a very nice strip nearby with about 6 English/Irish/Scottish bars that have good entertainment and good cheap food especially breakfast. For those with a bit more to spend there is a good complex next to these with slightly pricier, but not bank-breaking restaurants. We especially recommend Star of Asia for a good Indian and The Bulls Head for night entertainment (had a very good band every night). Beer at this strip was around 4 euros for a pint of John Smiths, local lager abot 2 euros. If you fancy a more clubbing style holiday this hotel is not far from the main strip but we went there once and got so fed up of touts we turned around. All in all I would recommend this hotel for a cheap sunny getaway, it might not be the best hotel you stay at but it does the job.
good hotel

We had booked our hotel and then seen your site so we went with some trepidation!! When we arrived we found the reception area quite dark but the staff were very pleasent and helpful. The room had been refurbished recently and we found it clean and comfy!! The bathroom was clean and the linen and towels were changed every second day. The food was quite basic but edable and plenty of it. The pool area was clean and the pool itself was clean and big enough for everyone to swim. The location of this hotel is spot on as well. If you want to spend your time at the beach you are literally 5 min walk from las vivantes beach. You are also in between Americas and cristianos so you have the choice of what entertainment you want. We have been to Americas a few times and we would def go back here. You get what you pay for and here is basic but cheap as wel!!
Great place! Would stay again no problem!

My sister and I stayed in this hotel for a tortnight half-board. It was my first time abroad but my sister has had many trips to different countries/hotels. We both agreed that the staff were friendly and the hotel was clean, with good service. Towels changed every other day, bedlinen twice in the fortnight. Cleaners always about. (working) The food was good with lots of variety. It cannot be easy catering for so many different nationalities each day. There was always a meat, fish, chicken and pasta dish available, loads of salads, breads, and fruit, cheese, cooked meats etc. The staff were friendly and helpful and one waitress spoke english as well as we did! The recently refurbished rooms were clean and fairly well equiped. (bring your travel kettle) Unfortunately there is no air conditioning but we managed without it perfectly. Our door was a bit tricky to open for the first few days but that was because it was newly fitted and the lock was a little stiff. When we arrived at 5.30 a.m. we thought we would be disappointed because the foyer looked a bit dark and dismal but next day it looked much better! They would need a lift going all the way to the foyer for transporting suitcases. There are four or five steps to negotiate. All in all we enjoyed our holiday and I would have no hesitation in staying there again or recommending it to others.
DIRTY,NOISY,TIRED,FOOD UGH ! PLEASE DON'T STAY HERE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We knew in advance this was Budget accommodation but nothing prepared us for what we suffered. We stayed 10 days and reported problems but no action was taken by staff nor management.Cleaning : perhaps somebody came in once every two days and waved a duster about, because on the day we arrived I wrote CLEAN ME in the dust on top of the TV and it was still there on the day we left (see photo). The standard of decoration and maintenance was horrendous, dirty, stained, worn out,the bath was stained and rust pitted and hot water virtually non-existant,just about enough to have a VERY quick shower. A superb supply of ANTS (at no extra charge) running all over the kitchen worktops, reported second day and you guessed it,nothing at all done about it by the staff. Our room was above a shop/cafe which opened at 5am every day so we did'nt need an alarm clock because the noise of chairs & tables being shunted about did the trick and got us up for an early start every day,we asked to be moved to a quieter appartment but the staff were'nt having it and seemed surprised at our complaint. The Internet facility did'nt exist because it was "Out Of Order".The pool area was OK if you were prepared to take on the TOWEL reservation brigade whom were all German and a rather dour, unfriendly lot,the FOOD was aimed at these clientele and I'm not a fan of German sausage which was always on the menu, even for breakfast, all the cold food was of an acceptable standard but the hot food was'nt appetising nor worth the extra amount for half board, eating out was far cheaper and much more appetising. We will visit Tenerife again but would never consider a return visit to Udalla Park Aparthotel !

I do not agree with the reviews this hotel has had, we stayed there for a week half bored and didn't have one problem at all. The rooms hav recently been done up and are looking good, the staff were very friendly, hotel was clean at all times, pool was grand. If I do have one problem to add it was that there was not much choose of food at dinner times, just your usual pasta, chips, rice and meat dishes. But all in all I hav had an amazing holiday stayin at Udalla Park and would happily go back in the future
Very BAD !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Stay away

The room was booked via www.monarch.com.BE aware!!!!! We stayed in the Udalla park hotel 3 nights and we had a very bad experience! room 227 was just OLD,bathroom falling apart,No hot water(only 14 liters(so if one of us takes a shower the other has to waith one hour to get water agai.BAD! We had half board , Thanks God not all inclusive. The food was just awfull (old, dry) eaven the musli was a bit smelly. The big "head waither" was to pushy with the drinks. When we didnt order anything was mombaling something in spanish(probably not something nice)The waitress(should be senior citizen) has never smiled, and it was rushing to finish our meal that she can pick the plates up. Te maide service was again just bad.Cleaning just every second day and you got the old bed linnen back to your bed.(not fresh, clean ones) The phone in the room wasnt working.Cables sticking out from the wall. The owner of this place should invest some of the profit back to the hotel.(they trying but aint enaugh) Wont return and wont reccomand to any body.
Beware!

We booked Udalla park knowing not to expect the ritz but it was horrible. When we first arrived (a party of 4) we were told that they only had one room for us and tried to shove us in there. We refused so my mum and her sister had to spend a night at a sister hotel down the road. When they went to dinner (we had paid for all inclusive) they were told that they had been moved into apartments so had to come back to the udalla park for dinner. After the first night, the moved back to the main hotel and got their room. The rooms themselves were ok. There was enough space for me and my friend to get ready and the balcony was big enough. I did have to complain about the funky stain on my bedsheets the first night and the dead cockroach in my fridge! I went and ventured into my mum and aunts room and noticed that there was a raised tile by their mini staircase that leads to the seating area. I reported this too but nothing was sorted. Later in the week my aunt tripped over this raised tile, went flying down the stairs and broke 2 of her ribs! She spent time in hospital and was in agony for the rest of the holiday and I bet that raised tile is still there! The food in this hotel in biabolical! There was not any hot snacks in the daytime (bearing in mind we paid £400 for all inclusive) They put a tray of ham and cheese sandwiches out at about 11 am and they sat there all day without a cover, going crusty. Every single meal we had for lunch/dinner tasted like it had had the flavour sucked out of it...it was dry, bland, unedible! By halfway through the week the whole of our party were eating out at the restuarants because we couldn't bear another tasteless meal! The pool area was a mess! The kids pool had cracked tiles all the way round it and large rubber rings and other floats etc were not permitted. There was one family who hadn't seen this sign about inflatables and the caretaker came out with a big knife and burst them all in front of the kids. To top all of this, we were waiting for our taxi to the airport on the last day, it was due at 1pm, so I decided to get a drink while we were waitng. Because we were going home our all inclusive didn't count anymore and we had to pay for the drinks....as if this hotel hadn't annoyed us enough! I love tenerife and will definetly go back but I would never stay in this exucse for a hotel....and I'm only 22...the non-fussy generation!
Great no heirs and graces stay

Udalla park is an apartment hotel. This should not be confused with a hotel! I have just got back from here last week, and I have to say, upon reading the previous review, things do seem to have improved. Upon booking this holiday we were under no illusions that this was budget accommodation, the price reflected this. We found staff generally helpful, though you always get a couple who you sense don't like foreigners! Our room was passably clean, beds comfy. If I had to whinge about something concerning the cleanliness, it would be the bathroom. Although surficially clean, you got that urge to get the flash n bleach out!! while there we did see one cock roach on the floor, but I stress it was one, and this isn't unusual abroad I don't think it was somthing the hotel could prevent in all honesty. The food was less than average. However We found there was always fresh salad, bread, pasta, fruit etc. There was definately something to find. Same with breakfast, though it was very 'establishmety' school dinners came to mind! However I have to say, I found the cleanliness around the food area excellent. I would only book this if you are looking for a budget break, however it is far from terrible, and we actually had a fab holiday overall. The location is brilliant, just out of the loudness of the nightlife, but walking distance to everything. Watch out for Marie on reception, she's fab, really lovely brit lady very helpful, and good fun. she's the one to go to if you want to know anything. Hope this helps. Good luck!!
This Report is the Truth...................

Right then where do i start, the hotel its self. Well first inpressions where not that inpressive, shabby hotel sign and unlit outside enterance, not attractive at all. Clenliness, well overall it is probley its strongest point, however a lot of room for inprovment, a lot. The pool side looked ok but i seen a guy painting the side of the pool instead of cleaning it, i also seen him walking down corridors doing the same lol. Food, well OMG this hotel is the worst iv ever been to for food, honestly i wouldnt of give it to my dog, infact if i had a pig i ]t wouldnt of got that. It had squid piella, some thing that they called meat honest i think burger kings burgers had mors meat in them, chips n scallops were on every night n full of oil, breckfast was either 1 sausage or bacon (alternate days) beans that were cold, fryd bread and jam n toast. All the breckfasts on the island are not really up to much but there is a place called aberdean stake house next to the rovers return that dose a good 1 for 3euro, u get 3 sausages 3 bacon eggs beans tom toast chips it really is the works. Service, well i have to say the service was ok, i got locked on the balcony as the latch locks on the inside so watch out lol, and the night porter came to let us out. The waiters were not bad except for the head one he is a bit funny, you have to pay for your drinks with your meals to, whats that about. Well thats it really but to be honest dont book this hotel its shocking, its really not worth the money but if you do go, just make sure you go self catering there are 2 hobs in the rooms with pots and things but eat out most of the time its the best way....................... Well i hope this helps you and i really wish i wood of read this befor i went............ anyways enjoy ur holiday.
My Winter Holiday

My wife and I went to a three star hotel in las americas for 4 weeks on 21.02.2003. Although the area we lived in was very nice and near the beach and the weather was lovely. Everything was perfect except for our hotel,. The hotel was named the Uddala Park and it was the worst hotel that we have ever been in. The meals were awful and nearly always cold. the hotel rooms were basic but clean, but not up to 3 star standard
louise & Majella from Derry march 2011 we stayed in the udalla apt for 1 week at the start of March 2011. overall they are basic, bathroom decent enough but kitchen area not great no kettle which was a bit of a nitemare, only got towels changed once which wasn't great. ... more
