Novotel Cornella Hotel

Great hotel for visiting Barcelona and provides excellent value for money. We stayed for 3 nights at about 1/3rd of central Barca hotel rates and it was only a 15 min train ride to Pl. Espanya. Breakfast was great value and kept you going until late lunch, when you were able to grab a table in a restaurant in central Barcelona. Very convenient for the airport, but beware the fact that taxis will charge a min. fare of EUR15 to take you from the airport to the hotel as they miss out on a central town fare... The hotel itself was great. We had a family room for two adults, a fifteen year old and an 11 year old and the room was just big enough. We paid for breakfast as kids eat free and there was a good choice of hot and cold food. Don't eat there for your evening meal though. It cost us about 95 euros for our dinner on the first night. We only ate there because we arrived quite late and the menu was very "catalan" with nothing that my young daughter really wanted to eat. Stayed in this hotel for two 1 night stopovers. Usual Novotel layout (possibly slighlty better bathroom) ideal for two adults and two children, great weekend rate. Nice outdoor pool and a couple of restaurants nearby. Easy drive to and from airport. Everything I wanted for a stopover.

We had a 2 night stay here prior to our cruise. We arrived very late into BCN, around 23.30 so needed a hotel not too far away. The taxi was around 17 euros from the airport and about 23 euros from the hotel to the Port. Checking in was nice and easy and friendly. Lots of superficial attractions - nice bathroom, pool, well decorated and clean but when you boil it down, a hotel has to get 2 things right as it is ostensibly a place to sleep for the night. These things are a bed and a room which are both quiet and comfortable. Although a mid-February day, our room was stifling hot. Although it claims to have air conditioning, the reception explained that this was turned off during the winter months and could only suggest that we opened the window (and were generally unhelpful). Stayed here with with our two young children... we find Novotel good value for families as they accomodate up to 4 people in one room... somehow they price the superior room for the same price as standard room so made it even better value. The Hotel is a short walk from Almeda Train station which is about 20 minutes from the City Centre... if you don't mind that little train travel (like us) you can save a bit of money by staying here rather than the City centre .. the tickets are approx 6 Eur for 10 rides on the train/metro... there are... more

This is a first class hotel, having stayed in loads of quality hotels this is one of the best I have visited. The rate was really good and the hotel is close to an El Cortes Ingles (department store) which is also brand new huge absolutely huge, very modern and opulent. The hotel is also close to tube/metro 250 metres Almeda and there are trains to the centre that run every 10 minutes. The hotel charge for parking, but there is plenty around on the street. This hotel is modern and convenient.The rooms are very confortable and soundproof so we could sleep like roses..., the bathroom is modern and has a real bathtub and a seperate showercel.The staf is very helpfull and friendly. Breakfast is very good value with a large choice of almost everything you can wish for.This hotel is also great value especialy if you can book it on the Accor site or get a special deal.the pool is a bit small and as its located near the motorway it is noisy. Our family of 2 adults and 2 children aged 14 and 12 stayed here in August 2005. This hotel is very modern and clean. It is a half hour tube ride from central Barcelona but is much quieter and much cheaper than those in the centre. It has a fab pool with a pool attendant who supplies clean towels free of charge. The breakfasts are nice, 13 euros each and the children eat free if they are staying in your room. Stayed at the Cornella during late September. It's a little way out from the centre, about a 10 Euros trip by taxi from Placa Catalunya, but very reasonable as there were 4 of us visiting. For those who prefer the metro/tube, there is one conveniently situated a hundred metres or so away. Modern, recently opened Hotel with good facilities.
