We had never been to Crete before and decided to try an all inclusive hotel. Although we had read some negative comments, we were not disappointed.
We had a first floor room which gave us a pleasant view, but most importantly we were made so welcome by the owners and others who worked there. There was always a good choice of freshly prepared/cooked local food at each meal plus plenty of pasta, salads and fruit. We ate really well and because we complimented and talked to the staff, we enjoyed our stay even more.
The only negative was that all the other guests were non-English speakers which was sometimes difficult for us and our two 15 year olds, but Stalis was safe for them to stay out late at night where they met other English teenagers and the area was a friendly and fun place to be for us all.

This was without doubt the worst hotel I have ever stayed in.
Supposedly a 4 star hotel, I wouldn’t give it 2, rooms were less than clean, the bathroom flooded out every time you took a shower, when you sat on the terrace in the evening the lawn sprinklers would go off at 11 pm and drench you. So much for the room.
Food (if you could call it that) was rotten, chips from the night before mixed in with the scrambled eggs at breakfast, we ate out a lot even though we had booked half pension.
Staff couldn’t care less, Travel reps too.

We have stayed at the Sunny Beach for several years running and it is our preferred Hotel in Stalis having stayed in other top hotels in Stalis.
The food is excellent and many of the vegetables are grown by the owner.
You are made feel very welcome by the owner and staff. The staff have been there for several years which speaks for this well run hotel itself.
The accommodation is excellent and we would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel.
We will go back again and again.
