Overall a good place to go ...but
from Yalls
Ok I have just come back from a weeks holiday in Marmaris. Quick version- clean basic accomadation cheap n cheerful Long version-I went with my friend we were both in our mid -twenties. On first impressions the hotel is very nicely presented. It was clean and remained so throughout the week as the maids cleaned everyday, changed the bedding and towels daily. The room was very basic but for what we paid we had no complaints. The hotel staff are very friendly and go out of their way to help you. Its true the beach is about 3 footsteps from the hotel front, however it really is not much of a beach, we never sun bathed there if you walk about 100 metres left or right the beach area is a lot more spacious. Providing you buy food or drink from the waiters you can lie there in peace all day. ( service on the beach was excellent) You will receive alot of hassle from people trying to lure you into their eating establishments along the beach front any timeof the day. It was very lively when we went and I would say it caters to all ages. The food in every restaurant we went to was very samey but the quality was good. Faros was particulaly nice. The times we ate in the hotel the food was good too. The breakfast was very boring and the same everyday. I dont know if I could face bread or a boiled egg again!! ( expected to pay around £10 for an evening meal) The downpoints of the hotel. The entertainment was the same every night needless to say it got boring especially if you were trying to sleep it felt as though the party was in our room (we were at the front of the hotel so I dont know if it was quieter at the back) the "noise" started at 9.30pm- 1am One day after a day out the hotel receptionist ask to look in our bags with no explaintation he was not intrusive however this behaviour annoyed us, as we still dont know what he was looking for. On our last evening as we had left the hotel someone from the hotel came running after us saying we had forgotton to pay a bill this was rubbish as we paid cash for everything we ate we had to walk back to the hotel to be confronted by a guy who said he saw me eating the food on this occassion luckily we only ever got served by Max and he cleared up the mis understanding but to be accused so blatantly left a our taste in my mouth and for that reason I would not return to this hotel. I can forgive an innocent mistake but the guy said he saw me eating there and was not true. Aside from these incidences it really wasn't too bad and we had no complaints.
friendly staff great place

We have just returned home from staying two weeks at the yuvam hotel. Rooms were spaciouse and clean. the staff were brilliant very friendly and put on entertainment seven nights a week. Although the resort wasnt very lively when we went, the.yuvam seemed to have the best atmosphere. just a small hotel in between two larger ones it seemed to attract the most custom. the meals we ate there were very good no complaints. It is situated right on the beach were they provide plenty of free sunbeds, also a beach waiter to bring drinks and snacks. Nothing was to much trouble. The night we left they took all our luggage to the bus for us ,and all the staff gave us hugs and kisses something we have not experienced on previous holidays. We are certainly thinking of going back again next year, just hope the staff are as friendly. The onlydownside is that the hotel pool is situated at the back of the hotel and doesn't get any sun, but because you are right on the beach we didn't find that a problem. have just returned from a stay at the Yuvam hotel marmaris, had the most relaxed and restful holiday. All the staff at the hotel were friendly ,helpful and extremely entertaining. I can honestly say that the staff in the restaurant, bar and reception were the life and soul of the party! Nothing was too much trouble for them and they went out of their way to make the holiday a most memorable one for us.- we will definately be returning. The food in the restaurant is top class, well cooked, beautifully presented and plentiful not to mention very good value for money. I cannot praise it highly enough. Thanks to everyone at the Yuvam, Nami, Umet, 'Antonio Bandaras' , the amazing dancing waiter and of course little Ozzie - hope his romance blossoms!
from bar to beach in 4 steps

I have just returned from a week at the Yuvam Otel in Marmaris, Turkey, and have had a brilliant time! The hotel although only rated as a 3* should have been in my opinion more on the lines of 4*+. The rooms are immaculate and cleaned everyday, with a change of towels and bed linen everyday. The view from the balcony is awesome both day and night! The beach is 4 steps over the promenade from the front of the hotel. Friendly staff are there to welcome you and help give you the relaxation you want! I went B&B, but there was the option to go half board if you wanted. The food in the restaurant was delicious and steaks were cooked to perfection. A must has to be the apple pancakes.....wow! (unfortunately only tried these on the last day!)Also have to mention, trying the Irem restaurant, which is situated between the shops which are behind the beach hotels. They sell a variety of gold/leather/and 'genuine' designer T-shirts and jeans. The linen is second to none. You can catch a boat taxi to Icemeler from the front of the hotel where a weekly market is held on a Wednesday. Marmaris has its own market on a Thursday. On the beach you can do various water sports to from jetski's to doughnuts to hang gliding. So there is plenty of activity but also excellent sun bathing opportunities! The 'promenade' boasts hotels/restaurants and bars, which are all lively, and suitable for all age groups. Just wish I'd booked 2 weeks!
A top place to stay!

I have just come back from a week in the sun with 2 friends. We got a late deal and ended up at the Yuvam. I read a couple of reviews before we went, and I was a little bit unsure about what to expect, but I was very pleasantly surprised when we got there. We didn't arrive until the early hours, but the guys who were still up were so smily and friendly. The rooms are basic, but were fine for what we needed, to be honest we weren't in very much. The beds are comfortable enough, and the bathroom was nice. All the staff are amazing, so friendly. They couldn't do enough for us and were very entertaining, especially Antonio Bandaras (what a legend!) Timur, Ali (behind the bar),Ozzy and the other waiters were great fun, and up for a laugh. Each night they put on a show with dancing and crowd participation which was very funny. The food was lovely, and not overly priced. Normally we managed to get some sort of deal on a bottle of wine, or a cocktail (always handy!) The only downside of the trip was that it wasn't long enough! We enjoyed every minute of our holiday, met some really lovely people and had a great week of hot weather. Anyone thinking of giving the Yuvam a miss because of bad reviews should go and check it out for themselves, you won't regret it!
Ourpersonal view of the Yuvam Hotel
from Scott'n'Gill
We have just returned from our explosive week in the Yuvam Hotel, Long Beach, Marmaris. The hotel itself was ok and the staff inside the hotel were very friendly and the maid came daily and there were clean towels daily. The room was not to bad, it was clean which is the main thing but it was very basic but what do you expect for a cheap holiday. The food wasn't to brilliant and basic came to mind, in the morning it was fruit, breads and cereals, the evening meal was fantastic if you were a gerbil so we ate out every night. The hotel bar is shocking and the staff are very overpowering to get you in and you have to wait ages for your meal to arrive and when it arrived it wasn't worth the wait also watch your bills as they seem to think up new amounts everyday. The biggest plus for the hotel is the location and if your a beach lover then this is the hotel for you as its a less than 2 meters away. Just to inform you a little about the resort, for food you can't go wrong with Faros as the food was excellent, the staff were very friendly and very well priced. There are a couple of thing to watch out for when your over there but the main thing is to check you bills for over charging. There is just one last note if you male a turkish shave is a must but if your female whatever you do DO NOT get your hair cut over there the will make a right hash of it !!!! Take no notice of the bad review about the Yuvam
from Sparkle1505
In July 2006 my partner and I hastily booked a week at the Yuvam through the tour operator Goldtrail. We were less than two weeks away from the annual leave we had from work and were desperate to find a good last minute deal. After booking online, I looked on this website and read some really quite awful reviews of the hotel. So appalled was I that I actually phoned Goldtrail to try and change the booking. However, it was too late and we would have incurred a prohibitively expensive admin fee. We decided to bite the bullet and change hotels over there if things were really that awful. How surprised was I on arrival at Hisarano to find a hotel that did not fit the inaccurate description left by a number of other TripAdvisor members! It was basic yet clean and compact and staffed by a really friendly and helpful family. The room, although by no means five star, was cool, spotless and spacious and the breakfast served each morning fresh and plentiful. The pool area was immaculate and patrolled by a very nice man who kept the patio and garden impeccably clear. If there was a downside to the experience, it was the distance of the hotel from the main resort centre which would not make it ideal for people who have trouble getting around. We overcame this by walking (downhill) the 15 minutes into town and paying a mere 8 YTL for a taxi back up. In short, please do not be put off by some of the bad reviews. They have clearly been written by people who fail to understand that simple and basic are the bywords in Turkey. If you want plush and luxurious, try the Canaries and pay a hell of a lot more. The Yuvam was a great base for what was a lovely holiday. Please feel free to email me at grccommunications@yahoo.co.uk if you want more information about the place.

wot ever they promise you do not excpect ie hairdryers living rooms,as these are for the hotel owners family and friends, and yes you can not get on any of the sun beds as most of the staff are usually on them, you cannot sit in the caballa at night because they sleep in there, and watch how much they charge you for your drinks they change the price every night, not very helpfull unless you are paying for something.the so called chef, come cleaner, come general dogs body, looks like he needs a bath, totally disapointed in this holiday couldnt wait to get home.oh and no we did not pay a cheap price iether,we will never go on a goldtrail holiday again.we was stranded at the airport for twelve hours even though the reps new there wasno plane for us never in the twelve hous we were there did any rep come and see us or offer us a drink or something to eat totally disgusted in this company.but hissanaru is a gorgerus place and the locals are lovely, you have to visit the piano bar, such lovely people ,so is the robinhood bar and you must visit oldernez beach with the blue lagoon out of this word
Truth about the Yuvam

Read the reports before I went and was dreading going. Booked a 2 star with Goldtrail Holidays and on arrival was pleasantly suprised after what I had read. Lovely pool area with nice views. Rooms very basic but then a lot of places in Turkey are - for a 2* and the price we paid £192 for a week B&B - I don't think there was anything to complain about. If people want 5 * they should pay 5* prices. Breakfast was very basic - bread, jam, honey, olives and cheese but I have not had more anywhere else in Turkey even in a 3* star hotel. The rooms were very clean but basic. Our room had a balcony but unfortunately some rooms did not - they were like cellar rooms and I would not have liked to say in one of them. It was a bit daunting in the mornings because the staff had to sleep on the sunbeds by the pool because they did not have any rooms but on speaking to local English people who have moved to the area it is quite normal. I have never seen it before in Turkey or anywhere in the world and felt sorry for them. The only problem we had was that they charged us for the air conditioning on the last morning even though we had not used it. They threatened to keep our luggage and not to let us get on the coach so we paid up. Not very pleasant. But overall we had a very nice week. We have stayed in far worse in other countries even though they are supposed to have been 3* or 4*. Go with an open mind and do not expect too much. The Hotel is up a steep hill and the brochure did not mention it and I think they shoud. Ok to walk down but we had taxi's back up. Overall a nice cheap week away. (Carmarthen)
The Yuvam rocks
from Daz1
When i booked my stay at the Yuvam I was unable to find any reviews on it, this is the reason i am writing this one. Firstly, the Yuvam is only a small hotel but the location (right on the beach front) is superb. The rooms as what you would call basic, but are kept spotlessly clean and comfortable. Because of the Yuvams size my party and I were treated fantastically well from the moment we arrived. The staff, from the guys on reception to the waiters in the restaurant, were all fantastically hospitable and couldn't do enough for us whatever the time, day or night. The food (we went HB) was a joy. Breakfast as ever in Turkey is basic but the evening meals were very tasty and on most occasions too big for us to finish. And the entertainment in the evenings was brilliant. It seemed that our hotel, although one of the smallest on the front, was always the busiest and most fun to be around. We enjoyed our stay in Marmaris so much that I am already planning to go back there next month, and the main reason for this was the Yuvam. Book me in guys i'm coming back in a few weeks.
We have been going to the Yuvam Hotel since it opened every year (sometimes twice a year)for the last 14years. The Keles family are like my family and treat us as their family(best in the world)will do everything to make sure you enjoy your holiday.Every member of the... more
