we asked to be moved from a terrible place, at first thomson wanted 200 euros and 3 cents but i refused to pay after 4 days on the phone they decided to move us , we ended up at parasun in ixia, i think this was a punishment for complaining, the place was absolutely filthy, 1 bin in toilet which we had to take to a big rubbish bin up the lane along with other rubbish, NO bed change NO cleaner, buy your own toilet roll and do your own cleaning, i spent first 2 days cleaning. i dont think it had been cleaned at all during the season, utensils were dirty, beds were torture to sleep on , fridge was a rusty mess . i am surprised thomson have a place like that, i expect BASIC in greece but i also expect basic cleanliness, DO NOT GO THERE, I COULDNT WAIT TO GET HOME AND I AM STILL RECOVERING, LOTS MORE I COULD COMMENT ON BUT I THINK YOU SHOULD GET THE MESSAGE,

My partner and I stayed at the Para Sun for 2 weeks in October. Worst accommodation we have ever stayed in.
We know it was 2 star and basic but, we have paid less for accommodation and got a better quality of room and service.
The whole 2 weeks we were there, the bathroom bin wasn't emptied, which I thought was disgusting considering this is where used toilet paper is disposed of. They only provide you with your first toilet roll. Only 2 towels are provided, 1 each. 1 sheet and my pillowcase was changed the whole 2 weeks, my partner's was left untouched. Only the floor in the bathroom was cleaned, once. The fridge was rusty. The swimming pool was full of leaves. There were cats roaming about all over the place.
There was a menagerie of rooster/cockrells in the neighbouring property to wake you at silly o'clock in the morning.
There was a big gap around the door to the apartment which let in bugs and rain when it did rain. At the Para Sun NO sun apparently with solar powered means NOT HOT WATER. I thought they only needed daylight not sun to power them?? even with sun the water is lukewarm and doesn't stay that way very long.
If you arrive late at night, like we did, don't expect a warm welcome but a note left on reception door telling you what room you're in.
All in all a terrible place to stay :(

My Husband and I stayed at the Parasun in ixia in october for two weeks and it was horendous,
there was only one bin in the appartment in the bathroom for the toilet waste paper which we had to empty ourselves along with buying your own toilet paper, the studio was dirty with things under the bed from previous holiday makers and they were still there when we left so just goes to show how badly they were cleaned one sheet at the top of the bed was put on the bottom and then a clean sheet on the top thats all in two weeks, the fridge was filthy and unusable we were told it was 200m from the resort centre but more like 1 km there was two bars and a supermarket about 200m from the block with a busy main road to cross the pool looked blue and clean on the brochure but in reality was green and dirty and not cleaned at all in the two weeks, the owners were nice till you complained then she turned nasty no lights outside the appartment and marble flooring so if they got wet they were slippy also no handrails up the stairs to the first floor appartments we had a few wet days so no hot water for 4 days please beware of the invite to barbques ect as we were invited to a family b bque on the second day but hen after we were charged 36 euros for two of us not including drinks

Upon reading reviews before our holiday, we were nervous. However when we arrived at 1am the studios exceeded our expectations. Considering it is a 2* complex, we were pleasently surprised. The room was alot bigger than we expected and us 3 girls had a very comfortable stay for 2 weeks! If you do have 5 euros to spare a day you can hire a fan, but on our student budget we just slept with the balcony doors open which in late august took a few days to adjust to, but definately is possible. The kitchenette was small, and not well equipped, but had most things we needed and we did cook alot. People have to remember it is a 2* complex, its not going to be luxury! The room was cleaned 3 times a week and sheets changed etc, overall the whole place was really clean.
The staff were fantastic and Paras and her sons really made us feel at home, we were very well treated, as were all the other guests from what we saw. The family work so so hard and overall we had an amazing time, and could fault nothing about Parasun, definately value for money and many fond memories!

Very basic accommodation - no comfort at all, poorly equipped kitchenette - no toaster or rubbish bin. Nothing to sit on other than bed or plastic chair on balcony. Our door handle was broken and although this was reported on our second day it had not been fixed at the end of our two week stay. In August a fan is a neccessity and this is charged at 5 euros per day. Towels and sheets changed every three or four days but only bath towels provided and these were small and threadbare.
Studios were quiet and the pool and pool area were nice.
To reach the beach you have to cross a very busy main.

I stayed @ Parasun Appartment for a week in June 2010 and it was brilliant. It is run by Pris and her son George and family, all are welcoming and friendly. There is plenty to see and do in the area, would definately go again. Made some friends for life. The Appartments are away from the main road and other big hotels, but still close to the beach, shops/restaurants, and night life. If someone asked me what it was like I would say go straight away.

There's good and bad points with all holiday destinations. But this one you've got to watch.. Breakfast - Basic, good and clean BUT the cost changes from one day to the next for the same items -2 bowls of cornflakes 1 coffee 1 tea 10 euro 40 cent next day 11 euro 90 cents...
The FAN.. By day 4 a fan may appear in your room, on leaving Paris will inform you that you asked for one on arrival and will try to charge you a weeks fan rental..
Taxi's.. Paris will ring for a taxi BUT the final fare will have 5 Euro's added to it, this is given to Paris by the cab company - Thus 15 euros into Rhodes town and 10 to return. The local bus one way is 2 euro's..
The welcome evening meal is only 10 euro per person BUT once eaten the bill arrives at 15 euro per person plus your drinks ...
These are only small amounts but they can soon add up.
Rhodes town is not the best place to change British pounds, 0.88 euro was the going rate in June But a mini market in Ixia was doing 1.18 euro to the pound so shop around.
Boy George.. Yes he likes the ladies and likes to take a peak... Draw your blinds..

having spent a wek there (in fact im still here waiting to go home ) not that i want to.. myself mum dad and partner have had the best week ever.. the family are great it was like home from home. it may be basic rooms but comfortable. you dont come away to cook do you. i love the place and will def come back. my dad and mum are talking of coming back in sept this year.. its family run and they bring you into their family so all good. if you want 5 star then dont come here but 8 star for welcoming, laughter, and fun. we would recomend it. paras is lovely so is her sons. i just want to thank them all for a brilliant week and the lovely meals. oh and all the friends we met here to. real family feel and if your lucky enough to meet great people like we did it makes it all that more special.

We have just returned from 2 weeks in the Parasun and quite frankly, we enjoyed it. Yes, the room is basic but you really only sleep there. If you want somewhere in your room to put rubbish, use a plastic bag. If you want an extra pillow, ask for one.
The cleaner was a little economical with her expertise with the brush and mop so she was sacked while we were there. I suspect the poor reveiws around clealiness had something to do with that.
You want an iron? - go 5 star. Very few places on 2 star provide an iron or toaster come to that.
The beaches have been there for thousands of years, it may take a little longer to wear the stones down to sand - please be patient and take your rubbish away with you.
The Rhodes old town is stunning - do not miss it.
The taxis were on strike when we were there so we used the bus - 2.10 euro adult, 1 euro child - great value and a super way of making new friends quickly.
George likes the girls but at 36 perhaps he should be thinking more about ladies now.
