Hoping to go to this hotel next year 2008.

Submitted By: Mr M FENNINGSEs Cana is a very laid back resort with predomonately British people (but don't let this put you off!), there is entertainment although most of which is pretty low key, we found Charlies Bar by the quay side pretty good with Bingo and live acts every night, it did get busy though so get there early.
Plenty of bars to watch the football in and plenty of restaurants if you fancy a change from the hotel.
There are three beaches in fairly close proximity, we found the main beach in Es Cana a bit too busy and the loungers were quite expensive. The best beach and worth the half hour walk was Cala Nova, clean, great sand, cheaper sunbeds and big waves, what else could you ask for.
The hotel offered fantastic food through out our stay with plenty of choice. Always served hot and replenished often. Ok the menu did get a little repetitive in the 2nd week but this is to be expected and you can't please everyone although they did their best to.
The bedrooms were a little basic but were cleaned daily and after all you only sleep in them. Our room on the 2nd floor overlooked the pool and had a great seaview from two angles.
The only down side were the selfish early morning sunbed hoggers, you know who you are and it's not clever. Forget all those stories about the Germans, these were all British.
The island is very easy to get around on public transport and we visited Cala Llonga, Portinaixt, St Eularia and Ibiza Town all on bus or boat. We would probably hire a car on our next visit just to visit the places a bit more remote.
I don't often recommend hotels because it is always subjective but I would have no hesitation for this hotel. We'll be back.

Submitted By: Mrs C ROBERTSONAverage age group appeared to 60+, quiet hotel, entertainment was mediocre, best entertainment was Juan's bingo night.
Prior to booking our holiday I had read reviews on this hotel and they were mainly all excellent reviews which persuaded me to go ahead and book this hotel. Therefore I was quite disappointed.
The breakfast menu with a choice of Continental or full English Breakfast was really good, the dining room staff were very pleasant and attentive to your needs.
The evening meals were a bit disappointing, one evening in particular the choices were, Liver or Kidneys not to everyone's taste, there also had either fish and on most occasions there would be pork loin, which I had just about every night for the 2 weeks. The potatoes were always undercooked, the veg was from the frozen variety and the mash potatoes with tomatoes looked like the powdered variety. The soup was also out of a packet.
Although there was a sign up stating that the sunbeds could not be reserved, when we went down for breakfast about 8.30 they all had towels on them minus the people.
We spoke to another couple who had the view over the pool from their room and they said they saw people putting their towels on the beds just after 7.00 am.
The location of the hotel was quite central, not too far to walk to either of the two beaches, and a stone throw from the Hippy market which they had every Wednesday.
We took the ferry for 14 Euros return to Ibiza town, this was not a tour operator trip, but I would recommend taking this trip even just for the ferry ride there and back. It takes 1 1/2 hours from Es Cana and you have to change ferry's at St Eulalia. Take a walk up to the castle in the old town as the views are breathtaking. We went on a Sunday when most of the main shops were closed therefore it was quieter and you could walk around without bumping into people all the time.
I would give the staff of the hotel 10 out of 10, they were pleasant, helpful, attentive and very friendly. From the receptionist to bar staff, dining room staff and last but not least to the cleaners.

could not fault the food or entertainment.

" Lovely clean hotel. Spacious rooms.... "
Submitted By: Mrs S DaviesNo problem getting a bed by the pool, only drawback was that the sun disappeared off the pool area by 4 p.m. every day. Did get sun on the balcony all day though if you had a room at the back of the hotel.
A few good bars in the resort with entertainment available in the hotel and the bars every night.
A well deserved 3 star rating with no complaints. The other good thing was that we were never woken by the maids to come and clean our rooms early in the morning. A nice laid back holiday.
Fridge hire available, tea coffee facilities and hairdryers available for hire as well.
Remotes needed to be hired for the air con and TV but was wholly refundable when handed back.
I would rate this holiday as 10 out of 10.

Submitted By: samgazWhen we arrived we were greeted with a cocktail and showed to our room which was very clean and over looking the pool. The hotel itself was very clean and the staff very friendly. Juan the manager always had a smile on his face.
The food was very good and a choice for everyone. I’m allergic to nuts and they were very good as soon as they saw me go into the restaurant they would come and tell me what to avoid. The price of drinks was very reasonable the sangria was quite strong ideal.
Pool area was lovely proper sun loungers and the pool spotless.
Entertainment was geared for the older clientele but we didn’t care we were there to enjoy ourselves, we only stayed in once for the entertainment and that was Juan the manager doing bingo. I have never laughed so much he was brilliant.
For my husband's birthday at dinner they bought out a cake and sung happy birthday to him then brought us champagne which was a great touch to the holiday.
Es cana itself is very small there is a big bar on the front where we went most nights and some restaurants but for us maybe too quiet a resort. The buses run all the time to Ibiza town and other towns and very cheap. The hippy market is huge which is just up the road from the hotel but on a hot day and loads of people there it felt very claustrophobic.
The only little weenie gripe would be we had to put please do not disturb on the door as the maid would try and clean our room at 8 in the morning.
Other than that brilliant hotel and staff would definitely recommend this hotel especially as you have to be over 16 to stay in this hotel great getaway for couples.

Submitted By: derbyshireianA quiet and relaxing week and the staff could not do enough for you.
Location straight off the road but still quiet all week.
Hippy market 200 yards up the road on the Wednesday was the busy day - all other days really quiet.
A good few bars close to the hotel but no need to go out to eat because the food was good all week - and varied.
Good mix of age groups all week.
Entertainment was good as well and I am sure that some stayed at the hotel all week - we ventured out to see other entertainment in the resort which was varied as well.
I would recommend this hotel to anyone
Keep up the good work Paraoso Beach and we will be back soon.

Submitted By: Miss D WilliamsThe rooms are basic but clean, the staff have in the main all worked at a Thomson Gold hotel before and that is exactly how you are treated (like gold) they cannot do enough to help.
The food is fantastic, this hotel was only ranked as 2 star last year but has been upgraded to three, for me it was more like 5.
Highly recommended.
" We have just enjoyed a 2week holiday... "
Submitted By: Mrs N McKeanThis starts from when you first arrive at reception you are greeted with a cocktail and broad smile. You cannot single out one member of staff because they all are excellent, from the top right down to the bottom.
The cleanliness is apparent throughout the hotel from the pool area right to the bedrooms.
There is also entertainment each evening and this is of a good standard, the staff also like to take part which adds to the enjoyment.
Es Cana is a small but busy place and is very good for boat trips, as they leave from Es Cana to various places such as Formentera, this trip I would like to point out that if you opt for the beach be prepared to be dropped off on rocks, and also collected from this point on the return trip.
This may not be suitable for people with a disability or may prove to hot in high season for children, as there is no cover whilst waiting for the boat.
There is a very good Bus service and also a small train that takes you around the scenic route by road. Our trip was really one of the best, and we would have no hesitation in recommending this Hotel together with Jet2 holidays. Excellent value.

The staff could not do any more than they could to make you feel very welcome, that is all staff the reception, the bar staff and the resteraunt staff and the cooks, reely good.
the hotel standard was good for what you pay I would say it was on par with the travel lodge back in the UK only the weather was better. Entertainment was good varied from night to night however if you like classic rock then one of the acts that show every tuesday must not be missed two guys called 'ME and HIM ' fantastic lead guitarist.
Es canar beach was a dissapointment, quite dirty however a 15 minute walk around the corner is the beach of Cala Nova this was a great beach big, clean and fantastic waves great for belly boarding etc. night life in the town varied from bar to bar to many bars showing football for my liking only because it is the wrong shaped ball, i prefer Rugby,
The hippy market was not speacial just a normal outdoor markett, if you want a belt white linnen, or cd's then i suppose it is worth a visit but not that cheap.
Overall the hotel is sittuated just out of the main hustle and bustle, which I found good, comfortable size rooms not much of a view from balconys in standard rooms you are better of with a superior room on top floor more to look out to from the balcony, food excelent, enterainment good, staff very very friendly, looking forward to going back some time.
Good for: Beach
