This was the perfect "recluse" holiday where all you have to do is enjoy the wonderful hospitality of local islanders who are so friendly, welcoming and nicely inquisitive it is not true.
The only way to get to Folegandros is by ferry either from Piraeus or from Santorini. It is almost untouched by tourism and is refreshingly natural. We stayed Vardia Bay apartments which are located in an elevated position with wonderful views.
The accommodation is good albeit a little basic but well equipped. Highly recommended if you want the ultimate in get away from it all holidays.
