Me, my husband and 2 kids aged 15 & 18 went to this hotel all inclusive during May half term. We were pleasantly surprised with the whole complex which was very clean and modern. The food was good with plenty of choice, although at times difficult to find a set table when busy. There were lots of Germans but all the staff spoke English. The rooms were cleaned every day by friendly staff. The sound proofing inside the apartments. with the outside shutters and air conditioning, was excellent, even at 9am you woke up thinking it was still night time.

My husband was disappointed that there was no kettle and had to go to the restaurant for his early morning cuppa!

It was not nearly as busy as we thought it would be, there are 3 pools, one with slides, a wave pool and another pool, which was an excellent size and very quiet, this is where we spent most of the day.

Although a little out of the way, and the beach had lots of stones/pebbles we would definately recommend this hotel, but may be a bit too busy for us during the peak season July/August.

We booked a last minute deal, I read the reports before we left so I was aware of some issues they had last year.

We arrive on the wedensday and were very impressed newly painted, very clean very nice but alittle out the way. (not much around). We had 3 wonderful days until Saturday and all I can say is OH DEAR. half term and they could not cope, it all went wrong, the restaurant was overcrowded, then the evening entertainment was squashed into reception it was a nightmare. too many people not enough staff, music was to loud. The next night they moved the entertainment to the outside theatre which was better but took all the staff with them to the outside bar leaving a young incapable lad behind the bar, 20mins later we eventually got a drink. After making a compliant to managment which are ALL new this year and long with ALL the staff we were told to bare with them.

One thing i can say is Hats off to the Reps Altours and Club Columbus who are Italian and German but tried to speak/ include the English Kids.

To sum up this holiday

I was glad to get Home, but first 3 days were great.

Food is good, accomodation is clean, pools were great too.

BUT entertainment if you are english is limited the very young, teenagers and adults beware take something to do in the evening or you will be VERY bored.

Words of warning- AVOID IN HIGH SEASON unless you have patients and lots of it.

We have just returned from a week at this hotel. Me, my wife and two daughters aged 15 & 11.

Can can honestly say that it is probably the best holiday we have had.

The rooms were very good and excellently cleaned on a daily basis.

The pools were fantastic and we all enjoyed them.

The hotel is out of the way but there is a bus approx 300 metres away that goes to Kos Town. It cost 5.60 Euros for all of us though we got a taxi back at a cost of 10 euros. A taxi to Tigaki also cost 10 Euros each way.

You can hire bicycles at the hotel for 5 euros a day and you can also hire mopeds and quads.

I hired a 125CC moped for 20 euros and got to see most of the island.

The following day we hired a car and went out and about as a family. Driving was easy.

An important thing to remember is that the hotel promotes Hertz car rental (63 Euros a day for a Punto type car) but they have they have a little black book in a drawer at reception that has Kosmos car rental in. The Punto cost me 47 Euros with them!! Some receptionist claimed that they only do Hertz but I guess a more senior receptionist told me about Kosmos.

The food was very good.

We never really took part in the hotel entertainment but when we passed we did hear English being used as well has German etc.

The weather was fantastic.

We would definitely go back.

If I was to find a gripe it would be the fact that the bedroom had air con but the other room with the fold out beds did not.

We are a family of 2 adults and 2 children, aged 14 and 9.

We chose this hotel due to the kids clubs catering for both kids, especially the teen club, and were extremely disappointed to find that the entertainment catered for the very large German contingent within the hotel.

We paid that little bit extra to come here and relax thinking the kids would be entertained, but on finding everything in German the kids didn’t want to go. Our 14 year old daughter then spent a huge part of the holiday in the room, bored!

Our 9 year old son found a few friends and spent a lot of time on the slides and in the wave pool but even that wears thin after a while. The pools were the only part of the hotel that we felt should have been cleaned more often than they were.

The accommodation was excellent, we had a 2 bedroom apartment, cleaned every day, which was well set out and had plenty of storage space.

The restaurant was also excellent, with lots of variety during all the different mealtimes and although it did get a bit busy early evening it didn't warrant some of the comments it was getting.

The hotel grounds are well looked after and well lit at night. All the staff we dealt with were great and we would not hesitate to book again if the entertainment for the kids was as promised in the brochure.

A good hotel with fantastic swimming pools especially the water slides. My children loved them.

Food OK but a bit repetitive, the selection of fruit and desserts were limited. The restaurant got very crowded at times and often we had to clear our own table. Plenty of highchairs.

Rooms were great and very clean as was the rest of the hotel. Beware of the garden sprinklers in the evenings as they were often aimed at the paths and at balconies.

Entertainment was all in German, only one English song in the children’s disco which really upset my daughter as she loves dancing, didn't bother with the entertainment.

Hotel a bit far out from the main resort with nothing around it and 10 Euros to the centre. It only cost 23 Euros from the airport. You can hire a bike at the hotel for 10 Euros with children’s seats so a much cheaper way of getting to the resort.

Beach didn’t have much sand and lots of rocks when getting it but 5- 10 minutes’ walk was a much nicer beach. Ice creams plentiful for all with cake and biscuits available all day.

Would go back to this hotel as we had a great holiday, daughter hasn't stopped talking about the water slides.

Apartments were very spacious, food was great, lots of choice. Did not think anything to the entertainment, was more for the Germans. All inclusive did not include bottled water this had to be purchased, wasn't too expensive. There was a shop on site.

The wave pool was great, and the slides were great for all ages.

We had a 2 bed roomed apartment which was very spacious, it also had a large fridge/freezer inside, a safe which you paid for daily was not expensive, you could hire out beach towels if you required.

We went by the first choice brochure originally, so was a bit disappointed, as there was no watersports on the beach only the one restaurant not the 3 as quoted, the laundry room was no longer there.

All in all a great holiday kos is a lovely little harbour town, Tingaki is mainly bars and restaurants, but we really enjoyed it there, you can take trips over to turkey or Rhodes, on the ferries these were great.

The weather was great we went 26th may for one week it was about 34 degrees but there was a lovely breeze.

Overall the holiday we had was good, but you must be made aware of a few shortfalls in the hotel. I have mentioned these to the Manager, not as a complaint but in a friendly conversation we struck up as we were leaving.

We were aware of the bad press connected to the hotel build running overtime which forced some people to cancel their holidays. And so we booked and flew out for a weeks holiday arriving back on the 3rd September 2006.

The hotel is a little remote from the main road which is not a bad thing as it means no road noise, and although there is no bus stop nearby the management have arranged for a bus to run every morning from the hotel to Kos town which returns in the afternoon for about 2-3 Euros which is great. I know they are trying to increase this to a couple of trips a day, effectively making the hotel forecourt a bus stop for the convenience of the guests.

We checked in after a short taxi ride from the airport, one tip is that you should not pay extra for transfers. A private taxi will cost you about 20- 25 Euros, with no waiting for other people to be dropped off!

The staff at reception were helpful, and you are given a wristband denoting your "all-inclusive" status. Don’t expect any help with your luggage as you are handed a TV remote and one for the Air/Con and you make your way to your room by the help of a map. it is very easy to find your way, the paths are well lit and the blocks are named after Greek Gods so we for example we were staying in the "House of Hermes".

The rooms were clean and comfortable as you would expect of a new hotel. The beds were comfortable, linen crisp and NO BUGS! Bathrooms we clean too, and well equipped, with bath/shower, wc and hand basin.

The TV had several stations, mainly Greek with just Euronews and BBC World being the only English languages stations. There is a small fridge for cold drinks.

Food was served buffet style, with a mix of clean fresh salads(9/10) to the staple main courses which were from ordinary to very good. Do not expect a gastronomic delight. As they have to cater from the English tourists (chips with everything!) to Italians, Czechs and some Germans. Fresh watermelon, yellow melon, grapes and plums were available for dessert as well as excellent pastries and cakes.

My main gripe was that you had to queue up for water, and this was doled out from the kind on drinks dispenser you would find in a canteen! I mean a little mineral water on the tables at meal times would not break the bank, and would allow you to eat your food while it was hot. The variety of colas, and fizzy drinks was good but no healthy option of fresh fruit juice was available. So I was constantly explaining to my 6 year old that Colas were not good for him, and sugary fizzy drinks were for a treat only and not to be drunk with every meal. Beer was on tap, and I was told it was it local but good and well chilled.

The pools were great, which is one of the main reasons for booking this hotel. The water was warm, clean and life guards were on hand at the 2 main pools. The waterslides were not too fast, so were safe for my 6 year old son, however beware that the two fully enclosed slides can be a bit hazardous for adults to use. The pool is so shallow that people were grazing themselves on the bottom of the pools when exiting these. I myself slightly grazed my back coming out of the blue tube.

The wave pool is excellent and for 10 minutes in the hour gentle rolling waves rock the water, the rest of the time it is a gentle family pool safe for even the youngest children.

The pool bars cope well with the short queues (4-5 people) and at times there are no queues. The snacks at the pool consist of (spam like) ham/cheese rolls (I did not like these) pizza slices (slightly better) burgers in rolls (not brave enough to try) and some very nice cake. Ice creams were available too, but on one occasion it had run out by 2pm and the staff just shrugged their shoulders instead of getting more from the main kitchens. For two days the coffee machine did not work and when my wife tried to take a coffee out from the hotel to the pool area she was told that she was not allowed! This is not my idea of an all -inclusive holiday, provision must be made for these occurrences.

I would suggest to the management that healthier drinks and fresh fruit be available at the pool bar and mineral water not be treated as a luxury, we don’t treat it this way in the UK anymore, overall we had a good holiday and I hope the hotel makes a few changes to increase the quality and value to their guests. The staff were generally helpful and this could become a really good hotel, if the management takes note.
