The Karaovostasi Hotel is a small establishment in the little hamlet of the same name, about 5 kilometers down a side turning off the main road from Parga to Sivota. At the end of the turning is a sandy beach backed by a couple of tavernas, plus a small group of hotels. No nightclubs, no shops, nothing.
It is therefore ideal for anyone wanting a very quiet, secluded holiday. The folks running the hotel are very friendly, led by Dimitris who is Greek but who originates from Cardiff.
The rooms are very pleasant, either looking towards the road and, beyond that, the sea, or inland towards the well planted gardens, with the hills beyond. The food and drink is good, although the choice of evening meal is limited to a few dishes, buffet-style, from which you help yourself.
Just a short distance away, on the other side of the main road, is the village of Perdika, which can offer a few more tavernas and a few shops. Alternatively Sivota is only a shortish drive north or Parga a slightly longer drive south. Each of these are far more "touristified", with the facilities that tend to go with that description. Here also is where you go to pick up the local boat trips.
Want peace, quiet and seclusion? Do try the Karaovostasi.
