I booked an exec room with sea view for my first wedding anniversary. Upon arrival after a 7 hour drive, one of the employees told me that the owner had moved my booking to the following day and that he said I would not be happy. He then gave me a twin room the size of a cupboard overlooking the car park! The owner returned after 2 hours and claimed it was a computer glitch, then let slip that the room I booked had been subsequently booked for 6 nights. Do the maths! He did not offer a rebait or an apology. I did not have the booking confirmation so I started to doubt myself until I returned to work the following Monday and realized that I was right all along. Beware! I did not take up the offer of the twin room and had to drive another hour to find another hotel.

Spectacular location. Obviously undergone extensive & tasteful redecoration very recently. Spotlessly clean.
Accomodation excellent. Do book an "A" class front facing room if possible, with super-king bed/luxurious en suite facilities, new TV & above all, a bay window with 2 arm chairs from which to enjoy the awe-inspiring view. Top floor probably best.
Eat in either the restaurant or sun room adjacent to the bar. Breakfast taken in the latter with extensive buffet &/or cooked food to order, e.g. full English/kipper/haddock/ ham, eggs, etc. Food uniformly very good.
Residents can select from gourmet-style restaurant menu or plainer bar-type food (steaks, fish, shellfish, pasta, etc) at no extra charge.
Staff very helpful & friendly, not at all officious.
Probably not a good choice for small children. Cliff edge is a bit near & it's a long drop!
This is now my favourite hotel.
