Reviews of Paramount Aparthotel, Protaras

wow, what a shocker of a resort, only ourselves and one other couple were English. Also they neglected to inform us that during our 2 week stay, there would be in excess of 200 norwegians on a 'disabled' group outing. They basically took over the pool. The maid service was a joke, every 3 days at best! Also our air conditioning leaked, took 3 days to fix....not good!Food was s*** but protaras itself rescued the holiday

This is the second visit to the Paramount and it didn't dissapoint. The only differences this time was that there was a lot of building work going on very close to the hotel but to be honest we didn't pay much attention to it and it didn't affect our holiday. The second thing was that it was a lot more busy this time than in September when it was practically empty. Would still go back to this hotel without any hesitation and probably will.

We visit Protaras every year, sometimes twice a year and have stayed in many different SC apartments. We usually stay close to the centre so although we had driven past this hotel many times and commented on how nice it looked we were a bit apprehensive as it is quite a long way out of the resort. We need not have worried. It was by far the best apartments we have stayed in. The apartment was like most in Cyprus but with the added bonus that air conditioning was free ( we usually pay between 2-4 CY pounds per night). The rooms were very clean. The pool area is fantastic and as the hotel was half empty there were plenty of sunbeds. There were only a handful of English holidaymakers there, most of the guest seemed to be Scandinavian. Infact my Son is now in the Cypriot section of a Norwegian Travel brochure. All the staff were very friendly. There is a small man made beach about 200 yards away but the best beaches are further away.

We always hire a car whilst in Cyprus and because this hotel is not in the resort was definately necessary. There is a bus stop right outside the hotel but I don't think they run that frequently.

Would recommend this hotel to those who prefer not to be right in the centre of a resort.

I am sure that we will be returning to the Paramount in 2008.
