I have just returned from my holiday at Ayderia Hotel. On arrival my family was made to sit in reception as there was no family room available. We were shown three rooms all with two single beds in. There were three adults and a child and I had booked a family room.
After 30 minutes I was getting fed up. They then gave us another room, at first look it seemed alright.
The next morning we had no water and no electricity in the hotel as they didn’t have a generator. They had to cook breakfast on a camping stove! At the time we had to laugh, but over the next three days the water was switched off again through the day, it was so hot and we felt so dirty, as we could not shower.
Our balcony was rocking so we called the rep, and they declared it unsafe. We also had no light in our bathroom and the fridge didn’t work.
The food was the same everyday, and not very nice. People were complaining and asking to be moved to a different hotel. We were offered a move to another hotel, but not until the last day, so we didn’t see much point then.
We were advised not to swim in the pool as it hadn’t been cleaned; the staff said they didn’t have the equipment to clean it.
We could not believe the bar! It was one drink at a time, you had to finish one drink before they would serve you another, but they served everything separately i.e., you couldn’t have a vodka and coke, you got the vodka then once that was finished you could get the coke! They were also charging when it was meant to be all inclusive!
To be fair, the staff were really nice, and it was not their fault. The reps there are going mad and when you spend a lot of money and only go on holiday once a year, you want to enjoy it.
We were told that the hotel was on the beach but it was a bit of a walk down a dark road, not safe on your own, especial in the dark.
It’s a 2 star at the most, so I feel it was false advertising, so be aware.

Just returned from a fantastic week in the Ayderia hotel situated in Marmaris turkey. On first impressions we thought we had done a bad thing (we did arrive early hours).
But the next morning we were pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness and friendliness of the staff. The staff couldn't do enough for us and were so helpful. There was an excellent variety of food from a choice of two hot dishes served with chips, rice or pasta etc, lovely variety of salads and a wide choice of desserts. This is not the right hotel for fussy, none adventurous eaters. The hotel is family run and serves typical Turkish food with not alot of English dishes (well we were in turkey) if you want English food then go to Blackpool.
The choice of drinks was local beer, vodka, Raki, gin and soft drinks from cola, lemonade, orangeade, lime juice and tea and coffee. Ignore all the bad reviews as this is a really nice hotel but the bedrooms were basic (ideal for a base, to explore the area) if you want to stay at the hotel for your entire stay then you may become a little bored. The hotel is closely situated to the beach, town, restaurants and clubs.

Having booked a late deal with Vision holidays i read the above reviews with horror. I almost phoned and cancelled and to be honest was dreading the prospects of a good holiday. How wrong could I be!!
I found the Ayderia an excellent hotel, close to all the local amenities, the staff very helpful, the hotel clean and all of the rooms electrical equipment working properly. I did hear however that the hotel was completely renovated in the close season.
I must admit the food choice was quite limited, however still enjoyable, though fussy eaters may not find much to their taste. To conclude, I am planning to visit Marmaris again, and i will be staying at the Ayderia when I return.

If you want a place to base yourself then the Ayderia is fine it is a two minute walk from the beach and a five minute walk to the first set of bars/clubs with the town centre easily accessible by the small buses that run up and down the main road.
The plus is that there is a pool bar and you can leave all valuables upstairs in your room inc. money so that you don’t have to worry about walking away from your sun lounger also if, like us, your girls out there on your own then the hotel workers will take you out after the bar closes at 11 (on the dot by the way) and will fend off the continuous unwanted advances from the local men. And that’s where it stops. Please don’t expect a good service at the bar they are slow and most of the time miserable (and we made friends with them) and if their friends were about then chances of getting served verged on impossible!
The breakfast is every day the same omelette, scrambled egg or fried egg and toast then lunch and dinner are exactly the same salad, chips, pasta with chicken or turkey (all cold except the salad which was warm). So instead of going for lunch in the hall wait till after when the snack bar opens as they do nice pizzas and burgers.
The rooms are to be fair cleaned by the maids as best they can (ours use to fold all our clothes away back into the suitcases!) and you could leave anything lying around i.e. money or jewellery and it would all still be there when you got back.
The rooms are poor. The fridge smells and will work whilst you’re in there but once you leave and take the key with u it turns off!! The air con worked intermittently and we left it off as it made such a racket and the bathroom would have building regulators here running away in horror. And the curtains were useless as they only covered half the window allowing light to stream in from sunrise.
I would suggest that if you can (i.e. not already booked here) find somewhere near the town centre and go self catering. Marmaris has a massive selection of restaurants that cater for every taste and all seem to do so at a reasonable price.
To be honest I shan’t go back to Marmaris I found the people friendly if you were spending money but indifferent (or in some cases damn right rude) if you wasn’t. We used Marmaris as a place to top up our tans and this is really all it has going for it (we did try some sight seeing but not much to see) but there are better places to go for this were the people are friendly and more helpful!
If you are going here speak to Mischa, he is great will look out for you and is constantly friendly and smiling (also very cute!)

The Hotel Ayderia in Marmaris is in no way currently up to a 2 star standard yet alone a 3 star plus as made out – it may have been 3 star when it was run as half board but since it went all inclusive (I believe two to three years ago) it appears to have gone rapidly downhill.
The whole of the all inclusive buffet style meals was a joke. If you don’t eat chicken or turkey, you were left with a choice of cold spaghetti Milanese or salad. The chicken or turkey nearly always with chips or rice/pasta was served luke warm. The cereals for breakfast were a health hazard with the open milk being left in the heat. There was also no juice of any kind for breakfast only orange squash.
The all inclusive drinks are available only from 10:30 until 23:00 at which point the hotel is plunged into darkness except reception and the only member of staff is the night porter. The drinks seem to be wine, lager, and perm any 2 or 3 from gin, vodka, brandy and whisky and it takes a lot of complaining to persuade them to re-stock on the missing items.
There is a fridge in the room BUT what is the use of a fridge in those temperatures when it goes off as soon as you leave the room along with all the other electrical items.
The cleanliness of the whole complex is poor with rubbish all over the place and our bathroom floor was never clean the whole time we were there. The room maid left us a note on our first day to request we paid the tip directly to her and not leave it in the room as someone else would get it.
The whole hotel seems not to have been maintained at all for a few years with door frames not fitted into the walls properly so that they jammed. Apparently, ours was a good room as it was possible to open the door to the balcony and the balcony itself was not broken.
There was an area behind the hotel that appeared to be the barbeque area but this was just a mass of rubbish.
There were various places where there were uneven paths and a manhole cover in the pool bar area that didn’t fit. These were a constant danger for people to trip over.
A window close to the pool was broken and appeared to have been in that state for some time. I hate to think what would have happened if someone had slipped into it.
The outside light fittings were an absolute disgrace and had only a few of the six lamps working.
There is a notice by the pool saying that no glasses are to be taken into the pool area, BUT the staff behind the pool bar dispensed nearly all drinks in glass vessels even to children. The only drinks normally available in plastic vessels were water and squash.
Any attempt to report problems or complaints was met with a sudden loss of understanding of English by the staff and an air of total indifference by the owner and his son. One person who complained was told by the owner to either shut up or get out.
A party of residents who left the hotel before us left a message on the entrance “
‘Fawlty Towers’ which summed up the general feeling about the hotel. This was quickly cleaned off. There is no way that we would ever return to this hotel and would urge others to avoid it.

We arrived at this hotel at around 8 o clock in the morning. After completing our own registration cards we were taken to our "adjoining rooms" in the hotels lift, which intermittently worked and had no safety barrier. The floors and doors could be touched as you passed them from inside the lift. (We later found out that if the lift stopped you had to jump up and down to get it moving again and frequently had to jump out about a foot down to floor level).
We were shown to our room on the 3rd floor, which had a TV (didn’t work), air conditioning (didn’t work), and a fridge (so manky wouldn’t keep anything in there). The one standard light buzzed as you put it to the electric socket, one light had no bulb and of the two other wall lights, one didn’t work and was hanging from the wall and the other had its shade bent over the arm but at least it worked!
The beds were changed regularly and bathroom was clean although the hairdryer was dodgy and you had to wiggle the wires to make it work, and the lead was so short you had no option but to use it in the actual bathroom.
Our "adjoining room" was on the second floor but at least my two boys had a working TV and air conditioning that worked although it did drip occasionally. They did however have the lights that matched ours.
On around our third day at this hotel, one of the other guests complained that during the night whilst washing some children’s clothes out in the bathroom sink, it fell through, smashing onto the bathroom floor. When a complaint was made to the management, the owner actually said that this person was costing them a lot of money!! The sink was eventually replaced but only thanks to the pushy gold trail rep that would not be messed about by this owner.
Next day the guests in the room next to us complained of exactly the same thing only this time the sink was plastic and bounced! I then checked our sink and realised it was only wedged in place with a piece of 2X2!!!
One of the guests next day around the pool said that they had to put in a complaint as their balcony barrier was not screwed together and wobbled about a foot!
It was around this time that we likened the hotel to fawlty towers...only, if I remember rightly, basil seemed to be the cause of most of those disasters....
The food was ok, if not samey come the end of the two weeks. I believe one of the guests commented that if they saw another potato wedge they would shove it up the chefs bottom!
The staff on the whole were miserable to the extent of being rude. Only one or two made an attempt to smile if you said thanks. Drinks were handed out grudgingly and if their Turkish friends were at the bar, you were ignored until they had all been served first.
This was the only hotel I have ever stayed in that when the all inclusive stopped for drinks at eleven o clock at night, they actually turned the lights out and turned the music off, taking the speakers indoors and hung around waiting for you to finish your drinks and go to bed!
We did manage to outwit the Turkish waiters though by taking a torch with us and purchasing our own bottled drinks to be consumed after closing and got the kids to make a trip to McDonalds for cheeseburgers at around midnight to keep us going.
On the whole the hotel was a complete disaster and if I was honest by the second week the menu for food had been repeated so often no one felt like rice or pasta or egg anymore.
The British spirit prevailed however, and because the hotel was so dire...friends were made and I am sure we will all keep in touch, maybe even all go on holiday again to this lovely town of Marmaris....but NOT this hotel!

We are a group of 20 family and friends who travelled to Marmaris for 1 week’s holiday. Having never heard of Goldtrail before we were a little bit wary, but I must say we cant really complain about them. What fantastic value for money we got (230.00each AI).
We stayed at the Hotel Ayderia; ok the hotel was a little tatty and worn but very clean beds and towels changed daily. Breakfast and snacks were fine lunch and dinner not so fine; the AI drinks in the 2 bars were branded Coke, Pepsi, and Fanta, which you don’t usually get with AI packages. To be honest we never expected the food to be fantastic even before we went, because the price we paid for the whole holiday you can’t expect 5 star for 1 star money, it still worked out better value than the apartment holiday we had in Marmaris last year.
We would go back to this hotel again, the staff were very friendly and helpful they could not do enough for you even carried all our cases up to our rooms and would not take a tip and lets face it every man and his dog wants your money these days. The hotel itself was in a very good position 50 metres to the beachfront or through the garden to the rear and you were on the main drag. We had some very good meals at Natalie’s steakhouse and Dreamboys, which had very good value set evening menus plus entertainment; the choice of restaurants is endless in Marmaris. We are all certainly returning to Marmaris there is something for everyone young and old alike.

This hotel needs a revamp if it is to keep a high rating. We travelled as a family of four adults and one child.
Arriving at the hotel around 3.30 am we had a family room which consisted of 1 dbl bed and 2 singles, no bed for the 2 yr old this was provided 2 days later (and definitely was not up to safety standards, didn’t bother to make any remark to staff because they can only provide the equipment they have).
The only partition between the two sections of the rooms was a long net curtain which when you have a mix of male and female is not adequate. There was a fridge in the room which we thought was a god send. Not so, this fridge never worked for the week we were there despite been "fixed" by the repair man.
Air conditioning in the room leaked over the top of the double bed when used, this also was fixed but never worked correctly.
The shower although it worked had certainly seen better days. Wardrobe space should have been doubled as there was only one wardrobe and 6 small drawers for all of us so a lot of the time we were working out of suitcases.
Food in the hotel was adequate though it did lack imagination and was very repetitive and we were only there a week.
The pool was fine except for the grass matting which was all around the pool to prevent any one slipping, this would pull up and become a hazard when there were strong winds blowing it is in need of a lot of glue and attention.
Drinks were given to everyone in glasses rather than plastic cups this seemed to us as very dangerous, as it also applied to the children and we all know how easily children forget not to run. There were plastic cups available so we think staff should be told (as is the case in most hotels) no glass cups at the poolside.
We can recommend the Turkish bath at this hotel and in particular Nick who made us feel relaxed and pampered. This was the only really good part of this hotel.
We have been to Marmaris before and would recommend Marmaris to everyone but not this hotel judging on our experience.
