This is our second visit to the Sir Anthony Hotel, and will definitely not be our last. Our room was located on the ground floor and was clean and spacious. Fruit and champagne greeted us on our arrival, and various other goodies were left in our room during the week. ... more

This was our 5th visit to the Sir Anthony and we have just booked our 6th. When you read some of the reviews on other sites you would probably get a distorted view of this hotel. It’s the kind of hotel a lady on her own could go to and be wonderfully looked after. The... more

An oasis of calm
We have justv returned from our 5th visit to the Sir Anthony and it is getting better. The hotel has had a change of manager and the improvements can be seen. This hotel has only 72 rooms and most of the guests have been there several times before.the gardens are immaculate and the pool warm and inviting(never more than 6 people in at one time). The food is ok but breakfast menu never varies which can be a little boring. The rooms have recently been decorated and are always very clean with beds changed daily and towels twice a day.The staff are... more
We really loved Sir Anthony
This is the third time we went to Tenerife. The second time we were there we saw Sir Anthony and wanted to stay there during our next stay in Tenerife. This time we stayed for two weeks. We were a little troubled because of recent negative reviews. However in our opinion these reviews are not founded. The five stars of this hotel are absolutely justified. We have stayed in many five star hotels and resorts (St Martin, Aruba, Bonaire, Bora Bora, Tahiti, Petit St Vincent, Mustique etc) so we know what to expect. The service and... more
Mediocre
Stayed at the resort for a week at the beginning of June. Was originally booked into the Marco Antonio in a room overlooking the pool but there is an 'Opera Restaurant' and a show nightly that kept me awake so asked for a quieter room and was moved to the Sir Anthony- supposed to be the deluxe hotel in the resort. Whole resort is very big- 5 hotels in total- and quite daunting when first arriving. No porter help was offered and I had to cart my suitcase across the resort in the heat of the afternoon. Not exactly 5-star service! Rooms are... more
OK.....ish
We had a room on the first floor which had a sea view - unlike those rooms on the ground floor, which are adjacent, literally, to the pool. The hotel has access to the entire Mare Nostrum resort, the centre of which are two enormous pool areas. The Sir Anthony pool is much quieter and much smaller. Spring time was fine for us but I can imagine that small children at peak holiday times running loose could be a problem for some (see other reviews!!). Not five star, by any means, but our room was so big it even had a sunken bath. We did... more
5 star hotel ?
We read the reviews prior to booking and we have an alternative view. The location is fine, ideal for Los Cristianos. However the hotel boasts 5 stars, well, it has a small pool area, a small dining room and a entrance hall that doubles as a bar. It has no other facilities, if you want anything else you have to go to the other 4 star hotels within the complex. The hotel suggest every room has a sea view, well we were on the ground floor and if we had had a long ladder with us we may have seen the sea! As I say the pool is small with a... more
the position and intimate size make this hotel worth the stay
We often stay for a week at a time in Tenerife. We have tried a large number of hotels over the years, but we always come back to the Sir Anthony. The position is perfect for easy access to Los Chritianos and for strolls up the water front towards Playa. It's easy to source great restaurants, within walking distance, or a short taxi ride. The hotel is unique in our experience in this area, for its smallness - 72 rooms in total I think, - which means each guest gets great attention. The hotel is slightly jaded now, and could do with... more
Management response from HotelSirAnthony 14 Jun 2008

Dear Sir, We would like to thank you for your sincere comments on your stay at Sir Anthony Hotel. I contact you because I would like to inform you that we are in this moment undergoing a full refurbishment of the Sir Anthony Hotel. This initiative is to up date the infrastructure, as it is 20 years old and position the hotel between the best 5***** hotels of the islands. This renovation will take place during this year and Sir Anthony Hotel will reopen again end of 2008. For then we will have a hotel that meets the best standards and offers a wide range of additional services, to what it already offered. We will create a complete new look modernizing the rooms with a spacious minimalist line offering all the best commodities that a 5***** hotel can offer but with an added value, it has the best situation and offers a total of 71 rooms… This places Sir Anthony between the best boutique hotels of the island. If you would like to receive further updates on the refurbishment do not hesitate to contact us. Thank you again. Best regards Manger Hotel Sir Anthony

Sir Anthony - nice Hotel
Stayed in a Suite at the Hotel last week. Very impressed with the staff and overall quality of service - as good as anywhere that I have stayed. The Hotel would in truth benefit from a facelift as it looks a little tired, all the same it is spotlessly clean and the facilities are well maintained. Being a realitvely small hotel in a resort of very large ones it feels homely, and benefits from a first class location with all rooms having sea views. more
True 5*
Having been to many "alleged" 5* hotels, Sir Anthony really does show you how it should be done. Service and experience cannot be faulted. All rooms/balconies face the sea so no wories about a sea view.
Tired Hotel in need of decoration
Okay service, we had a plunge pool room which was a waste of money as my wife would not get into because it was so old. public area's are very tired also.
Rest and Relaxation at the Sir Anthony
Trailing through the minefield of brochures on Tenerife is fraught with difficulties. I'm happy to stay that having picked the Sir Anthony Hotel, that's where all our difficulties ended.Set facing the beach, the hotel is part of the Mare Nostrum Resort, and is the "pearl" of the resort. The hotel is fairly quiet, suitable for couples, or those with a young family. The hotel is set apart from the rest of the resort in that the pool is private from the other hotels - a massive bonus. You are also free to use any of the other hotels' facilities... more
