First impression of the hotel look...

First impression of the hotel look wise was good but our greeting on arrival set the tone of the holiday it turned out. The lady on the desk turned out to be the girl who the hotel is named after. Not at all friendly and i would suggest she attends some sort of intensive training course in customer service or hospitality as she is lacking it somewhat! There is no friendly atmosphere, it certainly appeared to us that all the hotel was interested in was making money. No effort at all to make us feel welcome or want to return to stop again at the hotel. Despite the steep hill which in the heat of the afternoon is unbearable,we spent all the time we could away from the hotel. Returning to our room on one occasion we noticed we had not been provided clean towels, on reporting this to the reception we were told "perhaps they will come tomorrow" it took several minutes to persuade them to issue us some. Another evening upon returning to the hotel, whilst being given our key we were asked for 4 euro's which they claimed we owed them for drinks, when in fact we paid them 3/4 days prior! The air-conditioning unit in the room is only operational upon you paying up-front 4 euro per day! Upon checking out when we asked for our passports back she didn't even know they had them when it was she that took them from us when we checked in! We wouldn't stop here ever again, we were and are used to greek hospitality. Very poor......

We have had a great stay in Dassia, Hotel Eliana. The hotel was clean and looked much better than on the pictures.....
We spent a lot of our time at "club" Malibu near the beach, hired a scooter for three days and discovered the island. Following the hotspots marked by the friendly hotel staff.
The way along the beach to Roda is beautiful and so are the west and the east coast. We enjoyed the conversations with our night post Costas every time we returned to the hotel. He was full of historical stories an very helpfull
Say hi to him when you meet him.

Nice hotel! Breakfast could be a bit more diverse. Pool is very nice, too bad the 'pool party's' don't work out.
Despite her lovely looks the manager herself 'Eliana' could take on a little less grumpy face, but other than that the staff were extremely friendly. Especially the night guard, Constantine - "like in the movie" - was always in for a good late, but interesting and entertaining conversation! It was always a delight coming back from the mediocre Dassia nightlife. The guard at night gives you a safe feeling and I bet he recognizes everyone coming in, preparing your key before even entering the building!

We liked the hotel. It was clean and the rooms were tidy, a bit small, but clean. The balcony was a nice size. We had an inland view.
The hotel is situated at the top of a steep hill, which is not good for the infirm or overweight! It did mean that you were away from the noise though. We walked into Ipsos, which was about 1 mile away and is a bit livelier than Dassia. We went to the Range bar most nights, which has dance floor and sells cheap cocktails.
Dassia was a bit dirty too, with rubbish in the streets. The beach is shingle. I would not recommend this over places like Cyprus or Rhodes, but it was ok.

Feb 2006, Miss C Slinger

Stayed at the Eliana for one week early June 2005. The hotel had a lovely entrance with a nice bar/lounge area.
The grounds of the hotel were well kept and the pool area was very clean. The pool bar wasn't open but this was probably because the season hadn't started. The hotel is up a short steep hill from the main resort but it's worth it as the views are fantastic and it's lovely and quiet away from the main road. Our room was typically Greek - extremely basic but it was clean.
Our only real complaint was that the reception was very smoky (mainly from the staff, but that's Greeks for you) and the walls of our room were paper thin. Our room was at the top of the first flight of stairs and you could hear guests very clearly in the bar area even though they weren't being particularly rowdy. Having said that the one incident of rowdy behaviour in the corridor one night was quickly addressed by hotel staff.
Dassia itself was quite small and extremely quiet. There were lots of nice bars on the beach front but when we were there, there wasn't one person in them - they lacked atmosphere to say the least.
The restaurants on the main road were OK but you need to go to Yannis - from the main road carry on past the Eliana to the end of the road then turn right then left (I think! Some of the signposts seem to have been sabotaged.) It's worth it if you manage to find it. It's a very small typical Greek restaurant and has a balcony with great views towards Albania. Very romantic setting and we had a lovely meal.
We also went to Corfu town and Kalami - both very beautiful.
Overall we would recommend the hotel but would not stay at Dassia again.

Hotel Eliana is a fabulous hotel. The staff are all very welcoming, the night porter is extremely friendly and all staff are on hand to give advice and recommend the best places to visit.
The hotel has very good high standards of hygiene, and all rooms are furnished beautifully. The hotel is about 4 minutes walk from the town. Dassia has a stunning beach, which offers watersports and entertainment for all ages.
