We went in March 2011 for five nights, we were moved four times as the advertised sound proofing is a lie. If you wish to sleep go to another hotel. The food was served on cold plates and it is no way a four star hotel. The manager J V Gracia will not hear a bad thing said... more

Great holiday
from JB12001
My son (16) and daughter and son-in-law (early 20s) and myself (early 60s!) stayed for week commencing 22 October 2006 as part of a Thomas Cook package - half board. We found the quality of service at this hotel to be very good. Staff were attentive, many spoke good English, particularly at Reception. Room facilities were as claimed in their web-site, and everything worked OK, including air-con. Room servicing was excellent - even tidying up my son's typical teenage mess daily. The poolside was OK, no problems with availability of recliners/sun-shades etc. - and not too many people using the 'towel on the recliner' method of advance booking. There appeared to be few other English guests, a wide range of nationalities - mainly Spanish. The restaurant was very efficient - opened on time, good staff, wide choices both at breakfast and evening meal. None of us suffered any 'travellers' tummy' - so that tells its own tale. Entertainment was per programme - quite muted - probably in line with the general age profile of the guests. A very engaging and energetic young lady worked hard all day, from pool aerobics, rifle shooting and archery, in the morning through to hosting the varied evening entertainment.at 11.00 p.m. Weather was varied - temperature never much below 25/26 celsius, mainly sunny. Rain on two days, and so windy on one day that even the substantial poolside sunshades were blown out of their sockets. We weren't that bothered - the bar was open! This hotel suited us and our requirements for a relaxing time, but probably wouldn't be entirely suitable for teenage nightclubbers, who would be better served closer to town centre
What a treat - fantastic.

My wife and I stayed here recently by chance as we were booked in the Sol Tenerife and when we arrived there was the usual problem of overbooking and we were moved to the Hesperia Troya Park. We reckon we got a stroke of luck as it was fantastic. We were given a good sized room, large enough to party, and overlooking the beach and resort. Yes the resort is lively but the room was virtually soundproof and this was a bonus. The staff were efficient and pretty polite and the hotel was immaculately clean, with good outdoor areas with large pools & bars. Did not eat in the restaurant with the exception of breakfast which although being similar to a noisy market with all the locals screaming at each other was plentiful and good quality. The location was 1st class with the beach and resort bars 'on your doorstep' and for the energetic walker both Los Cristianos and Torviscas less than an hour slow stroll away. The hotel is ideal for couples & families alike.

this was the worst hotel i have every stayed at. i have been traveling all arround europe for the past 3 months and this was the worst hotel for service that i have stayed in so far. the rooms were nice, it is close to an ok beach, and the food is decent. beside that its awful! the staff was rude and unhelpful, there were cockroaches in the rooms, i called about a noise complaint and the staff told me it wasnt possible and hung up, the cleaning staff never changed the towels, or the dirty glasses, and on top of the horrible service a staff member went into my room and stole $3000 worth of electronics form inside my suitcase. the hotel electronically keeps track of who enters your room and after obtaining a list there were an array of random people entering my room that werent cleaning people. the management was awful and wasnt helpful at all, didnt comp anything, and they even tried to charge me for the phone calls that i made to the police to report the crime. dont stay here if you want to keep your stuff.
Low down on the Troya Park Hotel
from chatting
I have just come back from a week's stay at the Troya Park Hotel. I would say that it does not qualify for its four star rating and is more of a three star plus. It is a very clean hotel but could do with some modernising as the furnishings and rooms are looking slightly in need of refurbishment. At the start of my stay I thought the food was excellent, but towards the end it was less so. There was plenty of choice but there were no hot plates and you had to warm your plates in a microwave if you wanted a hot plate. Also the food could sometimes be cold. The staff were lovely and the hotel itself was very clean. There are a lot of Italians, French and Belgan people staying there so the hotel had a cosmopolitian feel about it.
don't go here if you're british
from A TripAdvisor Member
Visited jan 06 for one week. Hotel clean, good location, close to beach. Room ok but wasn't on pool side of hotel. Didn't have a fridge, were expected to use epensive vending machines on each floor. Very few British people, predominently German and Italian. Felt a bit like an outsider, staff were more friendly to the Germans and Italians. Dining room opening hours were good, catered for the early birds as well as those who liked a lie in. But the food was not up to the standard expected in a 4 star hotel. Food not very appetising or well prepared (not very healthy at all). Quite a bit of processed food, hot dog sausages and cocktail hot dog sausages appeared every day for breakfast and dinner. Hardly any fresh veg, broccoli and sprouts appeared once and were an overcooked mush. Not much menu variation from day to day. Evening entertainment was poor, when it ended at about 11 o'clock everyone headed on mass for the lifts. The lights were switched off and the bar staff started to close up the bar. You weren't encouraged to carry on drinking. Will not be returning to this hotel, would not recommend this hotel if you are British.
Generally an excellent hotel
from A TripAdvisor Member
Almost perfect. When we arrived everything seemed too good to be true. Everywhere was spotlessly clean. We had a room with a sea view, as well as overlooking the large pool where there were enough sunbeds for everyone. Evening entertainment usually consisted of a talented keyboard player or singers, followed by a great proffesional show. Meals were generally of a good variety, unfortunately too much of the (hot) food was served cold, and because the plates were never reheated, the hot food soon went cold. The british were a minority, and only seemed to get served with drinks in the evening when the Spanish and Germans weren`t waiting. I would like to return to this hotel, but the food situation would have to change first.
Absolutely fantastic!! Extremely recommended.

We went to the hotel for a week in March, my birhtday. The staff were incredibly friendly and courteous. On my birthday a card arrived from the Manager wishing me well and inviting us to a gratis bottle of wine. A small touch, but hugely appreciated. The rooms were good and kept clean. The dining was super, no really, for a buffet it was one of the best I've seen. A vast range of food and it just kept being cooked. Normally in front by the chefs, they kept going right up to finishing time. The hotel is situated literally across the road from the beach! You can turn left and walk to Americanos and Cristianos or turn right and walk through Puerto Colon and Adeje. Restaurants are all around the hotel and some good shops. The area was slightly nicer than Americas and Cristianos, I would really recommend it for couples and families as the ammenities at the hotel were superb.
Fantastic

On The Seafront, great facilities, large swimming pool, entertainment (caberat) every night, good food. Ecvery room with a sea view.
Fantastic Standard
from giantpig
We stayed at this hotel in February 2004. The hotel itself is fantastic, very high standards, very clean, daily maid service etc. The downside is that it is more or less opposite veronicas strip (lots of bars etc), and although quiet when we went, would be noisy in high season. Also, we were only part of a handful of British people at the hotel, it is predominatly German. It is directly opposite the beach, and in the middle of many bars, shops and restaurants. If you are going to this hotel, try and get room 717, it is the top floor (7 floors) and has a huge balcony, with great sea and pool views, with 3 sunloungers on. This was our room, and is one of the best they have.
