The hotel although small is great for school trips and is perfectly located as it only takes a matter of seconds to get to the ski lifts. One problem with the hotel was the size of the lift as it was quite small and we were unable to fit all of our bags in, I was on of the lucky ones and got my bag in first also the stairs were very steep and the hotel was tall other than that the whole stay was perfect and i'm looking to go again.

Just returned from a week in Les Rois mages Hotel. The staff in the Hotel were all very pleasant and helpful, however the hotel is definately in need of some maintenance work and modernisation. Everything in the hotel is looking very old and tired. Our room was of decent size with twin beds and 2 bunk beds. There was plenty of storage space although some of the drawers needed repairing. The bathroom had a bath, which was badly stained but there was always lots of hot water. Although there was a bidet in the bathroom there were not taps on it. Only one electric plug in the bedroom. Bedding was clean and towels were changed through the week. There was quite a lot of noise from outside from delivery vans early in the morning and bins being emptied, also noise from people talking and shouting in the street below. We did use earplugs when we went to bed. The games, entertainment room below was not open so the only place to sit was in the bar, which was very nice and lively, with plenty of atmosphere, although the choice of music and volume of it was certainly not to our liking, we did ask for the volume to be turned down and the bar staff did so on several occasions. Breakfasts were very good with ham, cheese, quoissants, boiled eggs or porridge and on the day of departure a good breakfast was laid out for us at 3.15am. Some of the evening meals were quite basic, and lacked imagination, we did not find the portions quite large enough after a days skiing, especially for the men. The location of the hotel is superb, straight out onto the slopes in the morning, in all we got the holiday at a reduced rate so were not disappointed but if I had paid full price I would have expected a bit more. However, well done to the staff they all had smiley faces and appeared to work very hard.

just returned from a weeks skiing in france and stayed at les rois mages. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and the rooms although basic, were clean. We were on a half board basis and almost every meal was very nice.I liked the fact that when we arrived-even though it was 10 oclock at night they had a buffet waiting for us.The location was perfect,no busses to lifts, just a stroll accross the road straight on to the piste. My only complaint was the early noise from the deliveries to the supermarket outside our room. 6 oclock every morning and they were not quiet about it!! other than that would definately return to this resort and this hotel.

Many thanks to everyone at the Rois Mages for making our 2009 Christmas so wonderful.
I was so happy to be welcomed by Stewart and Sarah on our arrival (Dec 19rd 2009), both of them smiling and pleased to see us!; as I'd looked for reviews on the Les Rois Mages Hotel on the internet before departure!!(I did it after I had booked and paid!!) And had been worried by finding one or two reviews that were not so positive ! !
BUT ... these ‘OLD’ REVIEWS ARE SO OUT OF DATE!! As:
* The food was wonderful (including Christmas dinner)
* The GA's! (Waiting staff) were helpful and attentive. * The Bar manager was everything you could hope for in a host! Great with both the clients and the staff in every way.
* The Reps were running around all the time, busy attending to guests needs.
* The Aussi ski tech was in fact a great 'Tech' and good with the children, he spent as much time as needed with each and everyone to make sure everything fitted.
* The assistant managers took their roles seriously with enthusiasm and commitment.
* The chef made herself accessible at all times and provided well thought out good, hot and Yummy meals.
* The Hotel was managed by Sarah, .. Just perfect!
* Maintenance 'Rob' Top Guy, always smiling.
This is our first Package trip ! ... Loved it.
From Montgenevre we drove to a five star Hotel in Arosa Switzerland 'Sunstar Park' £lots per night HB! That was our normal hotel, but never again! They couldn’t touch the Rois Mages for the warm feeling that it gave us! We checked out of the Sunstar on the second morning and headed home, saving our money for the next trip to Montgenevre !
We've booked again with Rocket Ski (Andria) for the 27th Feb 2010
NB , The Hotel is tired and could with some investment but it’s outweighed by the wonderful staff and outstanding Riding/ skiing

we stopped over christmas 09 and had a great week .lots of snow for a start . the hotel is abit tired looking but it was clean , the rooms were ok 2 singles and a bunk , our girls fought over nightly as too who slept on the top . food was good continental style breakfast and evening meal served at 7.30 in evening . as we had young girls with us we could opt to eat earlier as long as we let reception know in the morning and this was served at 6pm.
location wise was excellent as opposite lifts and ski school we booked lessons for the girls with apeak ski school . they were fantastic and both girls want to go back next year.staff were really friendly and helpful

i went to les rois mages with my school and was very dissapointed with the accommodation.
we arrived around mid day and were allowed to our rooms within an hour, we thought that an hours wait was very reasonable. however when we got into our rooms to our horror we found our rooms barely cleaned, there was crumbs all over the bathroom floor, dirty linen, chewing gum down side of the beds and stains on the wall and this was in only one of the 12 rooms. the rest of the rooms had many different problems ranging from blood on the walls to mould growing in the rooms.
frequent times we noticed the food delivered was out of date, and many dinners were barely edible!
to top this off there was not one friendly member of staff throughout our stay. manager in particular was extremely rude and lazy.
worst place i have ever stayed.
wouldnt wish this on my worse enemy.

I went with school this year and i loved it! The food was very good we had breakfast lunch and dinner. It was very easy to get to the slopes as the chairlifts and the ski school were right across the road. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Unfortunatley the only downer was that the only plug in our room wasn't working we reported it a number of times but at the end of the week it wasnt fixed so we had to use the plug socket outside of our room. I would recemomend this to my friends next year if they would like to go skiing. Thankyou for a very nice time!

  • Advice: That it is a very nice place to ski with lots of friendly people
  • Activities: Well we only went skiing fro 4 hours of the day and didnt go out much but the views were beautiful

The hotel is in an excellent location, right opposite lifts and ski school. Rooms are rather basic with bunk beds and/or single beds of same size. Separate toilet and bathroom in room. Plenty of hot water but shower head loose and tended to aim itself at wall. Food good with choice of starter, sometimes choice of main and always a vegetarian option. House wine 10 Euro a bottle. English manager and staff were friendly and helpful. Hotel bar has English TV and table football.
When I stayed there, the hotel was mostly occupied by two English school groups who were rather noisy at times.
For free Wi-Fi, go up the road to Le Graal bar.

I was part of a group of 10 (including 2 children under 13) and we all had a fantastic time. The hotel was clean, the food was good and the staff were very helpful, relaxed and friendly.
The hotel bar/cafe is fairly quiet in the evening but if we were in the mood for somewhere a bit lively, Le Graal is only a couple of mins walk up the road.
The location of the hotel is perfect. Just cross the road, put on your skis and get on the lift. Ski school is also very close by. We were lucky to get fantastic conditions which enabled the five beginners in our group to learn to ski quickly.
Four of our party had to head home a day early due to a family matter and Equity did everything they could to make this as easy and trouble free as possible.
All in all, we had a great time with Equity. So much so that we've booked to return to Montgenevre with them next week!

DON'T go there!! Flying into Turin...

Jan 2006, Mrs P Crampton

DON'T go there!!
Flying into Turin with First Choice was, as usual, a nightmare with poor check in and delays.
This was our fourth and last time with Equity Ski. For the first two days of our holiday we had no curtain for the French windows by the bed!! When we did get one it was a very small one held up with string to protect our modesty!
The hotel was dreadfully run and managed. We actually felt sorry for the young staff until we were woken by one of the girls and two boys running screaming through the village at 4.30am! The young staff looked permanently hung over and even the rep reeked of drink in the mornings. They hadn't been taught the first things about cleaning rooms or waiting tables. Most evenings some of our party had finished while others on the same table were waiting to be served. Almost every meal was cold. The man who appeared in charge was very rude to three members of our party on separate occasions when we were simply trying to clarify confusions, of which there were more than enough.
The area manager at least listened politely to us and tried to help but this hotel seemed to have been provided for one giant staff jolly and not the paying guests. Our group holiday cost over £12,000 and was not value for money.
On the positive side the hotel was warm with comfortable new beds and clean linen. The village, scenery and skiing were all great.
To round out holiday off in style we were delayed over two hours flying home and a suitcase was ruined but we were unable to claim as it was torn!

The hotel was outstanding! It was a ski trip holiday and the hotel entrance was less than 20 ft away from the slopes! The hotel had balcony on all the front facing rooms which provided an amazing view of the rich French mountains, the food in the hotel was a large variety with different options every day, if you did not want to eat in the hotel you could easily and cheaply eat elsewhere, surrounding the hotel is a beautiful village with gift shops, small general shops and the best pizza in the world! The facilities in the hotel were fantastic each room had its own toilet, bath and shower and a maximum of five beds per room. Staff were excellent always asking if everything was ok, cleaners would come in every day twice and make your beds, Hoover, empty bins etc.
The staff were very friendly and spoke clear English to all.
As far as we were aware there were no buses running in a 2 mile radius but this was not a major problem as all shops and restaurants were extremely easily accessed in less than 5 minutes.
