I have just returned from a family holiday (myself, my husband, mother, father and 2yr old son) at the Noelia Sur. We changed rooms 3 times before ending up with a decent view, but the hotel staff were most accommodating.
My main concern with the hotel was the fact it was dangerous for children. A seating area in the reception had a sheer drop to the lower floor from the back of the seats. The balconies had a raised step at child height to stand on and I was constantly worried that my son would figure this out and topple straight over. As usual the flooring around the pool area was lethal and I don’t understand why these hotels seem to pay so much attention in some areas, then none in others (particularly where safety is concerned).
I was also disappointed in the star rating (which I can only image was so high due to the fantastic views from the roof terraces). In my mind 4 stars is at the top end of luxury, and I didn’t feel anything was luxurious in the hotel. The paint work (in each of our rooms) was shabby and tiles were chipped and wobbly. You also had to pay to use (the world’s smallest) fridge in the room which isn’t what you’d expect if you had paid the top rate for the room.
The food in the restaurant started off okay at the beginning of the week, I was amazed by the volume. However by the end of the week the novelty was wearing off and you were hoping for something exciting. It was food, nothing more.
The staff all worked really hard and were very pleasant, which in all my years of travelling, I have never experienced, particularly Roberto in the restaurant (who looks like the 'Cat' from Red Dwarf).
Overall it was a decent enough hotel and would be a very good 2/3 star, but a second rate 4 star!

While everyone is entitled to their opinion it should be objective and the previous lady with the 2 year old son should give herself a reality check. (It would also make sense to note that October 2005 has NOT ARRIVED YET!)
My wife and I have already stayed at this Hotel 3 times and are booked to return in August 2005, this year!
(Incidentally we have holidayed extensively in USA and the Far East where standards ARE high)
We are both parents, and very observant, and if there is an area of danger to be found you can always be sure that a 2 year old will find it however I did note that the previous comments made no mention of reporting this "dangerous area" to the Hotel and what action was taken as a result! That would perhaps have been a more adult response.
To rate the Hotel a 2 or 3 star is a joke. The Hotel is a diamond and the location, staff, cleanliness, general housekeeping are FIRST CLASS.
Please do NOT be put off with biased and unhelpful info re the Noelia Sur as you will be doing yourself a dis-service. Have a look on the web and you will find 99% people have been delighted with their trip.
Leave Blackpool and Bognor Regis to the people who deserve real 2 / 3 star service and standards!

The rooms in the hotel are very spacious and bright and come with Air Conditioning, satellite TV, Mini Bar, Hair Dryer and spacious balcony. It has a very attractive dining area offering daily different thematic buffets as well as a choice of different menus and a daily carvery. The staff are friendly and go out of their way to help and assist you. Entertainment is different every night and a Mini Club for the kids. It has two pools and a large supply of sun beds, for the adventurous, there is a Naturist section on the roof terrace with a small pool for cooling off. The hotel is situated in the centre of Playa de las Americas, a few minutes stroll from the beach and ten minutes walk from the many bars restaurants and clubs. There is an array of first class restaurants ranging from British, Chinese, Indian, French to Lebanese, you will be spoilt for choice. You can get around the island by using the bus service which is quite frequent and inexpensive to visit the local markets, which are quite good for bargains, there is also a large one in Playa de las Americas.
In a nutshell this holiday area has everything you might need, it is the 'Bees Knees'

Went to Noelia as mother in-law been 7 times. This hotel is not 4star if you wont a 4 star room you had to pay e.g. pool view. We were in a very dark room looking at a wall . Food what can I say very poor staff not nice or happy.
We have been to Tenerife 5 times I love Los Christianos. However if you are looking for 4 star do not go to this hotel over priced for what you get have had nicer 2 star self catering. If looking for a good 4 star hotel try the Bahia in Costa Adeje a little out of way but hotel runs bus into Play De Las Americas.
