My wife and I went to the Noelia Sur...
10 / 10
May 2007, Mr W Lawson

My wife and I went to the Noelia Sur in November for our 2nd wedding anniversary. We booked in and we were offered sparkling wine or orange juice. They were polite and the hotel looked very nice; there were flowers in the reception and they gave out a lovely aroma.
Our room was on the top floor, and reading the other reviews... I’m sure one couple had stayed in the same room as us. It had the air condition unit or some kind of generator housed above the room, this kicked in early morning till late night and gave a boom boom noise all day.
We complained and were moved with no hassle, we were given a bottle of red wine for the inconvenience. The rooms were clean and tidy and were very nice, one thing...make sure you put something in the way of the balcony doors... because if they close and your all outside... your buggered... we had to get someone to break in to our room to let us out as you cant open the doors from the outside.. Red faced or what!!
The food was great and there was such a variety. Breakfast was strange as they seem to think we like chips in the morning... but it was ok.
There was good entertainment at night; there was an ABBA band, and a snake charmer... which was really good.
As we went in November there was not a problem getting a sunbed, the pool was pretty cold due to the time of the year, but it’s very deep. It took me all my time to get to the bottom... not for the kiddies, there are no kids pool so if you do let them swim... take care. There are two pools on the roof but they are small but fun to play about in.
As for the rest of the resort, be careful of the time share hoods... they wont take no for an answer. Be strong. !!
Not the cleanest of resorts but not the worst. I am sure you will have a great time... a bit of winter sun is a great thing and we are doing it again... this year... I love this hotel... It’s so nice... I will let you know what this year looks like.

May 2007, Mrs H Flint

My husband and I chose Noelia Sur in Tenerife for our Honeymoon.
Obviously we were very anxious as booked it directly with hotel through Medhotels, but I can honestly say this hotel is fabulous.
As we arrived we were impressed to see the spacious clean lobby with marble floors, waterfalls and greenery.
The staff were very helpful and nice to us. Making us feel special on our honeymoon we had a champagne and fruit basket on arrival in our room which was pool facing, I think these rooms are the best as the front of the hotel is straight onto a road.
The maids were great and supplied clean towels every day.
As for the food, there is plenty of choice so you are bound to find something you like.
The main pool area is the perfect size and lucky for us did not get that busy in May.
During our stay I visited the hotel hairdressers which was reasonably priced and a nice treat. There is a shop, gym and nightclub! but don’t worry it’s not open for long and doesn’t get very busy.
Whilst there you must try at least one cocktail as they are delicious and beautifully decorated.
The hotel itself is in a great location quite close to two beaches, shops and bars.
One thing I would say, as with all resorts, be very wary of locals when it comes to ripping you off! Be careful at cash points and check the card slots to make sure there is nothing inside to take your card, as some of them are fixed.
I definitely recommend this hotel!

Good location. Quiet location but not too far from everything. Rooms excellent, clean. Food excellent, huge choice. Staff very good, although reception staff not always as helpful as they could be.
Javier most helpful. The manager came to see us on our second day to see if we required anything. Some extra pillows requested and delivered immediately. My only complaint would be billing for extras (drinks etc) reasonably priced but hang on to your receipts as there are quite a few mix ups on the computer system. Would recommend and will go back again.

Nov 2006, Miss C Charnock

My mum and I have just arrived back from the Noelia Sur we had a lovely 10 day break in Tenerife. The hotel was lovely we got out the taxi and looked at the hotel all lit up it looked really nice.
We checked in straight away with no hassle, the reception staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was on the ground floor with not much of a view but it was only a base we were hardly ever in it!
We were very impressed with the food it was so good with an excellent choice every evening, the restaurant was very nice and so were all the staff they were very polite and always happy to help.
There was always evening entertainment at the outside pool bar area and it was quite good to watch, especially the ABBA Tribute Band they were excellent!
We have decided to go back to the hotel next year because it was so impressive, all the staff work extremely hard and make you feel welcome, and they make excellent cocktails at the bar as well!

My Husband and I have just returned...
9 / 10
May 2006, Mrs A O'Hara

My Husband and I have just returned from a wonderful week at the Noelia Sur. Having read some on the reports I was a bit anxious but I need not have been. We were treated very well from the minute we arrived. We were given a beautiful room on the fifth floor in the centre overlooking everything.
However the air conditioning unit was directly above our room and resulted in a boom all the time and worse from 8am to 11.00pm. I explained at reception the next morning and we were given a different room within 10mins. Later in the day a bottle of Champagne was delivered to our room for the trouble of moving rooms.
The staff were brilliant in the dining room and the ladies on housekeeping are to be praised highly for their attention to detail every morning when cleaning the room and replacing the towels. The food was excellent and the pool area was great although we were told on arrival that if we reserved sun beds with our towels the staff would take the towels off. We of course kept to the rule but the majority of people didn’t and nothing was done about it. One word of warning, the pool is very, very deep so be careful. I would recommend this hotel to everyone.
We had a late night flight so we paid €30 extra to keep our room until 7.00pm on the day of departure (because the check out time is 12 noon) and this is well worth it as you have a place to relax for the day instead of walking around trying to pass the time. We then used the luggage room until the bus picked us up at 10.00pm.
All in all this hotel is great and we will go back again. Thank you Noelia Sur.

Feb 2006, Mr D Montgomery

I have read with interest the sharply diverging views of this hotel below. I have to say though that I firmly come down on the side of those who thought it excellent.
My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our week-long stay here. The rooms were large and of a very good standard. The food was impressive for its quality, choice and the fact that there was always more than adequate available.
The staff (reception, restaurant and cleaning particularly) were very friendly and the managers took a real interest in their guests. The Hotel was in a nice location, within easy walking distance to the beach at Los Christianos. The shops were also within easy walking distance. Reasonable restaurants were close by.
Watch though for the balcony door, which can't be opened from the outside if you inadvertently close it. All in all, a very good hotel, and we'll go back. Hard to understand the adverse comments...

Had a wonderful holiday during the mid-term break from school. I travelled with my two children.
They enjoyed the hotel activities and swimming pool. The rooms were excellent. The food was more than adequate. The staff were very friendly. The Hotel was in a nice location , within easy walking distance to the beach at Los Christianos. The shops were also within easy walking distance.
The children also loved the Aqua park nearby where we spent a full day and travelled there by a free coach.
I would not hesitate to return to this Hotel again soon.

Nov 2005, Miss O'Boyle

It was the best holiday for a long time. Everything went smoothly from the start.
The hotel was exceptional, very friendly and help staff.
They were always willing to go the extra mile. It was stunning surprise when they put a bowl of fruit and a bottle of champagne in our room for my partners birthday, without us asking or hinting, even though they normally charge for this service. The food was plentiful and to a high quality. The area was full of nice bars, restaurants, and friendly people, who were always coming out with ideas and helpful suggestions before you even thought to ask.
In summary made my holiday a special one, and to top it all I got engaged out there, think it had to do with the exceptional time and holiday they showed us.

The bedrooms are 2-3 star ,the reception desk staff were extremely rude and begrudged giving back our deposit for the safe, the reception area whilst looked nice smelled of stagnant water all the time (very off putting).
The food was excellent and the restaurant well equipped, overall the hotel is in a good location but is not deserving of a 4 star rating.

Jul 2005, Miss M Samwell

Was impressed by the outside of the hotel on arrival, but that was as far as it went.
The smell that hit as we walked into the Lobby lingered for the whole two weeks we were there.
Having stayed in other 4 star hotels in the Canaries I can honestly say that this hotel has never seen 4 Stars.
The 'wacky races' for the sunbeds had us in hysterics every morning but the laughing soon stopped when we realised that everyone was putting towels on the beds then going off for the day.
The patio doors in the rooms had to be closed for the air conditioning to work (and the air con was needed last week due to the exceptionally high temperatures) which had several of our party trapped on balconies for some time as the doors could not be opened from the outside (not me though - I’m not that daft !!!)
The use of a generator on the roof caused black smoke to bellow down to the pool area and make a noise like that of a helicopter hovering overhead.
When speaking to reception I felt that instead of trying to help with my concerns, I just got attitude and excuses.
No more Noelia Sur for me - I will stick with the old faithful - the Riu chain, where I know I will be pampered and treated to a wonderful holiday

Just got back from the Noelia Sur...
10 / 10
Jul 2005, Miss N Yates

Just got back from the Noelia Sur yesterday, my first trip alone without the parents. 8 of us looking for a good time after finishing 6th form. Everything about this hotel was fantastic. When we first pulled up we were amazed we got what we saw for such a cheap price (170 pounds per person for a week b and b). Marble flooring and everything. Waterfall by reception, huge pool, rooftop terrace with 2 quieter pools. It even had its own beach sunbathing area with sand which was nice considering there is not really any nice beach around the hotel (though we found one not far after asking reception). The staff were the friendliest and helpfulness I have ever seen, they would go out of their way to help us, told us where to go for the best food and beaches, and rang taxis for us. The rooms were very large and have good air conditioning although you do have to pay 14 euros for the fridge and 14 euros for the safe for one week. Maid service was top rate, they would always come back if we were in bed when they first came round, and changed towels every day. They always said hello to you to.
Some people on here have moaned about the food....we only had breakfast but I have never seen such choice before, they had everything imaginable, including a chef which would cook an molest of your choice on request. Always plenty to eat even at quarter to 10 just before it ended.
pool was cleanest I’ve seen, not a spec of dirt in there, although very deep for children, ideal for swimming and large.
Entertainment we didn’t really check out but looked good from the lists.
Location was ideal, close to the beaches, shops, bars and restaurants but far enough to not be noisy. (about 10 mins walk from veronicas or beaches).
Nice views of mount Tiede from balcony.
To top it off the reception rang us to check everything was ok with our room about an hour after check in which was very good.
Could not fault the hotel, deserves its 4* rating totally and anyone who says it is shabby or otherwise clearly needs an eye test. And to the lady who said it was unsafe, I in no way agree with any of those comments, the pool was not slippy at all, there was no room to even run because of sunbeds! The balcony is completely safe as it has guardrails way too high for even me to fall over even if I did get on those steps.

This was a lovely hotel, it is...
9 / 10
Apr 2005, Miss S Turner

This was a lovely hotel, it is presented in art-deco style and modern. Our room was fairly spacious and immaculately clean with a balcony overlooking the pool.
We were very impressed with the food, it was buffet style and there was lots of choice every day, from meat, fish, vegetarian dishes, everything you could think of except not much 'fast food' e.g. burgers and chips but as long as this is not all you like you will enjoy it! There was also lots of choice for the desserts and at breakfast.
The reception staff were friendly, you have to choose which dinner sitting you prefer on your first day and stick to it for the duration of your holiday- either 6.30 or 8.30.
The hotel is about a 10 minute walk to the beach and there is a good Netto supermarket across the road.
The swimming pool was nice but the sunbeds did get all taken if you weren’t down there by mid-morning.
So I would recommend this hotel and return there.
