I read some of the previous reviews...

Jan 2008, Mr Mike Wythe

I read some of the previous reviews of this B&B and thought it sounds really good - but could it really be this good? Well, what a wonderful surprise - It is a lovely place to stay and chill.
The family adopt you on arrival and you are spoilt rotten throughout your stay. You can't help but be impressed by the enormous amount of quality work that has gone into making this a remarkable place to stay. The pool complex is great, the accommodation is sumptuous and the food is plentiful and delicious. Best of all is the genuine warmth that you receive from the owners - really nice folk.

What a wonderful hideaway B&B in...

Oct 2006, Mr Peter Gerstle

What a wonderful hideaway B&B in glorious Welsh countryside! Sian and Allan are impeccable hosts and the converted farm make you want to drop it all and move there permanently! Close enough to the end of the M4, yet miles away from anything that might disturb your sleep or impede your appetite for a full Welsh breakfast.
Go there!

I wanted to take my husband and son...
10 / 10
Sep 2006, Claire1404

I wanted to take my husband and son to Wales to meet all of my Welsh relations, as we have been married for 2 years and none of them had met either of the two most important people in my life. Having spent many school holidays visiting Ammanford - the town where my family live - I knew that there were definitely some places I didn’t want to stay. Having not been to Ammanford for several years I decided to do some research on the internet to see if it could offer me some nice alternatives. I wanted something fairly close by and if possible for it to have a swimming pool to keep my 17mth son entertained. I spent hours looking at hotel chains and little B&B's that weren’t even that close, and then eventually found Castell Y Graig. Their website looked lovely. It had only a small number of rooms - this looked very appealing - and best of all an indoor pool. I called the number and had a lovely chat with Sian James - one of the owners. She made me feel welcome before I had even arrived. Better still it was in a village called Pentregwenlais which was only 2 minutes away from Ammanford.
I put the details into my sat nav and off we set. It took 3.5hrs to get there and when we got lost they just sent their son out to come and find us! On arrival the farm just looked beautiful. We were greeted by both Allan and Sian and were instantly welcomed into the family. Our son Jack was very taken by Allan who promptly got out a bag of toys - secretly I know that Allan was dying to play with them and that Jack was just a good excuse :). We were taken to our beautiful family room. The bed was huge and had a lovely view from the window. A door led us through to the 'kids' room and then onto the bathroom.
We were given a grand tour and shown all the other bedrooms - I think there are 5 in total. Each one is decorated in a different style but just as beautiful as the next. Downstairs was just a lovely. A huge family kitchen - one that I am very jealous of - sitting room, dining area, relaxation room and finally the pool room, complete with Jacuzzi.
The next morning Jack was whisked off to go and feed the farm animals with Allan. Patsy the pig, the chickens, the horse and best of all, the puppies.
Sian and Allan have loads of plans to expand Castell Y Graig, including Sauna & Steam Room, a Bar/Pool room with lots of 'boys' toys.
I know having read this, that it sounds like 'sales' kind of review, but I can assure you that it is not. We had a thoroughly wonderful time and enjoyed every minute of it. We only wish that we could have stayed longer than 1 night. We felt totally welcomed into their family and cant wait to go back.
