Just returned from 10 nights (Bed and Breakfast) at the Mediterranean Palace Hotel in Playa de Las Americas. A beautiful hotel, very comfortable and clean. Location couldn't be better, staff nice and a good selection of food at breakfast. The reception area is fabulous... more

My wife and I have stayed at the Mediterranean Palace on several occasions but not any more. On the first few visits we were quite satisfied. The Atrium is quite spectacular with it's open balconies and huge chandeliers and the pool area is impressive. Alas the spectacle... more

Once this was a five star hotel, it certainly is'nt now. The first room we were given was directly above the restaurant. It was noisy, small, didn't have much wardrobe space. We asked to be moved and we (voluntarily) paid extra to upgrade to a suite. Both rooms were dirty... more

This is a very good hotel in a decent location. Those who had a sterotypical view of Las Americas will be suprised that the Hotel is situated in a more upmarked area, in fact just round the corner from Los Cristianos. The whole of Las Americas has also had a massive... more

We have just returned from this hotel, 2 adults + 2 children. This is not a 5 star hotel, more like a standard 3 star. We stayed in a suite, which was a good size, but the room wasn't very clean, the floor had not been washed for the whole week we were there, it was not of... more

Went to this hotel to relax for a week and found that there was work being done all around the pool area. Breaking up concrete and re-concreting. The noise was terrible and went on all day. On the penultimate day of our holiday they were actually drilling on the floor where... more

Spent 1 week at this fab Hotel in Tenerife. It has a great location with Playa de las Americas and Los Cristianos within easy reach. We were on Bed and Breakfast and had no complaints with the food. The med is part of a 5 star resort with 4 other 5 star Hotels of which you... more

Food disappointing
Came back from Tenerife in July 04 cheap deal on teletex. My parents had been there before and highly recommended it to me. Hotel clean and tidy, staff were very helpful, food very disappointing - it was mostly fish every evening, not good when you dont like fish. Soup watery. Pasta cold. Chips hard. Next time will make sure I go b&b. We were told via internet and teletex that we were able to eat in any of the other hotel on the complex and use the facilities as and when we needed but not once did they mention about paying a... more
Fab hotel!
Fab room in lovely hotel - only downside was the noise from the bar outside our room. Pool area and grounds well kept. Plenty of things to do during the day. Would definitely go back
Top notch hotel
I have just returned from a fortnights hol in Tenerife staying at the Med Palace. The accomodation was excellent as were the friendliness of the staff. Nothing seemed to much trouble for them. From th time we checked in to the time we left we were made feel at home. We stayed B&B the breakfast was very good with plenty of choice for everyone. The hotel and the rest of the Mare Nostrum resort was spotlessly clean although some of the furniture in need of a bit of attention. It is ideally situated for the beach & shops. With bars and... more
okay but not 5 star
stopped at the Med Palace, was expecting five star luxury, was greeted with a small room and poor food. Hotel and others in the Mare Nostrum resort are immaculately kept, and beautiful, but the important things were below the standard i would have expected. Restaurant was small, with a poor selection of inedible cold food, breakfast a slight improvement on the evening offerings. Maid service good, rooms serviced daily as you would expect, although the room was small and dingy and the bathroom really tiny. Pools are... more
Excellent
My husband and I have been to Tenerife many times before and on each occassion have walked past the Mare Nostrum resort in awe! So last December we decided to treat ourselves to a stay there. The hotel lived up to all expectations and the facilities were first class. We did not eat in any of the restauarants as they seemd to be fairly pricey however the breakfasts are fantastic The hotel is in a great location with a wide variety of restaurants and bars on your doorstep. The staff were great, really atentive and really made our... more
Spanish -It's only a 3 1/2 stars accomodation with 5 stars prices
Well, first i am spanish Never in my life i see a joke with the hotel. I choose a suite wth pool, an terrible election, teh suite has broken the ground, doors, bed... and DIRTY. I lament to staff this suite and offer me to SIr Anthony Hotel (other hotel of the resort), this hotel is better than Mediterranean Palace but i see many hotels of five stars-grand luxe more cheaps and better than Sir Antony. My advice for Tenerife Island by Five stars hotel are Botanico Hotel (very good, puerto de la cruz) and Bahia del Duque... more
Highly Recommended
Everywhere in this hotel is spotlessly clean. Staff are friendly. Excellent value when booked on teletext at £250 less than brochure prices. Room was mountain facing and overlooked a busy main road. Noisy at times but excellent soundproofing and air conditioning sorted that. We got the sun on our balcony in the afternoon and evening which was very pleasant. On the (Good) advice of other posters on this forum we took the travel kettle and some teabags; we paid 15 euros(ish) to use the minibar as a fridge and saved a fortune by... more
excellent place to stay
we booked with the mediterrenean palace for may 23rd 2004 when we got there we were told that we were not booked into that hotel but we were allocated to the julio ceasar palace (another hotel in the complex) we had booked a room with private pool the room we got was amazing, twin balconies one of them massive with sun loungers pool and table, chairs the other one with just a table and chairs full marble bathroom etc and maid service twice daily we did go for breakfast over at the med palace which was excellent... more
Excellent Holiday
My husband and I went to this hotel on 23 April 2004. Our hotel room was cleaned and sheets/bath towels changed every day and we found all of the staff very helpful and friendly. The pool area was massive and very impressive. The decor was a bit out of date but still impressive. We would most certainly go back again. This hotel is ideal for either couples or families. more
Average 4 Star Hotel
We've just returned from a week's break staying at the Mediterranean Palace in the resort of Playa de Las Americas in Tenerife. We were advised when we booked the hotel that it was a 5 Star, however it was more suited to an average 4 Star. Generally, the hotel was impressive with its olympic size swimming pool and walkways to the other complexes. However, the big disappointment was in the Mediterranean's breakfast and evening meal buffet. The breakfast was very basic, not even a glass of champagne was on offer, as opposed to the other 4 Star... more
