Clean tidy friendly yet professional Hotel.Rooms were very well kept.
Staff were polite and always willing to assist in any whch way possible,
Breakfast was more than sufficient with ample choices.
Situation of the Hotel was also excellent with a good sized swimming pool and loads of room for laying on the loungers,
Beach directly outside the Hotel was very clean and well looked after.

This is a very good hotel in a decent location. Those who had a sterotypical view of Las Americas will be suprised that the Hotel is situated in a more upmarked area, in fact just round the corner from Los Cristianos. The whole of Las Americas has also had a massive makeover in the last 10 years.
The hotel is very clean and the facilities and services are good. The room we stayed in was a disappointing (in size) and I would say would be on par with a 4 star hotel. There is a gym on site which charges 5 Euro's per use of 18 Euro's for the week, which is of a reasonable standard. The Pool is very big.
One word of warning though. We had a room which faced onto the street. We are both very deep sleepers and not usually bothered by noise, however we found the noise both inside and outside of the hotel to be really loud on some nights. This would definitely upset some people.
Overall I would recommend this hotel.
I have just returned after...

I have just returned after spending 9 days at the Mediterranean Palace hotel. I travelled there with my boyfriend and spent my birthday whilst out there.
I had read all of the reviews on this site before I went and wasn't put off. You have to be seriously unlucky to have had a bad time at this hotel. I have always been used to staying in a high standard of hotels when I go on holiday, and although not quite a five star hotel, is definately not far off.
My first impression of the hotel from the outside is that it looks quite dated. That is because of the bright blue colour (I called it the Thunderbird hotel), however, don't let that put you off. The inside of the hotel is lovely. Huge big spaces, with lots of areas to relax in and outside of the hotel.
When checking in, we were presented with a glass of Cava, and the staff were pleasant and efficient. The bell boy was quick in bringing our belongings upstairs and showing us to our room.
We stayed on the 5th floor, with a mountain room, and although most reviews say to opt for a pool view, our thought our view was lovely. You could see the hustle and bustle of the area without it being to imposing, as well as the mountains in the background.
The rooms are not the largest in size, but more than sufficient for the price that we had paid. The bathroom was clean, and had plenty of fresh towels every day and our sheets/room cleaned every afternoon. Our privacy respected when we wanted it. Our balcony was kept cool, but if you want the sun, you go and sit by the pool or through the back of the pool is a gate that leads to the beach.
The pool is huge, albeit very cold. However, once you were in the pool, it was deliriously refreshing, and never too busy, even dispite the fact it was kids easter holidays. There were plenty of loungers and if none free, the staff would see to getting you one brought over. Huge big pool towels were offered every day, so although we packed our own towels, they were not used once all holiday.
We only stayed bed and breakfast but with a huge amount of restaurants on the beach front and on the road at the front of the hotel to choose from, wouldn't wanted to have stayed in the hotel every night. We had the choice to also use the facilities of the other hotels/pools, but apart from having a quick nosey, felt everything was efficient enough for us to stay within our hotel complex.
Breakfast is served between 6.30 and 10.30 am and there is a huge choice of hot food, fruit, cereal, yoghurt, meats, cheese, coffees, juices, pastries, that there is something to cater everyones needs. On our last day our food was a bit lukewarm, but we did get down for breakfast at 10.20am.
Outside of the hotel there is plenty of places to eat a more traditional English breakfast, should you prefer, which costs no more than 3-4 Euros. A couple of mornings we woke up late for breakfast so found ourselves venturing out for something to eat.
In terms of the entertainment, it is definately not for the young. But we were happy to venture out of the complex in the evenings for both food and drinks. The bar was very expensive with only a small range of cocktails, but with a busy nightlife only 5mins away from the hotel, didn't feel hard done by, the hotel was there for us to sleep and relax, every thing else, we found outside.
On my birthday, I was surprised with a room service continental breakfast... if you are wanting to treat a member of your party whilst there, I would definately recommend this as it was delicious and a wonderful surprise and alternative to eating in the restaurant.
To summarise, I am a 23 year old who went away with my boyfriend for a relaxing but fun break and I would definately return the Med Palace. The staff were fantastic, the hotel clean, bright. I will definately be returning at some point. The location of the hotel is fantastic, something for everyone is on the doorstep, whether that be the beach, restaurants on the beach, supermarkets, or if you want a busy night out head into Starco.
The shops opposite are fantastic, with designer boutiques, lovely little clothes and shoe shops on nice clean roads.
If you do book this hotel, I recommend Bianco's Italian restaurant, which is on the main road outside of the hotel. Also, Picallos, towards Los Christianos was very nice and Toro Tapas (the receptionist at Med Palace recommended this to us) for a traditional Spanish meal.
I hope you enjoy your holiday as much as we did. Some people are just too fussy. I have high standards and the hotel met my every need, as I said at the beginning of my review, you are very unlucky if you have a bad time at this hotel.

We have just returned from this hotel, 2 adults + 2 children. This is not a 5 star hotel, more like a standard 3 star. We stayed in a suite, which was a good size, but the room wasn't very clean, the floor had not been washed for the whole week we were there, it was not of a high standard. The bathroom had mould everywhere, and we had a leek in the celling above the toilet, so when you went toilet you needed a towel over you, this was reported several times, but never fixed.
Also be warned on the extra charges, we stayed full board, but we were told it was only the Med hotel buffet that was included, all the others had a supplement between 6- 22euros each, including children, so when you add these to your meal and the drinks, it became expensive. The food was great, plenty of choice and all fresh. If you do pay for your drinks daily, do keep receipts, as when we checked out we were charged for 3 nights drinks, saying we had not paid, fortunately I had my receipts to prove I had paid, only then it was taken of my bill.
The entertainment was a bit on the poor side, this normally starts at 10.15pm until 12.30am, which is very late if you have young children, as they can't watch as they are tired, but can't sleep as it is to loud. The location of the hotel is good, plenty of shopping and right on the footstep of a nice clean beach. There is a minibar in the room, which you can use as a fridge at a charge, which is handy to store cool drinks. I would recommend bringing your own towels, as the bath towels provided, are of poor quality and very old.
Also the pool area gets very busy, even though it states that you can not leave towels on the sunbeds, otherwise they would be removed, but people were leaving towels on them from the night before and they were not removed. Also be warned, that although this hotel does have a nudest area, which is on the 4th floor, about 30% were sunbathing in the nude around the main pool, and approx 60% of women sunbathing topless, which isn't ideal if you have young children. If it's a 5 star hotel you are after, I would not recommend this hotel.

Went to this hotel to relax for a week and found that there was work being done all around the pool area.
Breaking up concrete and re-concreting. The noise was terrible and went on all day. On the penultimate day of our holiday they were actually drilling on the floor where our room was.
The lady 'manageress' came round the dining room at breakfast on the Thursday to say that we could use the pool next door. She asked if we were enjoying our time and we said about the noise and her reply was well it is all for you and when it is finished it is for you!
However, the fact that we had only come for a week's rest and that we were going home 'ragged' from the noise the next day, didn't seem to bother her.
Every night around 8.00pm there was live music until 11.30pm and there wasn't any soundproofing in the rooms. There was no way anyone could sleep until it was finished.
Anyone wanting rest and recuperation this hotel is not recommended.

Spent 1 week at this fab Hotel in Tenerife. It has a great location with Playa de las Americas and Los Cristianos within easy reach.
We were on Bed and Breakfast and had no complaints with the food. The med is part of a 5 star resort with 4 other 5 star Hotels of which you can use the facilities. The Hotel could probably do with a bit of sprucing up but it didn't bother us at all.
We booked our flights with Thomas Cook and Hotel and transfers with Relaxabroad.com and saved quite a bit of money off the brochure price. We have paid more in the past to stay at some 3* Hotels. We would definitely recommend this Hotel.

Just returned on the 19th of July from the Mediterranean Palace bordering Los Cristianos with Las Americas. My Girlfriend and I spotted the Med Palace last August whilst staying elsewhere in Los Cristianos and vowed that we had to stay there should we ever return to the Island.
We stayed for just a week B&B but wish we'd have stayed for a fortnight because there really is loads to do. The hotel is really, really smart and very clean. We had a standard pool-view room which was a very comfortable size. The air-con was great (really cold) but we hardly ever used it. The temperature never dropped to below 23 degrees even at 4 in the morning, but sleeping was surprisingly comfortable.
We stayed B&B but always prefer to go SC but this was not an option at the Palace. There was a large selection at breakfast (something for everyone) but we only opted to have breakfast twice (because we're lazy and preferred to stay in bed til about 10). We didn't use the indoor pool, gym, or Spa (cocktails and sun seemed more appealing) but had a wonder around and they all looked 1st class.
The entertainment at night was pretty good and only went on until between 1115-1145 pm so not too late. There seemed to be loads of things for the kids to do as well and watching there mini-disco from the balcony at 8pm was entertaining.
The hotel staff all spoke English and were very friendly. The room was cleaned daily and your stock of 6-8 towels was replaced.
I could go on writing about how good this hotel is forever but I’m trying to stick to the basics. Going to Bulgaria next Summer to stay with some family who've bought an apartment out there but if I can save enough, I’ll definitely be back to the Med Palace.
One thing I will say is that I booked my accommodation directly with the hotel and my flights with Monarch and it came to £860 all in (not each, total). Via a travel agent you will pay in excess of £1700 - £2000. I've always been dubious about doing things over the Internet but I can safely say that I won't ever use a travel agent ever again. It's so easy.

Booked well in advance when hotel was offering book early discount. Facilities well worthy of 5* rating. Arrived early hours (4am) when room was booked for later on that day but reception staff extremely helpful and even though it was half term week in UK they managed to sort out an early room.
Pool at any complex was ex and the beach very close by. Nice system with towels issued for pool area.
Buffet meals catered for every taste and were plentiful even with last minute entry into restaurant.
Will use again soonest.

A Christmas break is a well deserved rest for any family. We stayed in the 5 star Mediterranean Palace Hotel. This was first class, with a heated pool during the winter is a must. The hotel is on the beach. It was not really suited for children as it was a bit up market and children were not really catered for in the restaurant. However there was an excellent children’s club, mini disco and cinema.
The hotel is just minutes walk from Los Christianos, and near enough for shopping at Playa de las Americas shopping malls which are large and there are plenty of bargains.
There are small family bars open through the winter who cater for families and are reasonably priced.
Mount Teide (volcano) is open all year round and definitely worth a visit if you can hire a car. DO NOT take the scenic route back or you will be stuck up a mountain for hours.
The Spanish celebrate Christmas Eve more than Christmas day and its lovely to be part of the celebrations of Feliz Navidad.
The taxi to and from the airport takes about 10 - 15 minutes and we paid about 20 euros.
Even though it was out of season, there was plenty to see and do.

As our holiday was booked through lastminute.com our flight was with First Choice. The flight didn't live up to much with no meals and very little let room.
However, once we arrived at our resort we had an excellent holiday. The hotel was superb with all the latest amenities and an amazing pool and spa. This hotel would suit couples looking for a quieter more relaxed holiday as you are right at the quieter more up market end of Playa De Las Americas.
This 5 star hotel was in a complex with other 5 star hotels and you are able to use the amenities and restaurants at all the hotels on resort. The beach is right beside the hotel along with plenty of shops and restaurants.
I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for something a bit special in Tenerife!

This hotel is like stepping back to the days of the Mafia!
It has a very opulent 70's feel to is with a very impressive frontage, galleried reception & landings.
The rooms are bright & airy and certainly worthy of their 5* rating.
The pool area is wonderful, with fresh towels daily and an almost guarantee of a sun bed at any time of day!
We found several excellent restaurants - our favourite was little Italy on the sea front a short walk along the sea front.
