Three Corners Ocean View Hotel Reviews
" Amazing!!! "
Submitted By: Zoe.MarioThere are 2 shops in the hotel both next to each other. On the hotel tour we was not shown these shops so make sure you look out for them as they are the cheapest shops myself and my boyfreind went to around the hotel and definitaley the friendliest. We made really good friends with the 3 men who work in the shop (Saied, Albeir and Emad) and they treated us so well. They like to ask questions and get to know there customers so dont be shocked if they ask you lots of questions.
The animation team work really hard to make the shows the best. They do a really good job and myself and my boyfriend really enjoyed watching them.
The hotel and area was much cleaner than what we expected and I felt really safe.
We did 3 trips whilst we were out there which we both loved doing. We did the 'lagoon trip' which is a free boat trip around El Gouna, the hotel provide this! We did the Oasis Party which included a meal, a little camel ride and a belly dancing show. We also did the 'Safari desert' trip which was riding the Quad Bikes in the desert. This was our favourite trip, we were out in the desert for 4 hours which seems like a long time but we stopped several times for drinks that they provide, he talked is through some history of the mountains etc, we watched the sun set which was beautiful and we went to a camp which some locals live in. It was a really interesting and fun trip which I would definateley recommend.
Overall, the holiday was the best holiday we have both been on.
We are hoping to go back in November to the same hotel as we made such good friends there. We would definateley recommend going to this hotel. It was safe, clean and every one was really friendly.
Advice: It's beautiful and clean.
Activities: The all-inclusive meals were lovely and quad biking was brilliant!
Good for: Beach

Submitted By: BigRojHowever, all fears were dispelled within moments of arriving at Hurghada airport as we realised that Egypt is just like any other holiday destination, with the hustle and bustle of the airport and transfer buses and reps etc. What is a surprise is the amount of armed 'Tourism and Antiquities" police there are. But as soon as you accept they are there for your benefit, the sooner they become invisible, as so to speak.
The Three Corners Ocean View hotel is in two separate buildings, the Du Port, and Le Soleil. The main dining facility (or restaraunt if you prefer) is in the Soleil complex which has the main pool and beach area as well as what is referred to as the 'Sunny Terrace', which isn't after about 3pm, where drinks and snacks are served throughout the day and evening.
We were allocated a room in the Du Port building, and only breakfasts are served here, main all inclusive meals are taken at Soleil, but there are 2 a la carte restaraunts in Du Port, Chez Pascal (Belgian) and Dolce Vita (Italian, funnily enough). These can be booked through the hotel and you get a discount if you're all inclusive. Both are very good.
The main restaraunt in Soleil serves very good food to a high standard, and it is a weekly menu with themed nights, eg; Pharonic, Italian, World cuisine etc.
The lunchtime menu was always excellent with a selection of salads and cold meats/cheeses and always something hot, whether it be mini pizzas, burgers, pasta, kebabs and always french fries, proper ones!
The hotel itself has a nice, friendly feel to it, all the staff are well trained and polite and nothing is too much trouble for them.
There are 2 pools, the main one at the Soleil complex where most people congregate, and a glass-walled pool with loungers overlooking the marina next to the Du Port building.
El Gouna is a developing town built around a collection of waterways with a large marina being the focal point. They are due to open an even bigger marina complex later this year with a host of hotels, even one reputed to be a 7* to rival the one in Dubai. Some of the boats in the marina will blow your mind, they are huge!
The rooms in the hotel are spacious, very clean and there is a daily cleaning service.
A lot of people coming to Egypt for the first time are worried about stomach upsets and food poisoning and in the past this has been the case, but it is extremely rare to get any sort of upset from the food. In fact the most likely source of an upset will be from handling the local currency and not washing your hands properly before eating. Most eating places have an alcohol gel hand wash dispenser for you to use before entering. Also, the bottled water may give you a few gripes before you get used to it.
As for money, take Egyptian pounds with you (it will be clean) and $18 per person for the entry visa.
We did the 2 day Luxor trip with the early morning (up at 3.45am) balloon flight over Luxor.
It was fantastic, gruelling but well worth it. Our Egyptologist on this trip was a Doctor of something or other and he was well clued up, perhaps a bit too much sometimes, especially when we were being told about some aspect of, say, the Valley of the Kings, and we were stood in 45 degrees of heat and sweating, for 20 minutes!!
But it was worth it, the balloon flight was the best bit for me.
One thing I would advise if you go to this hotel is to email them 3 days before you go and ask to be allocated a room in the Soleil building, as being in Du Port, we felt a bit like the poor relations who'd been left out of the fun!!
Advice: Probably the best resort in Egypt, and quite possibly the safest.
Activities:

Submitted By: LESLEYCThe hotel staff couldnt be more helpful and we had more help from them than the rep!! They let us know where we were staying and how to find the resteraunt. We only saw the rep for the welcome meeting the next day with a brief outline of what was going on and only explained trips when someone asked her the rest of the time it was notes under the door.
It was much more useful to go on the hotel tour by the hotel customer service staff who showed you around the complex with lots of useful information.
The marina was lovely and the street party is good if you dont mind paying extra for food if you go.
The beach is about 15mins by bus through a building site (2008) but once you are there it is very nice with snacks and drinks on site.
Had to leave he hotel 5am to get bus convoy back and a little annoyed that the staff told us if we wanted tea or coffee we would have to pay. But apart from that a great holiday and hotel.

on arrival i was disapointed that i did not have a balcony as id requested , but i did have a gr8 view on the lagoon though the window, after a couple of days i was moved to the other building (not main hotel) and had a gr8 balcony but the view was of the main road(but no noise) all i had to do was walk to my room , my case/clothes and bits and bobs were all moved for me.
there are no kettles in the rooms so take your own if your like me and need that cuppa as you wake up. the are lots of bars and resturants around the marina, i went to one called blue blue, fantastic and with the 10% off voucher the hotel gave me it was such a good deal.
the drinks around the bars in the marina are expensive , almost £5 for a gin and tonic, but of course if you stay in the hotel all drinks are free(hic)
i think the three corner group have got it perfect
im going to stay at one of there other hotels in november(2008) in marsa aslam!
so will write on that on my return... would i go back. yes

Submitted By: Ms ES TaylorBe sure to book up to go quad biking in the desert, an amazing experience and visit Zeytouna Beach and for those that enjoy fishing try the all day fishing trip.
El Gouna is a safe resort to wander around at night and there is no hassle to buy from street vendors. Its not the 'real Egypt' of Luxor, Aswan or Cairo but you have the oppportunity to visit the temples and other sights if you want.
If you want lots of sunshine and just want to chill out I would recommend El Gouna and the Three Corners Ocean View.

" Just arrived back from El Gouna.
Hotel staff were excellent, freindly, efficent, nothing was to much trouble.
Food although it could be repetative,it was good quality, and plenty off it.
Choice was varied,plenty off salads.
After several long trips arriving back to the hotel around midnight a buffet was arranged in the restuarant.
As for the area it is reseanable quiet with plenty going on both during the day and night.
Shopping is good, and has a varied selection of international cusine to suit all.
Buses into ElGouna Downtown is every 15 minutess up to 2am.Cost about 50p per person.
The hotel itself is on both the marina and on the red sea.
The hotel is safe and so is downtown.
I recommend this hotel to anyone, also El Gouna.
Agreat holiday with fantastic people,in a great location

I was fobbed off by the rep that it was the sun however i had not been out in the sun as it was cloudy and actually quite chilly (yes i was shocked). She said no one else had complained but there was 4 other people in the chemist when i then had to go for my boyfiend who came down with the same a day later but fortunately not as bad. We ended up spending the next 4 days stuck in the hotel room eating biscuits that we bought from the shop as we daren't eat or drink anything from the restaurant despite being all inclusive.
I have written to Thomas Cook to complain and they have not replied to my letters despite providing them with the medical records etc. They are obviously not a caring company and do not understand that severe dehydration is severely life threatening.
Will not be travelling with them again-oh have been to Egypt before and that was for two weeks and was not even the slightest bit ill!
Will say that El Gouna is a beautiful area that you feel safe in.
