Good price/quality. Nice personnel...

Jul 2008, Dr J P J De Valk

Good price/quality. Nice personnel (if you tip regularly, which we did?). Pool a bit crowded, food quality below average, after a week very boring. Drinks part of all inclusive, but you have to ask to frequently and they are seldom cool, sometimes some ice cubes. But what can you expect at such a bargain price? Great spot for golfing a few games (which I did) and wonderful excursions, unforgettable, though a bit chaotic and loosing time at borders and unnnecessary shop visits (papyrus nonsense 1 hour in Cairo, while waiting deperately to see the Piramids and Nile cruise. If going into the Sinai, plenty of water and a torch needed and sore feet guaranteed, take a camel (and be shaken not stirred for an hour upwards in the dark). Great memories of a very nice holiday at a bargain price anyway....

we have just returned from this so...

Jul 2008, Mrs D Gubb

we have just returned from this so called all inclusive 3*plus hotel, to start with its not a 3* more a 2* and thats been generous, as for all inclusive i think not, weve been to plenty of all inclusive hotels around the world including differant parts of egypt and this hotel is the only one that charges for snacks during the day, drinks after midnight, food at the private beach, and depending on which waiter you see they also charge for bottled water, the tv only has 2 english channels, the mini fridge is empty, we did have a mountain view room (if we stuck our heads out of the side window)otherwise rooms were clean, beach was very stoney so you need strong beach shoes if you intend to go into the water, food was very basic and the same every night, entertainment is none existant apart from the 30mins of kiddie disco, theres only one bar open at a time so you spend plenty of time queuing for a drink, its also not very disabled/pushchair friendly as there are steps everywhere, take note as well that the all inclusive ends at 3pm on the day of departure regardless of what time you actually leave the hotel, if it wasnt for friends we met there we would have had to pay for our drinks for 4hrs which in the heat and a family would have been quite a bit extra to pay on an all inclusive holiday.

We have just returned from Egypt and...

Jul 2008, Mrs S Willis

We have just returned from Egypt and our advice is if you are booked into this hotel "Change your booking now" The rooms were clean but on checking in we were told the only way we could get any sort of view was to pay extra (seems everyone is told the same) we paid and additional 1136 egyption pounds and was shown to an acceptable room overlooking the pool. That is the only positive thing I could say about this hotel. The food is poor, The tables are dirty and most are broken or chiped, the placemates advertise a 2007 competition held by three corners company. The outside seating is wooden and broken chairs were laying about through out our stayIf you want a sun bed you need to pay the attendents up front and they will reserve for you. they manage to take all the best sunbed before 7.30am every day and will come and ask you for money to reserve yours for you.The waiting staff in the resturant will always wait on those who tip up front. We wont do this and believe in tiping for service received. We were passed by on 4 nights for anything between 30 and 45mins to get any service and in the end my husband left the table and went in serch of some drinks for us.There is a small bar but as this is used by all the waiters and guests it is not the ideal place to sit and have a pre or post dinner drink. Overall the place is poorly run and very tired and in need of a major makeover. In the morning there is still sticky marks on tables and chairs and in the evening you need to check you seat cushins as most have never been cleaned and are covered in bird dropings.Even the ashtrays were broken and dangerous to touch. We stayed for 4 days so did try to make the best of it but in the end spoke to our rep and request a move. We had to pay £230.00 extra and down grade to half board but moved to the Hyatt. If anyone is in doubt about the varience in quality then take the free bus and see for yourself. We ended up with a fantastic holiday, its just a pity that the begining was spoilt. You do also need to be very persistant with your rep and the local office who do drage their heels but get there in the end

WARNING!!!!this hotel is bad we went...

Jul 2008, Mr D Wilshaw,mr&mrslightfoot

WARNING!!!!this hotel is bad
we went to 3corners in june and we have got to say go somewhere else, you have been warned.
when we arrived our room was booked for three adults we were given a room for two when we complained we were told to pay £275.00 which we refused to pay so first night had to sleep on floor the air con was blowing warm air so no sleep first night.
ROOMS..clean sheets changed daily but covers were dirty, when we asked for an extra towel as only two in room they wanted to charge us,one of the single beds was in a state of disrepair which i injured myself on "deep cut to the leg" we were finaly given a type of camp bed which was faulty so who ever slept on it had a bad back the next morning.
BAR...only one person on to serve the hotel so have to que for drinks it was easier to buy it from shop, the barman was good and fast but just to many guests for one man.
FOOD...food was ok but same thing every day and night not much change,so if you call cutting a potato in a differnt way a change of menu well!!!!and where you eat their were birds flying around which got in and no attempt to move them.
TRIPS...go see max the best their for trips.
all in all we been to other places in egypt and this is far from being good.
be aware you will be hounded for tips all the time, and women are hounded by the locals and at times even when with husbands or partners, plus if your a teenage female beaware they wont leave you alone.
SO PLEASE CHOOSE THIS ONE CAREFULLY!!!!!!!!

Just returned from a 2 week stay at...
9 / 10
Jul 2008, Mr K Cowell

Just returned from a 2 week stay at the 3 Corners (17/6/08 - 01/7/08) The holiday was excellent overall and in our opinion, incredibly good value for money. We were a party of 4 - myself, my partner and our 2 daughters aged 17 and 4 years old. In the weeks leading up to our holiday, I used this site on a regular basis to read reviews etc so I thought I'd better take the time to submit my own :)
We travelled with First Choice and although the airplane seating is pretty cramped, the cabin crew were very friendly and good at their job and, along with the in-flight films etc the 5 hour flight wasnt the long drawn out drag that I thought it might have been. Processing at Taba airport was pretty quick and straightforward. The First Choice rep meets you as you emerge from the building and points you to your awaiting coach - where the coach driver will greet you with an outstretched hand and mumblings about how you must pay him so that he will load your baggage into the luggage hold area. I truly didnt have any loose change to give him but I will make sure that Ive got a loose pound coin rolling around in my pocket to give him next time - just in case this was the reason he decided to drive the 45 minute winding road down the mountain in the style of a racing driver - including overtaking races (wrong side of the road) with his fellow coach driver mates!!!!! Somebody has got to discover this guy soon and put him in a rally car because he certainly doesn't belong behind the wheel of a brand new powerful coach!!!
Anyway upon arriving at the hotel, we were very quickly checked in and given an excellent apartment. Room number 1125 Tamarin Suite. I recommend this apartment highly. It has 2 bedrooms, 2 climate control systems, large bathroom with walk-in shower, massive balcony with 2 sets of doors out onto it and 2 views! The balcony has a full sea view and the 2 large side windows overlook the mountains as well as the ampitheatre where they hold the dancing shows etc on selected evenings each week. This apartment was spotlessly cleaned everyday by the housekeeper - well worth leaving him a tip or 2 because you will return to your room to find that not only has he put the AC on full chat ready for you (a godsend) but he will also sometimes leave crocodiles / animals sculptured out of towels etc on the beds as a suprise (always seemed a shame to have to dismantle them when we needed to use a towel) This guy certainly does not have an outstretched hand for tips and he can't do enough for you - although I kept having Rodney Trotter moments everytime he called me sir - I thought perhaps there was somebody important behind me :)
The staff at this hotel really are all fantastic people and I know it has already been mentioned in other reviews but it is entirely true. Many of them also have a great sense of humour and it was only by chatting with a couple of them that I discovered the reason they prefer the English to all other nationalities. It is apparently largely down to the fact that they are able to relax and joke with us. Whereas with some other nationalities, they are expected to come when called, do their job and go away. I have to admit, I did actually witness some of this behaviour and was quite astounded but these guys seem to take it in their stride.
The staff absolutely love children, so if you are taking a toddler expect to be stopped at least 3 times a day for them to "gimme 5" etc. We also had our 17 year old daughter with us who is tall, slim and blonde but I've got to say, we experienced no leering or inappropriate behaviour by any of the staff whatsoever.
On our first day I went and found Abdo who was in charge of the towels around the pool area. Slipped him $10 dollars, had a quick chat and from that day onwards for the next 2 weeks we had our exact same 4 beds reserved for us every morning up by the kiddie pool (absolute suntrap - be careful). I know some people dont approve of this but it seems that most guests are doing it and I didnt relish the idea of one morning having to explain to 3 angry young ladies that I had got up too late to get the sunbeds in time!
We found the restaurant to be fine, the food was always hot and when the big trays / dishes were replenished, it was always done properly ie - not just putting the fresh hot food on top of the remainder of the existing stuff - they replace it entirely as soon as it is almost empty. It is quite incredible to hear people moaning about having to wait while they do this though..............but there you go. Each night of the week has a different 'theme' which puts a bit of variation in. For instance, Belgian night will include things like french fries, Italian night has things like pizza and pasta, Oriental night has noodles etc. I have to admit that towards the end of the second week we were finding the food to be a bit repetetive but this seems to be common in most AI hotels.
One thing that I would definitely like to see changed as far as the food is concerned, would be the addition of a few 'kiddie' type choices. We spent alot of time bribing our 4 year old into eating plates of rice, bread rolls, potato wedges and sauted vegetables but there were a couple of times where we ended up taking her down to the beach bar in the end and treating her to freshly cooked pizza and chips etc. You have to pay for this but it is pretty cheap and worth it for the peace of mind that they have got a full stomach. This is the only bugbear that I have and I would happily rate the hotel as 10/10 if this were to be changed.
I would also highly recommend a meal at the Flying Carpet which is behind the hotel. We ate here twice and the fillet steak is fantastic, as is the service. A two course meal including 2 lots of drinks for our party of 4 cost about £40 GBP and 3 of us had the fillet steak!! This is including a 15% discount which is far better than the Dine-Around option that the resort offers - you are allowed to use this 15% discount on the drinks aswell. Just look for a young lad walking around the vicinity of the front of the restaurant carrying the discount vouchers most afternoons / evenings, he will give you a pamphlet with a signed voucher and a friendly smile.
The beach is also excellent. We spent a few days there and even though I have never snorkled in my life, I am now absolutely hooked! Just pop into Marios supermarket (or nearly any other shop in Downtown) buy yourself a pair of cheap beach shoes and a snorkel. Then go straight over to the jetty outside the Sofitel - 2 minutes walk from the 3 Corners beach. There is a nice shallow part (armpit depth at full tide) at the steps halfway along the jetty, or a deeper part at the steps on the end of it. You will not believe the sights you will see in the crystal clear water. Within an hour, I had shot back up to Marios and bought myself an underwater camera and ended up taking some 60 photos down there!! Oh BTW, if you spend as many hours snorkelling as I did, expect your lips to shrivel up and drop off at some point. Lol. The water is incredibly salty!!!!! Unfortunately the seawater seems to instantly wash off all sun lotions. So if you do 2 hour stints at a time as I did, expect a nice flame-grilled finsh to the skin on your back - it was 46 degrees when we were there. I wore an old(ish) T shirt while snorkelling after that :)
We didnt see any mosquitos at all but there were a few pesky flies around from time to time. None of our party suffered any stomach problems but we all had a couple of 'looser' days at some point. Quite likely to be a combination of the heat and some very oily foods we were eating. They recommend to you that each person drinks at least 3 litres of water a day while the temperature is over 40 degrees and we were managing to keep this up. We took USD for spending and whenever we were given change in Egyptian Pounds we used antibacterial gel after handling the notes. Maybe why we didnt encounter tummy problems, maybe just luck???
Overall an excellent holiday and we will definitely be returning to this hotel again :)

Worst holiday we have ever been on!!!...
1 / 10
Jul 2008, Mrs S Easby

Worst holiday we have ever been on!!! FOOD POISONING!! my son was in bed with sickness, dehydration etc for 5 days he was weak, limp, and in alot of discomfort. he had three injections from the doctor who refused to do tests as he was the hotel doctor. The rep lied to us and advised us no-one else had complained when we found out many had complained. This is not a family holiday, egypt is still developing its tourist industry and they do not have the same hygiene regs as us. We have been many times as a couple, but as a family i would not recommend. The worst time of my life, we had to starve our son for 5 days with him begging us for food. He lost alot of weight and it changed his personality completely, and to think we paid over £1000 for this to happen!!

We didnt have as good a holiday as we...

Jun 2008, Mrs T Thomas

We didnt have as good a holiday as we could have done
First the positives
The food is nice and there is a huge range of it so there is always something to eat my little boy love trying new foods and has never ate so much
The setting is so relaxing and the scenary fab from the front of the hotel
The waiters, porters, bar men all work very hard and always have a smile for you
Max at reception is fab we booked all our trips with him and he was very helpful to us when we checked out and there was a slight problem which was nothing to so with us.
You are based in the town area so not far to walk to the shops. Marios market is ace and the pharmacy is brill too
Beach is lovely and the snorkelling is fantastic I even ventured in the deeper part towards the end. I am so glad I tried it
Overall the hotel is clean and the food always kept covered up and loved the way the non smoking and smoking was kept apart
Entertainment was great for the shows we saw usually we were too tired so went to our room after our meals
Buses to the beach are regular so we never had to wait long
Room service was fab and very prompt
Now for the negatives
after reading all the reviews the kids were looking forward to crocodiles, swans etc on their beds we never got any so the were disappointed as many people who were there when we were did get them
Our room wasnt as clean as other rooms, the bedding wasnt changed and the blankets
were filthy when we arrived although they did change the pillowcases and towels just not the sheets, also my biy dropped some pringles and they were on the floor for 3 days, so I think housekeeping was neglected where we were at the very back of complex
Our view from room was awful dull grey mountains, not even some nice gardens to look at and I refused to upgrade to a sea view for an extra £100 but having said that we were in perfect view for shows and street festival so could watch from our room
My husband had an injury where in the restaurant a boy dropped a plate and the china went through my husbands leg right through to the bone, we had to pay for stitiches and he wasnt allowed to swim or hardly could walk for almost the 2 weeks we were there so not only were we down on spending money as we had to pay up front it spoilt the holiday. We asked the rep if we could change to a ground floor room as everytime he tried the stairs and walked the stitches pulled but surprisingly they were all full yet 2 days earlier they were asking us to upgrade.
So it ruined our holiday and then every little thing niggled then.
Overall though you are paying for a budget hotel so shouldnt ask for much we did stay in a 5* when we went to Cairo and although it was very clean and posh the food or the service wasnt as good
Would I go back yes but hopefully there will be no injuries, and I do want to try other parts of Egypt too

just arrived back from 2wks in taba. the 3rd time we have been and to be honest it was awful food was very dire and the service was poor. had to pay for water when we was all inclusive and no water was available for us to drink from water butts. would not recomend resort for age group 18-100 as it is very boring and the kids song will make you want to slit your wrists....

Jun 2008, Mrs M Sanders

just returned from two week holiday brilliant. two weeks of sun sand and fun. accommodation good food ok always something on menu you could eat, animation team very friendly pool staff just great waiting staff very good bar staff Mohamed very good. The entertainment in the evening limited but you can join in or not.
Great place to relax and unwind either by the pool or at the beach staff there great.
Just a word of warning it was very hot and we used all high factor sun cream but soon ran out very expensive to buy out there so stock up.
Trips very good we would recommend the two day trip to Ciro and pyramids quad biking and if you are really fit mosses mountaintop see sun rise (you really do have to be fit to reach the top hard going but worth it) You can book with your rep or see max in reception.
We were a party of twelve ageing from fifty to fourteen and all had a great time thank you all at the hotel for brilliant holiday.

Jun 2008, Mrs K Oakley

We stayed here for 2 weeks, it was our first holiday in Egypt. The rooms were spotless, the staff were all excellent, and we have stayed in touch with Mohammed (pool attendant). We have booked to go again in October and May. Taba is lovely and very relaxing, but not the place if you want a lot of nightlife, we were happy just to laze around for 2 weeks, but will be going on trips this time, with Max as he is so much cheaper. We made many friends, both holidaymakers and shopkeepeers, Tito is lovely and also mamoud who runs the handbag/rug shop he made us so welcome and we ended up spending 2hrs in his shop chatting, drinking tea and swapping photos. We are meeting up with a couple who stayed here in May for another 2 weeks in October, and again in May. FOOD - yes this can get a bit monotonous as can drinking the same coctails everynight, but the beach bar does a great steak or burger and the manager there is a lovely man. All the staff are firendly, polite and helpful. If you want a holiday to just relax and laze around then this is the place for you. Just wish October would hurry up as we can't wait to go back :)

I have just returned from holiday...

Apr 2008, Mr P Saggs

I have just returned from holiday staying at 3 Corners El Wekala resort. The welcome we received from Staff was very good, Rooms were really good with good air conditioning which we needed as it was very hot, the week we stayed it was 120 - 140 degrees. The food was very good and a good selection, plenty to drink, waiting staff were very friendly towards us probably because we Joked with them which they seem to enjoy. Not like some people who spoke down to them. The massive swimming pool was good and the same depth all around. The sun beds were not a problem as we did tip the pool guard who reserved us 2 sun loungers each day. The highlight was the Entertainment team who appeared every day at the same time with the catchy song and dance routine they put on, you found yourself humming the tune most of the time. A very friendly place but what i think is a pity is that when it comes to the end of your holiday and you feel that you would like to tip the waiting staff but we did not always have the same waiters so perhaps a system in place with an envelope given at the end of the trip that goes into a pot ,to share with all the waiters and kitchen staff and a separate envelope for House keeping , this they do on cruise ships which i feel is a fair way not just one individual also gives a boost to the staff knowing at the end of a week that they will be rewarded.Taba Airport is another story best left alone. The tour operator could improve on informing people more clearly on departure details as we were told nothing about delays from Gatwick as we could have spent more time on the last day around the pool rather than the wait at the airport. We would return to this resort for 2 weeks next time as its very good value for money.

recently returned after 2wks and i...

Apr 2008, Mrs A Mcvey

recently returned after 2wks and i can honestly say we had a fabby holiday.
i was with my husband and 2 kids ( 4 , 8 ) .
i read all the reviews before we went and i was a bit wary and expecting less ........maybe im just easily pleased.
we has a grat suite with lots of room , and had a fab shower , and hairdryer ( just as well ... i forgot mine ) , clean towels daily and im sure the bedding was as well , normally thins is changed only 1-2 weekly in other holidays in other countries. a few times i came back at the end of the cleaning and my room smelt great .
food was fine , the hotel caters for many nationalities and and we all eat different , so taking this into consideration they did well , there was always something you could eat and we can b a bit fussy . i never found the waiters letching at me or anyone we met and could honestly say that i found them all individual as people at no point rude. ahmed the resturant manager was graet , anything we could have wanted would have been provided . we met friends and it was a birthday , the staff turned around an cake and song in about 10 mins , all complimentry.
animation team were great , ramy , amiro , mero , to mention a few , , , my kids loved the mini disco , yes it was the same every nite , but kids love routine and get to know the dances easier ,
i always felt safe , , security guards ar fine , pleaseant not letchy, no more that any young bloke in the uk would b if lots of femles were haning about almost naked .....at times i found them really quite respectful ,as with all the male staff .
weather was graet , o few pesky mozzys (thats why 9/10) did get eaten alive , but some never . went to pharmacy and got all i needed a fraction of the price we would pay in uk.
i would have no problems at going back , in fact we are planning to return next easter for poss 3 wks , we paid a reasonable price for a family of 4 and got a more that reasonable holiday . as i mentioned i was tasty to the bugs , but without any problem with the help of the security guard the man who sprays the insecticide came to my room and used a hand held machine to blast and kill any poss mozzys, housekeeping also left me a room sray as well . the "mozzy man" as i called him did go aboout and spray , but its for the tourists benefit , i really didnt see i as that much of a hassle , god , ur in a different country , some people like to complain
im defo going back ...............................
