Myself and my husband have just come back from a 1 week holiday at Chrousso Village. Our first impressions of the hotel were that it was very pretty with lots of flowers and greenery. We had 4 lovely sunny hot days, which we enjoyed relaxing around the pool.
We booked to go on 2 of the trips, one was supposed to be a shopping day but, to be honest you spend most of the day travelling! The other one was the pirates’ adventure day which we thought was great and worth the money. The beach was nice and only 10 minutes walk.
It poured of rain for 2 days of the holiday and this is when we felt very board because the only English channel you can get on the TV that’s in your room is the world news channel, also they don’t have a bar indoors or any activities for you to do.
In the evening you can book to go on the free mini bus that will take you to the next resorts, which we would recommend because there is no entertainment in the evenings and you’re in the middle of the sticks. Be aware the place is infested with mosquitoes which eat you alive!

Had a holiday in Chrousso September of last year (2006) had a fantastic time!
We only went for 7 nights which is definitely enough to be honest.
The beach is amazing - very clean and the sea is crystal clear.
We spent most of our time at the beach...but the hotel offers free minibus rides to the local towns of Hanioti and Pefkhori (Hanioti being the most lively at night) so it wasn’t as if the remote location of the hotel was a big problem.
There were however some down sides-
Wasps - the things were absolutely everywhere...unless you're very tolerant and not afraid of getting stung, there’s not much chance that you could eat outside, until late at night.
Can't fault the restaurant though- lots of choice- lovely staff...especially one called 'Kelly'.
Also, entertainment is very limited so I wouldn't recommend Chrousso for a family with teenagers, although there is a kid's club.
All in all though it was a lovely holiday and although I probably wouldn't go back, I don’t regret going... :-)

Just returned form a two week holiday to Chrousso Village. Originally we had booked into Lesse Studios in Hanioti but because of the fire First Choice moved us to Chrousso Village. Wasn't sure what to expect, but was very pleased when we arrived. The grounds are gorgeous and so well looked after.
The staff are brilliant and catered to everything we asked for, everyone’s so friendly and helpful. The First Choice reps were fantastic and really made the holiday so enjoyable. Don't have children, but met plenty of families who praised the Children's Reps and what we saw they looked to be entertaining the children so much they didn't want to go back home!
The beach is a 10min walk and the sun beds are free, the beach bar had everything you needed and the sea was crystal clear with lots of fish so great for snorkelling. The beach also had water sports which were very enjoyable if not a little scary! The rooms were basic but had everything you needed the cleaners came 6 times a week and kept everything to a high standard.
The food was delicious, had a variety of Greek food to try and the bars do some great cocktails! The waiters are brilliant and on a few nights the hotel get singers and bands in to entertain while you eat. We had lots of great nights listening to the music and the waiters all get up and dance and get everyone involved.
We hired a quad bike for a few days and explored the surrounding areas - very pretty and have lots of lovely photos. Basically we absolutely loved it and didn't want to come home. If you want a relaxed holiday with great weather, food and lots of great memories then go for it.
Children of all ages are catered for food wise and for being entertained. If you like staying around the pool or beach then it’s great but there’s also the opportunity to hire cars (or quads if you're younger) to go and explore. Would definitely recommend last week in August/first week in September as it wasn't packed but wasn't dead either.
With regards to the wasps it was just because the fire had made them come down from the woods and they were after the food but Chrousso Village were sorting them out and we didn't get stung, didn't dampen the holiday. 10/10

My wife and I and our two children under 8 were at Chrousso Village during the forest fire. The First Choice staff were very good indeed in organising evacuation to the beach without drama, but the fire did get very close. Curiously perhaps, the fire didn't spoil our holiday at all - it gave us something to talk about when we came back, because the holiday was a bit boring overall.
Two weeks at Chrousso village is too long, unless you hire a car (which we didn't) because it is so remote from anywhere else. With young children it isn't easy to organise getting to the nearby villages because the courtesy bus isn't frequent enough, but the Kid's club was excellent, and the reps and entertainers were brilliant with them. Our two went there every day, and sometimes twice a day. There was very little for teenagers, and entertainment for adults, if you aren't into Bingo & Quizzes was nil.
All inclusive meant just that - we only paid for a special "slush" for the kids in all the 2 weeks, and came home with half our holiday money unspent! The food was repetitive, but I wouldn't describe it as boring - it was just that we got bored with seeing the same items day after day. Selection for the children was poor and my son spent the last week eating only chips and ice cream for lunch and dinner (he is a bit fussy). The all day snack bar looked distinctly unpalatable - burgers sitting on the hot plate hour after hour. We didn't risk it.
At meal times and when having a drink, wasps and bees were in constant attendance, not from the beautiful flowers, but from the un-emptied bins and half finished drinks left around. Although they didn't really bother us, it was hard to ignore them. I got stung by a wasp, but it was mild compared to English wasps. My daughter trod on a bee and the swelling from the sting also went down in 24 hours.
The pools were not only too small, but turbid with so many bodies in them. The surface is rough pebbles and we skinned our knees getting in and out, but with temperatures of 42 and no air con, the pool was essential.
The sandy beach was excellent with basic facilities and the water very warm and clean. It got quite crowded because it was also popular with the locals.
Not as good a holiday as others we have had with First Choice, but would probably be nice for a week. There are too many other exciting places to go in the world to consider returning.

Me and my children all thought that the hotel was great. It was in a lovely area and the grounds where quiet and relaxing. The entertainment was great and suitable for younger kids and all ages.
The entertainment during the day was great for kids and teenagers. The kids club was great for the little ones. Overall we had a perfect holiday even though the hotel is a short walk to the beach. I would recommend this to friends and family and we hope to come back soon.

Just got back it was one of the worst holidays I have ever been on, lots of wasps that do sting, kids getting stung all the time when we were there. Food very basic and no variety, most staff nice except reception staff.
Holiday felt like a prison sentence except we had to pay for this experience, will not go back even if I won a free holiday there. Also had no air con for 8 days and room was above the kitchen and got very very hot. We only got one fan after 4 days without air con. Rep and kids club were very good but please don’t go there. Not a very nice place to go to.

We had a fairly good holiday but a few things spoilt it. The location is a bit remote but we knew this so we had a car for two weeks ,there are some lovely places ,Sani,Hanioti at night,Palouri and I really recommend a car.
The beach is the second best on the peninsular Sani is the best in my opinion, but it is excellent and is 10 mins walk. The lovely village of Palorri is a good 40 mins walk or 5 mins in the car, Hanioti is lively but was effected by the fire. The accommodation is fine but you will need AC.
The pools are clean but small and crowded. The grounds and area are lovely but remote. The food was fine but you could not eat outside due to the wasps and bees. Beware if you are near the emergency generator it runs a lot is fairly noisy if you are close and you can breathe in the fumes. The evening entertainment is very limited and all though all inclusive some things you have to pay for.

Just returned from 2 week family holiday. Complex is very well maintained and clean. They are in the process of installing air conditioning but only a small number of rooms have been done so far. Pretty location & grounds, although secluded, the beach is good. The free bus into Hanioti & Pefkohori runs regularly but book in advance, couple of days before is advisable. The Kids Club is excellent, Super Sam & Loopy Le do a fantastic job! Manfred, Yvette & Stelios from HPS also provide fun entertainment for adults during the evening, audience participation required!
There are plenty of wasps about but they are more of nuisance than a menace. My 9 yr old did get stung but caused him very little pain, didn't hear of any others. Anyone with kids may want to invest in wet shoes as the pool surfaces are rough & marble poolside can be slippery.
The only negative point we have is the food, there is a varied choice & plenty of it but after a week it can be a little repetitive. We met some great families & the kids made many new friends. This was our first experience of all inclusive & we will book on this basis in future.

Spent 2 weeks here, had a good holiday but really only because of 2 things. One being the people we met and the other the Kids Club.
The food was very disappointing and very repetitive. If you like toast get up very early as they only have 2 two slice toasters to cater for approx 700 people (when village is full) The apartment we were put in was partly underground which we soon became aware was infested with frogs. Outside the apartment was a bog which the staff promised to sort out but it wasn't. There was no air conditioning but we were given a fan.
The village is pretty remote. We were charged 10 euros in a taxi to Hanioti but found out we should only have paid about 5. The pool is far too small when the village is full and there are not enough sun beds. The grounds are pretty and well cared for. There a lot of wasps and not enough covered bins. The First Choice Kids Club girls were fantastic, our son loved going and met some good friends. Surely all inclusive means all inclusive? To be charged 3 euros to toast a free sandwich is ridiculous.
We made some complaints to the First Choice rep who was very helpful but we have heard nothing since.

We are just home from a week at the Chrousso Village and we had a very relaxing holiday. Before travelling I had read the reviews on here and was very worried about the wasps....actually they are mainly bees and are around due to the amount of beautiful flowers in the grounds!!! We travelled in a group of 8 and none of us got stung, so unless you are paranoid about bees and wasps you will be fine!!!
Onto the food.....funnily enough it is cooked by a Greek chef! If you are a fussy eater and expect to go to Greece and get English food then you will be disappointed. However, if you enjoy Greek food then it is generally v nice!
The accommodation was v clean if a bit dated. We didn’t have air conditioning but had 2 fans provided FOC and that was adequate for us.
The beach is a ten minute walk and is lovely. The beach bar is v expensive around 22 euros for 4 alcoholic drinks but the sun beds are free and you only need to buy one drink!!
We were impressed with the value for money on this holiday and found a week sufficient. I think 2 weeks would be quite repetitive as not much to do in the eve and too far to walk out to a bar for a change of scenery.

Just arrived home had a good holiday but only because we met some fantastic people, the hotel seems to have mixed accommodation varying from the basement apartments which we had with no light, no air con and awful bathrooms to the new apartments that have air con and a bath and bidet.
The food is very repetitive and I can't stress this enough we arrived on a Thursday and by Saturday we went out to eat, all the food seems Greek there is no variation the only English food is fish fingers and chicken nuggets but beware the fish fingers contain big bones. The so called snack bar is left over food from previous day or breakfast, this is a self service snack bar which is left outside in a fridge but children do not close doors so lots of flies and wasps on food.
The bar is ok not too long to wait for a drink even when the hotel is full but they tend to serve whoever is in front so there is no queuing. I was appalled that the brochure states all inclusive but we had to pay many extras including 3euros to toast a free sandwich.
The highlights of my holiday was the kids club the girls are fantastic my children loved it and as this is the only thing to keep them occupied during the day it was a must it also gave us a couple of hours on our own, some couples we met made the most of this time if you know what I mean just ask Len and Joan or Phil and Jackie ha ha
We made some great friends which we will keep in touch with but if we hadn’t had them if would of felt like a life sentence as we were there for 2 weeks
The entertainment is not up to much and there is nothing to do or nowhere to go if the weather is bad, as for the pool it was ok, take swim shoes as at the bottom of the pool is stones these cut your feet also check where you swim we saw 3 floaters in our 2 weeks.
We will not be returning.

Just returned from 2 weeks at Chrousso village, what a nightmare, read reviews before going was aware of wasps, never told about mosquito’s, we were a party of 7, 4 adults 2 teenagers 1 child eaten alive, needed medical attention which cost over 120 euros for my 250 plus mosquito bites.
Through the day bitten to death by flies, yes they bite! Then bitten to death in the evening by mosquito’s can not sit at the bar at night have to be in your room straight after tea or bitten, no prevention for mosquito’s until complaints then only 2 days before we left, didn’t do much good reps well not interested to busy having holiday themselves, never in reception when meant to be.
As for the kids club it was rubbish, also had to pay twice (its meant to be free!) for the kids to watch a film and face painting. Not at all like the video on the internet.
Food quite good restaurant staff ok. Bar staff miserable, rooms were damp, dirty and no air conditioning.
Maids in every day might as well of been every month, no remote for telly, shower broken had to hold it to shower, absolutely no entertainment Greek music twice a week,
Beach 10 minutes walk, filthy beach wear shoes at all times (my partner stood on something which gave him splinter type things which got infected)
Sun loungers not free have to buy a drink from the beach bar to use them 1 can of coke 3euros 1 bottle of beer 6 euros.
Very disappointed will not return.
