To say this was amazing is an understatement. Myself and my girlfriend purchased this late and it was an absolute bargain.
The staff were extremely helpful in particular the waiters assigned to us to the point where drinks were waiting for us at dinner and we didn’t even need to order! Khalid, Apollo, john, and Frederick were extremely friendly and hard working. A special thanks also to Anna our cleaner.
Our room was cleaned 4 times a day whilst the food was available 24 hours a day in splendid variety.
The service is out of this world and the cruise captain/entertainment are also excellent.
This is a holiday everyone has to do in their lifetime. We were treated like millionaires for the week. Even the reception staff were happy to charge our batteries and mobile without fuss. To complain would be extremely picky.
I really can’t wait to do a cruise again. Especially this one.
I know I’ve left names of staff out (Kane and Gavin are a great double act) and the entertainers led by Stephen are unbelievably hard working.
Money more than well spent.

Just returned from a week on the Destiny - Our first time cruising.
Booked on internet only a week before so didn’t really know what to expect. All was fine, tickets at airport, excellent transfer from Palma airport to ship (about 10 mins) and very easy, quick and friendly check in arrangements - you just give them your credit/debit card and from then onwards you sign on board for drinks, excursions etc.
We found it cheaper to buy drinks rather than the all inclusive (£150) each option. We didn't skimp on drinks, wine, cocktails spirits etc and spent a total of £130 for 2 of us for the week.
The cabin was on the lowest deck 2, right at the back of the ship. It was an outside cabin with a window and was quite adequate space wise, kept spotless by our lovely maid Stella, and had a nice bathroom and good shower. We would ask for a higher deck next time at least deck 3 in the centre of the ship as our cabin was above the engines so very noisy.
The choice of excursions was good and the prices not too bad. We did Rome and Portofino then just explored the other ports ourselves. Each night the 'Cruise News' would be pushed under the door of our cabin telling us all about our next port of call and what was happening on the ship the next day.
The Food was excellent, fresh, varied and served by wonderful waiting staff - some real characters. In fact the whole crew worked extremely hard and always had a smile and friendly word. We were surprised that there were lots of younger couples and families on board not just golden oldies! The captains Gala Cocktail Party was lovely giving everyone a chance to dress up. Although dress was generally smart casual on all other nights.
We ate at the Seven Seas restaurant in the evenings which was waiter service (our waiter Glenn was a lovely guy, who worked tirelessly to make sure we were happy). You sit at the same table each evening with the same people. However we preferred the more relaxed Lido buffet restaurant for breakfast where you could sit where you liked on the top deck in the sunshine at your latest port of call.
What really made the holiday for us though was the fantastic entertainment. Stephen Guy the Cruise Director and his team of dancers/entertainers were top class, the shows rivalled anything I have seen in the West End of London. The dancers worked incredibly hard and were always so full of energy. Even the daytime fun quizzes and competitions were enjoyed by all.
We were never bored on this holiday - and we were still getting lost on the ship on our last day!
I have just come back off my...

I have just come back off my first ever cruise and enjoyed every minute of it.
It was one of the best holidays I have ever been on - including Florida. I came away thinking I would never do a 'package' holiday to a hotel again.
The staff were helpful, friendly and would go out of their way to make your time on board ship a pleasant one.
The food was excellent.
The entertainment was excellent.
The cabin was excellent - and we only had one on the 3rd deck outside - right next to the anchor! - But it was great.
I thought the ship looked in good order and was very clean.
The sunbeds were fine - and there were plenty - you just had to move them if they were not where you wanted them.
The only thing that I could say that 'tarred' the holiday was how the British were so good at complaining!
We embarked the Thomson Destiny...

We embarked the Thomson Destiny on the 20th April 2007 (might have been the 21st... I can’t remember) at Santa Cruz in Tenerife. We stayed onboard the ship for 13 nights and enjoyed every last minute of it! We are both 19 years old so we were not too sure what to expect... but we needn't have worried!
We spent most of our time in the Clipper Bar making full use of our All Inclusive Drinks Package - this is a must if you intend on drinking alcohol throughout your holiday (You don’t pay for many drinks at all... Smirnoff Vodka is included as are all the Cocktails and Malibu etc... plus loads more!) We did go to watch some of the entertainment team's shows, but the dancers were never in time with one another and after a while it became irritating to watch!
The Audience Participation was very very funny in particular the Mr and Mrs show with Kane which was hilarious. As was the comedian on the first night who made Carri go the reddest I have ever seen with sexual innuendo... ALL AIMED AT HER... love it!
The resident band Juice were very talented especially Tommy who has an amazing voice and his cover of Sting was absolutely spot on! Unfortunately Juice left the same day as we did because the band went their separate ways.
The cabins are adequate for all the time you spend in them and are always spotless by the end of the day as they were tidied by the cabin Steward (ess).
Our Stewardess was called Natalie and we could not fault her at all... we came back to our cabins some nights and our night dresses would be fanned out on our pillows, she was an absolute GEM. Even on days we had hangovers and stayed in bed longer than the other passengers she would come back to our room once we had finally gotten up for breakfast.
The Food was very good. At first we ate at the Lido as being 19 years old we were never ready in time for dinner!...Women eh? But we did find it quite cold in the evenings from the breeze off of the sea so we eventually got organised and started going down to the Seven Seas Restaurant which was beautiful.
The food was always nice and our drinks waiter never let our glasses of wine get more than half empty, he also taught us how to 'sing' a glass - although clearly there were some guests who liked to dine in science for some obscure reason who did not appreciate this much.
We met so many people on this ship that we will always remember - staff and other passengers. Don’t be scared that there will be nobody your age if you are 18-28 ish because the chances are high there are other passengers your age or on your wavelength and the staff are normally in this age margin also and are more than happy to get the banter with you even at 4 am in the morning on your way back to your cabin and decided to go for an early breakfast... there is food 24/7.
Special thank you to Katya (Clipper Bar), Natalie (Cabin Stewardess), All the waiters and drinks waiters (Seven Seas Restaurant), Kahn (Security), Haley (Entertainment) and everyone else we came across who's names we cannot remember but we can remember them - I suppose we should have written this when we got back and not 4 months later!!
We do remember you!
Thank you for making our holiday such a good un and we hope to see you again in June 2008.

This is my first cruise and I thought it was excellent, the food was good, the entertainment was excellent especially Stephen Guy (Cruise Director) and Kane (Assistant Cruise Director) he was absolutely hilarious.
It is defiantly ten out of ten. The trip to Rome was very educational and very hard work because you do allot of walking but the guides are fantastic. I think the whole entertainment team were great.
My favourite show has to be Viva Las Vegas the costumes were sensational.
My highlight of the holiday is Miss Destiny hosted by Keef in the Oklahoma lounge the seduction round was so funny I don’t think anyone can look Stephen Guy straight in the face now.
I would defiantly go on a Thomson Cruise again.

Very much a curate's egg - good in parts.
The ship - clean, but tired. Pool decks badly patched, furniture chipped, sun loungers had lots of loose screws and were filthy, - and you could scrape the dirt off with your fingernails. Cabin space (outside, Deck 4) was adequate and beautifully kept.
Entertainment - a good entertainment crew, but all much the same each evening
Food - overall adequate, with excellent waiter service in the main dining room. Frequent problems with availability of cups (ghastly cheap plastic mugs actually) in the Lido cafe.
Excursions - Sorrento and Pompeii - the grand rip-off. 55 pounds each for the train version (including the cost of entry to Pompeii) we were given radio link units so that the guide could talk through her microphone. They were worse than useless, but the guide carried on just as if they were working.
As a result, it was worse than having no guide at all. The PA system on the train didn´t work either, and the tour around Pompeii was rushed in the extreme. You could buy a return from Naples to Pompeii for 9 Euros, and an all day ticket to the ruins for 11 Euros. Coffee and a beer in Sorrento - 10 Euros.
The excursions on Sicily and Corsica were much better. Barcelona was excellent, and Marseilles was, well, Marseilles. If you fancy a bowl of bouillabaisse, be prepared to pay up to 55 Euros for it!
The ships staff were excellent, except for the arrogant Canadian at Destinations Information. When asked what was the difference between the train trip and the bus trip to Pompeii, he replied, "One´s by bus, the other is by train."
The adult swimming pool was permanently full of kids, and no action was taken when this issue was raised with reception.
Internet Access - One pound per minute. No further comment.
The Destiny is NOT first class cruising, but there again; it does not claim to be. You get what you pay for, by and large, but we would not go again.

Overall not a bad experience, however must say that we have been on several cruises in the past 5 years, and this one was the least impressive.
Food and service: Very good.
Entertainment: Excellent.
Ship: Old and tired.
Cabin staff: Very good.
Shore trips: Very expensive (do you own thing it's very easy and much cheaper).
Teenager facilities: None to talk of.
Deck space: Very limited (too many people saving sunbeds and not using them!!).
Value for money: You get what you pay for!
Don't think we would cruise with Thomson as neither of my two kids (15 & 17) said they would like to go back again, they both said that they were bored compared the facilities available on other larger cruise lines (Royal Caribbean etc)
Would have to agree with others comments that this ship is more or less a floating 3* Spanish hotel.
My comments are in no way a reflection of the crew who in general go out of their way to please all the passengers, however Thomson's need to smarten up their act if they want to compete with the increasing cruise activity in the med by the bigger cruise lines.

I have just returned from 7 days on the Thomson Destiny and what I great holiday it was.
Everyone on board was so friendly and would do anything possible to help you have the best holiday ever!!
The ship was fabulous it had everything you could possibly want on holiday. There was a lot of activities that were provided throughout the day and the evening to suit all different ages with special clubs for kids and teens. There was a gym, beauty spa and 2 swimming pools one which was especially dedicated for adults and another for families.
The best thing on board for me had to be the entertainment. The quality of the shows was just outstanding with a different show each night of the week. The cruise director Stephen Guy and his entertainment team worked so hard to gear their shows towards all age groups and to suit everyone’s tastes.
Each night they give it their very best putting all of their effort and enthusiasm into every single show which must not always be easy for them as not only do they have to do two shows a night but also deck parties, cabarets and other work beside this also. The shows were all brilliant and the talent on the ship was fantastic.
The food and waiter service was equally as excellent. There was all the food you could possibly want with a different menu each night. The seven seas restaurant had a great variety of food to suit everyone tastes and the waiter service was something else.
Not only did they serve you the food but they also showed you tricks, how to fold napkins and put on a show of their own twice during the week which was very entertaining. The lido cafe had food on offer 24 hrs a day which was very convenient for people who were going on long trips during the day.
Do not miss the buffet magnifique in the seven seas restaurant it is amazing!!
The ports of calls that we visited were all beautiful. The Thomson staff arrange trips and excursions for you to go on and take you to some pictures places. Although they are expensive they are well worth doing.
The weather was perfect apart from one night which was very windy which caused the sea to be quite rough as a result but it did not put me off or spoil the holiday at all, as we were warned in advance by the captain to expect strong winds so knew what to expect.
I don’t really know what else to say apart from thank you to everyone onboard the Destiny for making my holiday so enjoyable and worthwhile. I will definitely be recommending the cruise to family and friends and can’t wait to return in the future for another great holiday.
Rebecca.

Just back from our first ever cruise - one week on the Thomson Destiny! What can I say? It was brilliant - I think the best ever holiday we've ever had.
The ship, the itinerary, the food, the entertainment, the crew, and all the people we met were great! It was such a relaxing and enjoyable holiday. We only has one night which was a little windy so didn't sleep that well but the rest of the week was fine.
All the information that was provided via this website was really helpful, we didn't take towels or a hairdryer as all supplied, we found the extra plug socket behind the TV (must remember to put the TV back when not in the cabin though-some people got caught out and were frowned upon).
We did all the excursions ourselves and saved lots of money but managed to see all that we wanted to and have a good time as well. It was a brilliant holiday and I would recommend it to anyone who's thinking of going on a cruise - we've even started to look out for other cruises!

I have literally just gotten home from this cruise today, just wanted to say I had an absolutely fantastic time. The value for money (which includes the all inclusive drinks package!) was awesome, and special kudos to Jemma on the entertainment team. All of them were brilliant, came and sat with you for a chat.
Entertainment was great from Flaming Alaska parades to sail away parties to game shows, and we had a fabulous comedian on board also.
The service at the restaurant was second to none, and the food out of this world. I couldn't believe at all the bars how hard those people work, yet they always have time for a quick chat and remember your name and regular drink so quick off the mark.
Cleanliness of cabins was great too, but as was mentioned prior, do put your stuff away yourself! They are bloody good at folding up and finding shelves you overlooked!
All I can say for younger would-be passengers coming from a 19 year old is definitely worth a go. I was a bit sceptical that the evenings and such wouldn't be up to much, but fun all around.
I just hope you all have better luck than me at the casino!

This was my first cruise and I thought the entertainment was first class.
I was put on level 3 beside the air-conditioning unit which kept me up most of the night, but after several complaints I was moved the next day to level 6. I lost my window view but a good night’s sleep was more important as I asked for a quiet cabin, so thank to girl at the reception.
The food was first class. We went for the evening meal at the Seven Seas restaurant.
The staff are so talented and made so much effort to please us thanks Mr. Angel and crew.
We also made some good friends cheers john and Linda.
The only thing I can add is I will be booking up next year and would strongly recommend this ship to anyone.

First time cruising and it was fantastic. Ship very clean, food excellent and staff extremely helpful and attentive.
Very slick operation from the moment we arrived at the port including all excursions.
Will definitely do it again! We upgraded to a suite and it was a good move as standard cabins are very small. Upgrade to the best room you can afford.

Just got back off the cruise and must say that I thought the cruise was fantastic. The ship was perfect, the food was excellent so much choice to select from the Seven Seas restaurant. The Buffets were great, open 24 hours a day plus a barbecue buffet. You must take some elasticised clothes with you because you can't miss this wonderful food.
The waiters and all the staff were great and so helpful and entertaining they made everything so special.
The entertainment was great with shows in the Can Can lounge, all games, karaoke and discos to the small hours in the Oklahoma Lounge. The sky Bar is the best place to go for the great views all around.
The sail away party was brilliant from Palma, the Cathedral was lovely all lit up. The ports of call were really nice the weather was great. Went on a guided to tour to Pisa had a good look around the tower and the church and cathedral, made our own way into Monaco and Monte Carlo was only 15 mins away on a train, the best harbour with so many fantastic yachts,
The best time ever, Can't wait to go back again.
Thanks to everybody on the Thomson Destiny Cruise Ship for a perfect holiday

The entertainers are brilliant, food is really good and the dancers in the Cancan Lounge are fab. My family and I enjoy going on Destiny and we all say that you should go on one. And I hope the show team now in the Cancan 2007 get this - thank you Thomson.
If you like a drink, get an all inclusive package - it's worth it. The trips are really good such as Rome, Pisa, France, Palma and more. If there's 4 of you in a room, they are very small but if there's 2 then it's alright.
On deck 9 you can go to the buffet 24 hours a day. The pool is sea water. They have 2 pools on deck 9 and they have a lot of sunbeds around the deck so you can catch the sun.
I didn't want to leave the cruise, it was that good. You could have lots of pictures taken if you want and the staff are really nice to talk to. Thank you for reading and remember to go on this cruise. Hope you get this message Destiny and every one of you.

I am going to cut it short... the most amazing cruise ever.
The staff are hard-working and always try to help you in whatever way they can.
Steven [Cruise Director] is not only a funny man, he arranges the most amazing shows and is genuinely a great person. Also I have got to mention Kane! [Senior entertainment host]... he is just amazing always makes himself involved with the passengers and comes out onto the pool deck to do all sorts of daytime activities with you....and makes you laugh all the time.
The meals in the restaurant are top class ...not only do you get great food...but you get quality service.
I would recommend to go all-inclusive; as it is so much easier while you’re sun-bathing the waiters come over and take your order.
The shows that are put together are just amazing with something for everyone.
All around just an amazing holiday!
I am definitely going back.
A big thank you to Terry [Captain] for making it a smooth drive.
And a big thanks to all the staff on the Destiny in July 2007.
