Never been on a cruise before ,we booked with Thomson because of there
reputation and so glad we did.from the hotel at Gatwick,to the flight to Mallorca ,boarded destiny, every one of the staff were so helpful, cabin kept spotless, food was fantastic, cold drinks, laying on sun loungers, beautiful blue sky's, watching the sea go by.
Trips out were effortless, coaches took us to amazing places with ease.
Entertainment in the evening was first class we enjoyed every minute of it.
lovely to go back to your cabin to rest, to wake up to another exciting day and different port.

We have just returned from our be4st ever holiday with Thomson's. We had a week on the Destiny and a weeks stay in Mallorca. The cruise was better than we expected. The crew and staff were wonderful. Could'nt do enough for you. The food especially in the Seven Seas Restaurant was first class. The waiters made our holiday. We went on 5 trips to places we have never been before They wer all excellent. We are sitting here looking at next years brochure. The only thing we would change is the trips. We would like to spend more time on board the ship.
- Advice: only go on a few trips

This was our first cruise so we didn't know what to expect really. I have never enjoyed a holiday so much and I have had many great holidays. This was perfect for us both as I wanted to relax on board mostly and my wife wanted to look at the sights ashore. On our first morning we were treated to an airshow by Jordan's equivalent to the Red Arrows, fantastic.
The food was outstanding and the service was fantastic. I have never met such friendly and helpful staff ever. I'm in the process of booking a cruise on Thomson Celebration for November, can't wait.

Just back from a weeks cruise on the Destiny. There was 4 of us and we al had a fantastic time. All the staff were very friendly from the Captain down to the housekeeping staff. All the staff worked very hard to please everybody. We had the all inclusive drinks package which was well worth the money. Entertainment was varied and very good food was plentiful. There was no need to queue at the bars for a drink as there was plenty of staff who were very willing to get u another drink when they saw your glass was empty. It was our first cruise and certainly wont be our last. Would like to give a special mention to Liuba in the Oklahoma lounge who was always there when we needed her and Jay dee in the can can lounge who was always up for a laugh and also Anna and juliya who kept our cabins clean.

we went on the thomson destiny in june this year and had a exellent time, the food and atmosphere and singing by the waiters in the restaurant was brilliant.the cabins were kept clean by the friendly maids and the entertainment was good in the theatre and cabaret bars.thomsons do not rip you off like some big cruise companys do who over charge for drinks and then by big flashy ships. I know thomsons are not brand new ships but we have been on three of them and we can say you will not be dissapointed on any of them derek.ann.penzance
- Advice: move around the ship to get everything in.

Just back off the Destiny yesterday after a week of sunshine and excellent itinerary. Ship small and comfortable, cabins a bit jaded but you'r only in them about 6 hours cos there's so many places to see and things to do on board. Food plentiful and a good choice of items. We ate in the dining room, waiter service, although you can eat on the Lido deck. Shows of West End quality - not always our preference but there are alternative venues with entertainment on.Drinks reasonable and bar service second to none. The whole of the crew are the best in the business in my opinion, hard working always with a cheery good morning and smile to match. They provide some great fun in the dining rooms after the evening meal. Gala night as grand as you want it to be or as low key. Our dining table set out for 8 which we found suited us. Can't fault it at all. great holiday
- Advice: Enjoy the waiter service in the dining room and see the shows

We have recently returned from the Roman Epic cruise in August 2011,when we booked the cruise we were slightly worried as we have never been on a cruise before and did not know what to expect! I am 22 and my partner is 27, and we got regular comments from friends that we would be stuck with 100's of 'old' people! but the cruise was a real mixture of ages -ranging from small children to elderly people. We both highly recommend cruises, its a great way to visit plenty of places in a short time, as the travelling is all done at night time whilst your in bed.
The staff on the Thomson Destiny are the nicest and politest people we have come across on all of our holidays so far, they always said hello, and always did what ever they could to ensure you had a great time.
The excersions were FANTASTIC! they were planned brilliantly, and the tour guides were friendly and amusing, they ensured your trip was a success, there was never a problem or a hassle.
The excersions that were available at the different locations were of a good variety, and catered for all needs.
There are destination hosts on board the ship, and they are brilliant, when we decided not to go on an excersion and have the day to ourselves they gave us maps and local information- very helpful and friendly people.
We visited Mallorca,Monaco/Monte Carlo, Leaning Tower of Pisa, Rome and the Collesum, Corsica , & Palamos in Spain.
The Thomson Destiny itself, is slightly dated in apperance but you soon get over that and it becomes more of character than outdatedness. There are two pools on board the ship which both are very small, but if you are going on excersions or visiting the local beach this is not a problem.
Your room is cleaned in the mornings, and then at night they even turn down your sheets and give your chocolates and fresh towels.
There are two resturants on the ship, one which is a waiter served resturant, which you have the same allocated seats every night, and may end up sitting with people you do not know, (passengers are very friendly and you soon make friends), or you can visit the buffet style resturant and sit where you like and with who you like.
All food is free on the ship 24 hours a day, drinks are not free, water is the only free drink except at breakfast when you can have apple/pineapple etc juices. We never had a problem with any of the food, all was to a good quality.
We would highly recommend cruises to all people of all ages etc. We had a fantastic time and are looking at cruises for next year.
- Advice: if you are interested in sight seeing - Roman Epic offers plenty of fantastic sights!
- Good For: Beach
- Good For: City Breaks

Sailed on the 22nd september on the med cruise ,THE FLIGHT ! very very poor the plane was past its sell by date , sticky seats, smelt, almost zero aircon and staff was unhelpful and not particularly friendly .Anyway back to the cruise. As said by other cruisers the ship is very tired and needs a refurb asap to bring it up to the standards of other ships charging the same price , but i have to say the ship is kept spotlessly clean .ENTERTAINMENT ! Well what can i say truly awful worse than butlins in all areas . CABINS ! small and kept very clean , but dont expect to have good nights sleep the walls are paper thin you can hear people having a conversation and EVERYTHING else in there room . Also book a cabin up the front of the ship no engine noise. FOOD ! very good quality but its never piping hot matter what time you eat , but something for everyone choice wise STAFF !Pool staff needs supervising more to many stood around talking to each other when its busy but 90% of all staff are excellent , hard working and cant do enough for you and make your cruise enjoyable. DRINKS ! We paid extra for the all inc package £289 and have to say for us it worked very well, you do have to pay extra for odd things but overhaul it was good . TRIPS ! unable to comment on the trips as i dislocated my ankle three days before we left so i couldnt leave the ship . EXTRAS ! the ship will sting you for every single extra they can, so be aware and ask if you have to because its not always included, if they can make an extra pound out of you they will .
So to some up we did enjoy our cruise for the reasons above , its not even CLOSE to being as good as previous cruises ie 'ocean vilage' or even near the same quality even though prices are similar . Im not sure if we will set sail with the destiny again , untill the refurb has been completed as i dont think its value for money , but would make an ideal holiday choice once an upgrade has been completed
