Holiday Inn Select Orlando Airport Hotel

My three kids and I spent 2 nights at this Holiday Inn on the tail end of our Daytona/Orlando vacation and were truly impressed. The king-sized bed had a plush topper and wonderful duvet on it that made it the most comfortable rest of our vacation. The sofa sleeper was brand new, the shower massage was grand, and the Wolfgang Puck coffee in the room was the perfect start to the day. We stayed here for one night so we could save a few dollars before continuing onto an unmentioned Disney resort hotel for the rest of the week. Well worth it. We are Priority Club members so we got a room on the 7th floor. The room was clean, the king-sized bed new and SOOO comfortable. We weren't driving, so we had to call for the free shuttle at the airport. It came fairly quickly and it beat the price of a cab. I have stayed at this hotel before and found the service and amentities to be very nice. I stay here because it is close to my family and also because I like the heated pool and spa. I checked out after four days because the pool was not heated and the front desk promised to switch it on, as it is an advertsied amenity. I have RA and SLE and require warm water, if I am to swim. Having read the reviews I had mixed feelings about this hotel and booked it for one night when we were spending two nights in the area. I should have booked two nights. You do get what you pay for, and perhaps being a Priority Club member helps when the hotel is sold out, but we were placed on the Executive Floor which had a beautiful, spacious room (once we figured out that the door handle goes up, not down). We Pricelined this hotel for stays before a cruise and after a trip to the WDW parks. Our first night we were at the nearby Marriott and the Holiday Inn was nice enough to send the van over to move our luggage and gave us a room upon check-in at 10:30 a.m. We had a king w/sleeper sofa which was great w/two small children - I hate double beds! They say you get what you pay for. We had 3 rooms that we got on priceline for $75 a night. New Year's is the busiest time of the year for this area so it was higher than I expected for the quality. The service was okay. No hot water the first day for about 5 hours. No bellman available when we arrived. The rooms we requested were no smoking and double beds. These beds are small for two people. recently stayed here 10/7/04. The staff was very friendly and efficient. The airport courtesy van was on time and helpful. I booked the room on proceline and got a good deal. The only drawback was that upon first entering the room it smelled musty....probably from all of the rain from the hurricanes. I would stay here again.

I booked this hotel by bidding for it online. I was able to get it for only $44.00 per night. On August 3, 2004, we arrived at the Holiday Inn Select Orlando Airport Hotel. The outside is dated and is painted with a pale green tone. Parking is limited and sometimes can be difficult finding a spot. This was an awesome way to start our Disney vacation. We planned to arrive @ 7 pm into Orlando the night before our resort stay so I reserved one room at this hotel. I called to get the Hotel Shuttle and within minutes it was there. Checking in was a breeze. The only problem we had was that the front desk was not very accommodating when we inquired about reserving a room for the night on which we were departing (7 days later). Stayed at this hotel after a very late night flight into Orlando. The shuttle arrived less than 5 minutes after calling from the courtesy phone. Check in was very quick, our request for room with a king and sofa bed was met without problem. Friendly efficient staff. Room was clean and nicely decorated. My youngest was in bed asleep 35 minutes after we stepped off the plane!! AM shuttle runs every 30 minutes. Nice experience and VERY convienent. Would be happy to stay here again.
