Hampton Inn Hotel

My son and I stayed here on a spring break trip. Clean place, usual Hampton Inn breakfast spread. Microwave and fridge in room. We had a room on the top floor so it was a quiet stay although there were several marching bands/tour groups staying as well. Free shuttle bus to Universal beat paying $11 for parking and fighting traffic. Tip: get to the bus early. It was standing room only both ways. No hot tub.

Encouraged by the other reviews here, and having to change hotels at the last minute so this one was reasonably priced and had rooms available, off we went to this "Hampton Inn" very close to Universal Studios. Location is good, away from main drag, quiet at night, rooms also quiet yet small (16x9 for the "living" area, which has to fit a king size bed, TV, desk, coffee table and sofa). We just returned from a 7-day stay in Orlando. This was a "Disney-only" trip and although this Hampton is closer to Universal we had no problems driving to Disney daily. The hotel was clean with great service from the staff. We were on a quiet non-smoking floor. Our room was cleaned daily. The complimentary breakfast was ample and more than adequate. October 19, 2006. Stayed overnight on the way to Miami. The receptionist was efficient and helpful. The room was clean, cool and quiet. Good beds! The parking was at no cost. A group of young people came in about 3:00 AM and woke us up. They did not quieten down so we just got up at 3:30 AM and checked out. Obviously we did not get our money's worth because we were deprived of a needed night's rest. If you stay here you take your chances with it being a noisy crowd. Unless you are one of the party crowd stay somewhere else.

This Hampton Inn has been newly renovated, and is very nice. We got a great rate, and the staff was also excellent! The daily breakfast was also very nice. We visited Universal Studios, and this hotel is very convenient to there. I would stay there again, and recommend it to anyone!

The room I had had the dodgiest wireless connection I've ever seen (and all hotel WiFi is pretty dodgy, from the many I've seen), by a long shot. It took about 5 minutes to load any page. The phone had more than the standard amount of static noise. Several of the few available cable channels were unviewable due to interference or something. 1st Couple of days, okay. Switched rooms due to the group we were staying with checking out, with us staying behind to enjoy a longer vacation. Chaos in attempting to get room switched, lies from the staff (They didn't know I had spoke with one staff member the night before to get all details of switch worked out, including what obstactles we could possibly face. I used TripAdvisor in my search for a hotel for my husband and myself for this past Memorial Day Weekend. I had to come back to this site to post my comments on this hotel. After reading some of the reviews of this hotel, I was afraid of what I was going to be confronted with once arriving. We stayed here as part of a trip from UK to FLA. We stayed in half a dozen or so Hilton properties, and this was cheapest. It was "solid"- exactly what you expect from Hampton. Room fine, spacious. Bathroom clean and entirely adequate. Breakfast was standard for Hampton -fruit, juice, egg-things, bagels, bread etc. Location was good for I-Drive and the whole experience was absolutely fine. Only downside was no ability to access Internet without own pc -no lobby PC as in many other Hamptons we've been to.
