just got back from a brilliant 10 night stay at the torviscas playa. everything about this hotel was outstanding, the rooms were spotless and maid sevice excellent, staff really friendly, food lovely and a great choice. the pool was large enough for this big hotel and there is a childrens pool that was great for my two nieces, plus a smaller main pool with a jaquzzi in the centre of it.
the location is brilliant and there is a side exit to allow people staying at the hotel easy access to the beach, the beach nearby is clean with lots of cafes and restraunts to choose from if you decide to eat out.
just a short 10 minute walk away (if that) there is a larger choice of more bars, cafes and restraunts alongside another gorgeous beach plenty of shops nearby to browse through and supermarkets to stock up on water etc
i was really suprised to read the review where this hotel was only given 1/10. i found it to be a really safe and freindly environment and would definately not of thought there were bag thieves around.
the mini kids club in the day looked excellent and the entertainment staff were lovely, always trying to involve everyone. althuogh i didnt take part in any day activities there was a large choice.
the only bad thing i could possible say is that the childrens night entertainment was not all that good, there was a childrens disco but it only lasted 30minutes. this in no way affected our holiday though as there is plenty more to do in the area.i dont know if the childrens entertainment is any better in high season as there were few children to entertain during our stay
i would defintley return to this hotel again, a definate 10 out of 10

hotel is in an excellent location for beach, bars, restaurants.Food in hotel was superb couldnt fault the very friendly staff, rooms cleaned every day with fresh towels, pool area cleaned every morning with pool towels if required. On arrival the very effiecient receptionist met us with a glass of fruit juice and was very informative. The air con was good and the mini fridge came in handy.Although hotel was on the road it was quiet , we had a room on the front with excellent views,577. If your a motown/soul fan then visit Motown Magic and Manhattons for a great night out.Enjoyed this holiday and hotel that much cant wait to go back.

Just came back yesterday from this hotel lovely spacious hotel with lots of activities going on through the day and at night.lots of kids activities going on if u want to join in. rooms were basic but nice with air conditioning in and a fridge.I agree with other reviews if u want a sun bed u have to be down with your towel ready for 7.30.i found the drinks were very expenive in the hotel too.My advice would go to a little bar just up the road called wigan pier they had turns on and the drinks were less than half the price of the hotel and its a very friendly bar we had some great nights there.I didnt rate the food very good at this hotel they didnt really cater for kids everything was done in wine or oil and my daughter isnt really fussy but she wouldnt eat anything we were at mcdonalds most nights apart from the food i would go back to the torviscas. If you are going to tenerife and going on any trips do not book through the rep we found a place called direct excursions and saved approx 20 pound on loro park tickets

Great holiday well worth the money, lovely hotel in fab part of tenerife. So close to the sea. Food ok could have more choice of english food but nice for a change. Rooms lovley comfortable and cleaned everyday, air conditioning which could be better. Overall really good time and would go back, plenty to do good entertainment for kids. Everyone lovely and helpful. Pool really nice one cold and slightly warmer only problem need to be up early to get a good sun bed. Weather fantastick everyday no point going if sun is not you thing. Some nice shops to buy some gifts depending what you like. Good entertainment just across the road from the hotel especially if you like singing.

Our third visit to this hotel and it still lives up to our expectations. The food is plentiful buffet style with something to suit everyone. Fish, Steaks, Pork Chops all cooked in front of you. Breakfasts to suit all tastes i.e full english, continental, fruits, meats etc. and the service in the restaurant is excellent. The location is ideal, a stones throw from the promenade/beach with all its watersports, beachfront cafes and bars. Away from the hustle and bustle of las americas it is in the Torviscas area. The drinks are a bit pricey in the bar but most hotels are the same. There are plenty of other little bars around the area to have a drink. I would recommend the Sun Inn which is just a left turn after the Esmerelda Hotel for a snack at lunchtime, the food is excellent and good value. The only complaint I would have if pushed is that the hotel entertainment is a bit poor. The animaciation team do most of the entertaining and put on shows but it would be nice to see a few more outside entertainers coming in besides flamenco and african acrobatics. However we went to the moonlight bar just behind the hotel by the seafront most evenings for a drink so it didn't really bother us.
Rooms are very clean and staff polite and very helpful. Nothing is too much trouble.

just come back from our holiday i would just like to say it was amazing everything about the place was amazing
the hotel: it was great the pool was beautiful if you wanted good beds then you needed to be down for about 750 to que up with the rest of the people, the food was very nice and the rooms were spot on cleaned everyday with fresh towels.
the entertainment staff: were fantastic star friends as they are called kept you entertained all day round the pool with a range of different activities and on the night time had fantastic entertainment.
your in a good area with shops and pubs everywhere and the beach at the back of the hotel which you could access leaving the back entrance of the hotel, all together amazing hotel staff and holiday defiantly going back

Just back from a weeks holiday at the iberostar Torvisca Playa. We choose this hotel as we stayed in an Iberostar in Dominican Rebulic last year.
I was very disappointed in the hotel. The staff, polite but I wouldnt say friendly! Arrived at the hotel and no bath or hand towels in our room I phoned down to reception to be told they would send some straight up to us! 24 hours later and I had to ask again. The toilet in our room didnt flush and again had to ask several times before it was repaired 24 hours later.
The Pool area! What can I say if you want a sunbed you have to join the rest of the saddos queueing from 7am waiting for the dooes to open. A big security guard waiting the other side of the door, just sitting there playing with the keys and smiling. Once the doors are open people literally pushing and running to get to the beds.
The entertainment team were good, not pushy. The food was of a good standard.
Thomas Cook! Well who are they, didnt see them once during the holiday and on the day of departure a girl ticked our names of and than disappeared, didnt even come on the coach with us.
Standards of the hotel I would say a 3 star NOT a 4 star, building old and tired and in need of updating.
Word of warning if you go to the beach dont use the sunbeds and shades near the bar area. For a family of 4 cost us 30 euros for the day, could of purchased them for that amount!!!
If you are looking for a cheap holiday dont go to Teneriffe, the prices of drinks and food area dearer than England, although you do get more.

Just back from an 11 night stay in the iberostar. The rooms are all spacious with a good size bathroom and big mirror. The hotel is very busy and the pool area is busy so if you want a good seat by the pool prepare to get up early. we often slept in til about 9am and never got the area we wanted. The pool is nice and the beach is about a 4min walk, there are loadsa pubs and shops along the promenade. if you walk right to the end there is a large shopping mall with alot of upmarket shops, nice to look in.
Food:
We stayed half board and i thought the food was really quite good. Breakfast stays the same most mornings but there i loads to choose from, full fry up, cereal, cheese, meats, even fish. The dinners varied from night to night, started to get a bit sick of them but generally i liked them. we went out for dinner a couple of nights, the steaks were amazing!!
Nightlife:
We went out clubbing and drinking a few nights, one night we went to veronicas for a laugh, its tacky and dirty but good fun. We went to a nice area called the safari park where there are trendy nice bars to sit in.
there is also nightly entertainment on at the hotel which is quite good, they have acrobats and majic and that knid of stuff.
Weather:
Started to get very warm by the end of our holiday, too hot for me to sit in direct sun, nice when clouds come over.
watch out for the lookie lookie men, they totally pester you and practically follow you, just don't even look at them, also the hair brading women are quite intimidating.
All in all costa adeje is lovely and i would defo recommend a stay in the iberostar.

Hotel is a few minutes walk to beach but not situated as close as advertised. We found the rooms adequate in size and they were cleaned each day, although the sheets & pillowcases were not changed once during our stay (4 nights). The food was excellent, both breakfast and evening meals. The restuarant opening time in the evening is from 6pm to 9:30pm we noticed staff started clearing away food just after 9pm (slightly inconvenient if guests arrived at the restaurant after 8pm (like we did on our first day as our flight landed pm) we found ourselves rushing our meal. The pool area was clean and plenty of sun loungers, although not many available after 10:00am as most guests were placing their towels on the loungers before going into breakfast. Overall, a good hotel, located close to beach/shops & restaurants, with plenty of facilities and entertainment for most ages. The only disappointment was the restaurant closing time. I would recommend this hotel to friends.

stayed at few places now in playa las americas....this one was ok...not many english around mainly german and french..miserable so and so's they are..if you want a sun lounger be prepared to be up at 8 !!!!!!!! supposed be not allowed but no one cares at this place..so just throw off the towels already on and sit and relax..a lot of people were doing this....entertainment is guided for the over 50's in my opinion ballroom dancing e.t.c...drinks are very expensive and food is average not much ehglish on the buffet....we ate out most nights....the iberostar las dallias is ten times better although not as well placed...well good luck and enjoy your holiday 6 out of 10 for us

We stayed at this hotel last September and had a fabulous time, considering Alfie was only 2 at the time he was never bored, pool area exceptionally clean, as were the rooms and rest of the hotel.
There was something going on all day but not in your face like other hotels we have stayed in where you were pressured to join in, if you wanted to join in you were welcome if not ,no hassle.
The food was amazing ,we had my parents in law with us and we all agreed there was something for everyone,a stones throw away from beach and bars,we liked it sooooo much we are all going back this year but this time for 2 weeks.
PS Stay up this end of promenade (in the evenings)because once you get down to the other end you get constant hassle of touts trying to get you into their bars , all we wanted to do was have a nice stroll and sometimes we would have to get quite rude to make them leave us alone, other than that no complaints.

Just returned from a week at this excellent hotel. Probably the only Spanish hotel that I have stayed in that had carpet in the rooms! The staff were very helpful, entertainment was good for the kids, and the food was fantastic, great selection and very high quality.
The only gripe that I have and its only a small one, is that the main pools are a bit deep for younger kids, other than that I can highly recommend this hotel. Location is good in the quieter end of Las Americas, but a taxi to Veronicas is only 4 euros and a walk will take only ten mins.

I was really looking forward to going to this hotel as we were told it was in a quiet location but not far from Las Americas. We had to get a taxi which took 10 mins to get into the main part of Las Americas.
As for the hotel i was really impressed, pool area is lovely with great views, but we spent most our days on the beach as the pool gets crowded.
We ate at the hotel most nights and the food was really nice, did become samey after a while though. Dress code is strict and they sent my boy friend away to get changed as he had 3/4 length trousers on.
I wouldn't really stay at this hotel again as i think there are better hotels if you look around.
