just come back from our holiday i would just like to say it was amazing everything about the place was amazing
the hotel: it was great the pool was beautiful if you wanted good beds then you needed to be down for about 750 to que up with the rest of the people, the food was very nice and the rooms were spot on cleaned everyday with fresh towels.
the entertainment staff: were fantastic star friends as they are called kept you entertained all day round the pool with a range of different activities and on the night time had fantastic entertainment.
your in a good area with shops and pubs everywhere and the beach at the back of the hotel which you could access leaving the back entrance of the hotel, all together amazing hotel staff and holiday defiantly going back

Just back from a weeks holiday at the iberostar Torvisca Playa. We choose this hotel as we stayed in an Iberostar in Dominican Rebulic last year.
I was very disappointed in the hotel. The staff, polite but I wouldnt say friendly! Arrived at the hotel and no bath or hand towels in our room I phoned down to reception to be told they would send some straight up to us! 24 hours later and I had to ask again. The toilet in our room didnt flush and again had to ask several times before it was repaired 24 hours later.
The Pool area! What can I say if you want a sunbed you have to join the rest of the saddos queueing from 7am waiting for the dooes to open. A big security guard waiting the other side of the door, just sitting there playing with the keys and smiling. Once the doors are open people literally pushing and running to get to the beds.
The entertainment team were good, not pushy. The food was of a good standard.
Thomas Cook! Well who are they, didnt see them once during the holiday and on the day of departure a girl ticked our names of and than disappeared, didnt even come on the coach with us.
Standards of the hotel I would say a 3 star NOT a 4 star, building old and tired and in need of updating.
Word of warning if you go to the beach dont use the sunbeds and shades near the bar area. For a family of 4 cost us 30 euros for the day, could of purchased them for that amount!!!
If you are looking for a cheap holiday dont go to Teneriffe, the prices of drinks and food area dearer than England, although you do get more.

Just back from an 11 night stay in...

Just back from an 11 night stay in the iberostar. The rooms are all spacious with a good size bathroom and big mirror. The hotel is very busy and the pool area is busy so if you want a good seat by the pool prepare to get up early. we often slept in til about 9am and never got the area we wanted. The pool is nice and the beach is about a 4min walk, there are loadsa pubs and shops along the promenade. if you walk right to the end there is a large shopping mall with alot of upmarket shops, nice to look in.
Food:
We stayed half board and i thought the food was really quite good. Breakfast stays the same most mornings but there i loads to choose from, full fry up, cereal, cheese, meats, even fish. The dinners varied from night to night, started to get a bit sick of them but generally i liked them. we went out for dinner a couple of nights, the steaks were amazing!!
Nightlife:
We went out clubbing and drinking a few nights, one night we went to veronicas for a laugh, its tacky and dirty but good fun. We went to a nice area called the safari park where there are trendy nice bars to sit in.
there is also nightly entertainment on at the hotel which is quite good, they have acrobats and majic and that knid of stuff.
Weather:
Started to get very warm by the end of our holiday, too hot for me to sit in direct sun, nice when clouds come over.
watch out for the lookie lookie men, they totally pester you and practically follow you, just don't even look at them, also the hair brading women are quite intimidating.
All in all costa adeje is lovely and i would defo recommend a stay in the iberostar.

Hotel is a few minutes walk to beach...

Hotel is a few minutes walk to beach but not situated as close as advertised. We found the rooms adequate in size and they were cleaned each day, although the sheets & pillowcases were not changed once during our stay (4 nights). The food was excellent, both breakfast and evening meals. The restuarant opening time in the evening is from 6pm to 9:30pm we noticed staff started clearing away food just after 9pm (slightly inconvenient if guests arrived at the restaurant after 8pm (like we did on our first day as our flight landed pm) we found ourselves rushing our meal. The pool area was clean and plenty of sun loungers, although not many available after 10:00am as most guests were placing their towels on the loungers before going into breakfast. Overall, a good hotel, located close to beach/shops & restaurants, with plenty of facilities and entertainment for most ages. The only disappointment was the restaurant closing time. I would recommend this hotel to friends.

We stayed at this hotel last September and had a fabulous time, considering Alfie was only 2 at the time he was never bored, pool area exceptionally clean, as were the rooms and rest of the hotel.
There was something going on all day but not in your face like other hotels we have stayed in where you were pressured to join in, if you wanted to join in you were welcome if not ,no hassle.
The food was amazing ,we had my parents in law with us and we all agreed there was something for everyone,a stones throw away from beach and bars,we liked it sooooo much we are all going back this year but this time for 2 weeks.
PS Stay up this end of promenade (in the evenings)because once you get down to the other end you get constant hassle of touts trying to get you into their bars , all we wanted to do was have a nice stroll and sometimes we would have to get quite rude to make them leave us alone, other than that no complaints.

Just returned from a week at this excellent hotel. Probably the only Spanish hotel that I have stayed in that had carpet in the rooms! The staff were very helpful, entertainment was good for the kids, and the food was fantastic, great selection and very high quality.
The only gripe that I have and its only a small one, is that the main pools are a bit deep for younger kids, other than that I can highly recommend this hotel. Location is good in the quieter end of Las Americas, but a taxi to Veronicas is only 4 euros and a walk will take only ten mins.

I was really looking forward to going to this hotel as we were told it was in a quiet location but not far from Las Americas. We had to get a taxi which took 10 mins to get into the main part of Las Americas.
As for the hotel i was really impressed, pool area is lovely with great views, but we spent most our days on the beach as the pool gets crowded.
We ate at the hotel most nights and the food was really nice, did become samey after a while though. Dress code is strict and they sent my boy friend away to get changed as he had 3/4 length trousers on.
I wouldn't really stay at this hotel again as i think there are better hotels if you look around.

We have just returned with our 8 year...

We have just returned with our 8 year old daughter after a week and want to go straight back! We stayed on a half-board basis which we would recommend. We ate hearty full English every morning then barely ate again until dinner.
The room was a decent size with lovely views of the mount Teide to the right and the sea to the left. Room was immaculate- cleaned every day, used towels changed (if left in the bath). Room had fridge and air-conditioning which was a godsend since it was in the high 20's while we were there. Some days were cloudy but be aware that you will still get burnt!
The restaurant staff could not do enough to help; the food was varied and delicious with something to suit everyone.
There was a great selection of shops, bars, restaurants to suit everyone - all within a short walking distance.
The staff - all of whom spoke English were brilliant, nothing was too much trouble. The animation team too were brilliant, not in your face but there if you wanted to take part in the activities.
The kids club could not be faulted, a brilliant team who really worked well with the children. Not once all week did we hear the dreaded "I'm bored". Evening entertainment was varied and fun - particularly enjoyed 'The Beatles'.
The pool area was truly beautiful - but although the hotel frowns upon people reserving sunbeds people did, every day. We struggled to find sunbeds in the best spots as they were reserved well before 9am.
For the first 3 days we followed the rules then decided that we would reserve too to ensure a good spot as everyone else did anyway. We noticed sunbeds that were reserved before breakfast and no-one using them till mid-afternoon.
The excursions organised through the reps are a rip off. Just a two minute walk from the hotel there are places selling the same excursions at a fraction of the price. We would recommend the boat trip to see the whales and dolphins - brilliant. There is also a little train that takes you around the area for 9euros, 5 for children, at about an hour long you get a good tour.
The only minor irritation is the time-share touts. They start off by trying to give you scratch cards and saying you have won a prize. IT IS A LIE. We met a woman who was told she had won 60 Euros and that they would send her in a taxi to collect it. What she found was a 5 hour long presentation on timeshare. She was unable to leave as she did not know where she was and had no idea how to get a taxi back to her hotel.
So be warned. We found that by telling them we were going home that day meant that they left you alone.
Other than that - totally brilliant for couples of all ages and families.

We were in a great area, situated more towards Costa Adeje within good walking distance to bars, pubs, restaurants, shops and the coastal walkway.
The hotel was clean and tidy; Cleaning was still in progress whilst we were there. The food was disappointing considering that this hotel had a 3/4star rate and, having stayed at an Iberostar hotel before where the food was spectacular, we felt let down and ate out on three occasions.
We found a great Steak House, La Brassiere and a Chinese, A Taste of Peking, both within a 10 minute walk of our hotel. We would advise going Room only on future holidays here.
The scenery and surrounding area were brilliant and the walk that stretches so far around the island was brilliant once you learned how to dodge the time share touts.
Shopping is great too, but don't be conned into buying at the first shop that you appear to be getting a great deal...shop around.
If you fancy the Mount Tiede excursion, go by taxi, bus or other means. don't go on one of the organised tours as your time at the top is extremely limited. We no sooner got up, took a couple of photos and then we were boarding the next cable car down in order to get back to our coach before it left...we did leave a couple of people behind and that was despite waiting 20minutes. I would say that the trip is worth doing, the sights are spectacular.
All in all a great holiday.

Returned last week after spending two wonderful weeks at this hotel.
We were very happy with the hotel and our room on the 6th floor was lovely. Larger than average balcony and a good size comfortable room with fridge, TV, hair dryer, safe etc.
Rooms serviced daily and towels changed daily and bed every two days. This did seem a bit OTT to us as the weather the first few days was a good bit cooler than normal and cold at night. In fact I made use of the blanket supplied for a few days.
However not a complaint as we thoroughly enjoyed staying here.
Food was excellent with a good selection of choices. After a couple of weeks it does get a bit repetitive but there are various eating establishment close by. OK so wine and drinks were a bit more expensive than outside but you expect this in any hotel. Staff are very pleasant and helpful.
No problem with sun loungers either, even the second week which was the schools Easter holidays and weather getting a good bit hotter. We did what everyone else did and put our towels (supplied by hotel) out before going in for breakfast about 9.30.
We didn't do any of the excursions as we have been to Tenerife many times and did them all before. Husband is newly retired and we just wanted two weeks of sun and rest in a good hotel.
We did loads of walking. Out the back exit down towards the beach, turning left take you to the Port and Las Americas and turning right takes you to Las Calleta, along the beach walkway. It was lovely.
We were more than happy with this hotel and would have no hesitation in returning.
